What time of day do you like best for skydiving?
MagicGuy replied to b_dog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First load and last load are my favorites. Sunset is the most relaxing time to jump for me. Pull a little higher, check out the amazing scenery, come down and start drinking beers. Doesn't get much better than that! -
Encourage friends to jump..?
MagicGuy replied to timbarrett's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The only people that I enocurage are those that come up to me saying that they've always wanted to do it, because those are the people that do it and keep on doing it. I never try to convince someone that hates heights or airplanes or just has no interest to skydive. I, too, have noticed that even the people that seem so excited and really want to do it.. always have an excuse for not doing it. ALWAYS. Now, I leave it up to them. If they want to do it that bad, they will research it, call and make the reservations. Thats what I did!! -
New rig AND A License? That is DEFINITELY beer!!!

Sweet man! I have 35 jumps and I don't have my A yet.. my own fault!! Congrats man.. keep on jumping!!

Congrats! Wait until you do your first solo.. it is one of the most amazing feelings being out there by yourself and not having to perform. Keep up the good work...

Hey Guy! Yeah, only I won't be up until Sunday cause my mother is getting married Saturday. But yeah, thinking about that in freefall will get me NICE and relaxed! Where the hell did you go on Sunday? I woke up and I was the only one in the clubroom. Saturday was fucking fun though.. lots of drunkeness. Glad you got a jump in on Saturday. Cya soon man.. Ohh by the way.. yes all of my shit has been out of there house for a few weeks now. So no way they can sell anything else!

Nice dude.. Good thing they don't have any more of my shit - that's all I gotta say.

I knew the .32 debate would come up sooner or later All I gotta say is, if it was good enough for James Bond, it's good enough for me!

I got some great news today. Anyone following the BS that I went through with my roommates over the past month and a half will be happy to know that my douchebag roommate got FIRED from his job over the weekend. I wonder how they are gonna pay the bills now. Karma's a bitch.

Drove up to the DZ on Friday.. was almost a ghost town but a few buddies were there. Got drunk, had fun. Saturday I jumped 4 times, first jumps on my own pack jobs. All went well. On jump 2 I sprained my thumb on a turbulent landing. Still did two more jumps ;) Good times, I'm getting better in freefall. Got chinese food and then got really drunk on Saturday night. A bunch of us killed a bottle of Jack that I had. I met another Corey that spells his name just like mine. Everyone was feeling pretty good.. it was good times. Sunday was a wash-out, but I hung around the DZ anyways. Overall a pretty good weekend.

I have an inside the pants Galco holster for it which it resides in most of the time. I am very careful with it.. only setting it down on soft surfaces. That's why it's very strange how these little scratches are appearing. Ohh the finish is stainless steel.

My bad.. sorry Mods!

Sorry anti-firearm people, but I have a gun related question and I don't know where else to ask. I just bought a Seecamp .32 a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely love this little gun, but it keeps developing these tiny, hairline surface scratches along the right side of the slide (where the ejection port would normally be). I am extremely careful with it (my guns are my babies) and it still manages to get these tiny scratches. Any ideas on how I might be able to remove them? Is there any kind of polisher or cleaning tool that would be able to polish them out? I hate seeing scratches on my guns!!! Oh by the way, the gun is stainless steel, not the matte finish.

And the amazing thing is that.. as magicians we are taught not to do a trick for the same person more than once because they know what to expect and can look for a possible method. But these two do the same trick over and over and it seems to become more impossible each time they do it. Very cool..
-
Honestly, I don't know *exactly* how it works. I know it's some very complicated tailoring.. but damn, it's pretty freakin' cool to watch.

Quick Change is a type of magic act. It's a highly guarded secret and there aren't many magicians doing it, or that know it for that matter. And these guys are just amazing at it.

AFF Level 1 today - woohoo!
MagicGuy replied to angrypeppers's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Great job, man! I was worried about being under canopy, too, but once you do it you realize that it's not as hard as you imagined. And I absolutely agree about the door fear thing. I am totally nervous in the plane and in the door, but it just gives me some motivation to get my ass out of there! Keep up the good work! Wait until you get off of AFF - that first solo is an amazing feeling! Congrats.. -
There's a chance I may be relocating to San Francisco, but before I do I was wondering - what kind of skydiving scene happens in the San Francisco area? How far away is Perris? I'm looking for a fun jumper Dropzone, not a Tandem factory. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I wish I had the knowledge to be this guy, but I do know of a few of them - and they are the best. Thanks guys! I think you know who you are...

Definitely not a racist slur. I can't believe that anyone would think it is. I have a friend (white female) that says it all the time, not even thinking that it be a racial slur.

Dog the Bounty Hunter - sent to face charges in Mexico
MagicGuy replied to Flying_Penguin's topic in The Bonfire
Yeah, I know that people can get concealed carry licenses. I'm a firearm owner (In RI so I won't see a concealed carry permit any time soon) . But as for bounty hunters, I know that there are definitely some states where carrying a firearm is NOT an option. I was unaware of his other 31 arrests.. not cool. But I still like Dog and the show -

I don't think Bounty Hunters can carry guns in general, regardless of if you have a criminal history or not. They are not police officers. He served time for accessory to murder. He watched his friend kill someone. -

I really don't understand why he got arrested. When he arrested that dude, Mexico considered it kidnapping him? Dog is the shit. I fucking love that show. Good luck man!
