  1. The screen on my iBook is getting pretty dirty.. lots of spots and smears from people touching my screen (hate that). What do you guys use to clean your screens? Preferably using items that I already have.
  2. Yeah, fuckin Martin. I jumped with him a couple times, and saw him fly in the tunnel. He's definitely a quick learner! Don't think you can teach me anything? Apprently you haven't seen me do RW.. at least you know the vocabulary.
  3. Same here. With all of your collegiate training you should be able to teach my retarded RW ass some skills!
  4. Hmm.. spicy food, I'd go with a Shiraz/Syrah. Should compliment the Buffalo Taquitos quite well!
  5. I'm not a millionaire, but I do have somewhat of an Internet success story. When I was 16 I came up with an idea for a magic illusion where you appear to levitate. Didn't do anything with it for a couple of years because I didn't see it's potential. Met up with an online magic dealer a couple of years later and sold them the rights to sell it exclusively for ten years. It's been almost 4 years - the company has become the biggest and most well-known Internet magic dealer, and my idea has been extremely successful. It's amazing when I think about it. It's only an idea, not even a physical thing, yet it generates more money than my 9-5 job. Damn, I need a new job!
  6. Ahh!!! I was pumped all day about jumping tomorrow. Oh well, Sunday it is.
  7. I had thought a couple times that I had a hard opening, until I actually did have a hard opening. Deployed completely stable (I have the whole thing on video). After throwing my PC I was instantly in the saddle, jerked upwards into a violent 360 that scared the shit out of me because it felt like the harness was going to fall off, followed by me reciting "Holy Shit" for the rest of the canopy ride. Canopy was instantaneously there. Not fun!
  8. My canopy is blue with pink ribs and stabalizers First canopy, I could've cared less about the colors.
  9. 200-250 jumps, in awesome shape. Just look around, you should be able to find something. Canopies are easier to shop for than containers. They only come in so many sizes, whereas a lot of containers are custom made to fit one person.
  10. I hate hearing these stories because I can't imagine having to have been active for at least 3 days after getting mine out. Oh for the record I was completely put under. And yeah, it seems like you were out for only a few seconds, and then when you try to stand up it's pretty funny - I couldn't walk at ALL without assistance.
  11. Love flying dreams. Used to have a few of them every week as a kid. They are still my favorite dreams. I never fly really high in my dreams. Usually never higher than 50 feet up. But I fly all over the place, and sometimes I'll be in the house and will fly downstairs to get something to eat, and fly all around the house. I've had dreams where I'm flying around inside of malls and other types of stores, too. Pretty cool, because I'm always the only one that can fly, and I remember in one dream flying over the balcony of the 3rd floor at a mall and having people scared shitless Yeah, I know - I have weird dreams.
  12. It sucks, but it's bareable. I got all 4 out at once. Hurt like hell for the next few days - didn't do much but play video games and eat popsicles (and Vicodin). Just think, you get it done and then never have to worry about it again. You'll be fine!
  13. Nice man. Good luck with it. Who knows, maybe your canopy skills will progress quickly and you can be on the Stiletto before you thought! Definitely check out the Classifieds, though. I got a sweet canopy in great condition for about $350.
  14. I wonder how long of a drive it is from RI...
  15. I'll be there. There's GOTTA be more dz.commers going.. common guys!
  16. Yeah, Newport is a tandem based DZ. With the huge amount of tourists it really only makes sense for them to do tandems. But I also did two tandems in Newport, and they recommended me to go to Jumptown. That's where I've been jumping ever since. Jumptown is an awesome place. It's a bit of a drive for you (and me as well, I'm in RI) but it's worth the extra mileage. They have a brand new building with awesome facilities. The otter is awesome, as is the pilot that flies it. The instructors are top notch, the gear is maintained immaculately - basically, the place rocks. I also may be biased because Jumptown is my home But check it out, you won't be disappointed. Doug, you're still jumping? This was my first weekend without jumping in a while and it's not cool.. might have to check out CPI.
  17. Stiletto.. whoa. Do your instructors know about this? What size is the Stiletto? Fully elliptical canopies (like the Stiletto) are recommended for people with at LEAST 500 jumps. What made you go for the rig with the Stiletto? I'd recommend looking around in the Classifieds section for main canopies. Maybe you can find a more reasonable canopy for your skill level at a decent price that you can switch out until you are ready for the Stiletto. Good Luck!
  18. It is a great feeling, huh? I've had my own rig for the past 50 or so jumps and I still look at it proudly It's awesome, especially once you really start to get your canopy tuned in and know all of it's characteristics. Plus you save a whole lot money because you aren't renting gear anymore. But then you just jump twice as much! Congrats..
  19. Ask around at your local DZ. I got my rig for $1900. It's not REAL old, the container and main are from '98 and the reserve is a few years newer. BUT, it's in awesome shape, came with a Cypres that had a year and a half of life left, and it's already saved me a bunch of money because I'm not renting any more. Consult with your instructors and rigger as far as what you should look for. They know your abilities and know what to put you on to keep you safe. You're thinking right, though. Definitely go used for your first rig. Most likely you won't do all that many jumps on it before wanting to downsize, or wanting custom, etc. Good luck!
  20. Yeah, it is a cool experience. I was worried about my hop and pops and then when I did my first one, I was like.. wow, what was I worried about, that was friggin' sweet! Now 3,500, when you can see squirrels running around and shit, that's pretty cool, too
  21. Yeah, not having to worry about performing is a great thing. Try doing some flips on exit.. really fun stuff. Congrats, and good luck on getting your A License.
  22. Thanks for the support, Doug (fucker)
  23. No whiskey for me tonight, but it is my alcohol of choice (besides beer, but that's obvious). I prefer Crown Royal, though. MM is good, don't get me wrong. I've been wanting to try the Crown Royal Special Reserve - anyone had it?
  24. I also received some coaching from Pete at the tunnel (Ben it's me, Corey!) and it was a HUGE help. I can't even explain how much he helped me out. All I told him was that I wanted to work on doing turns while flying mantis. At the end of 20 minutes, not only was I doing awesome knee turns, but I was side-sliding, doing super fast forward and backward movement, decreasing my descent speed using new techniques - it was amazing. I, too, highly recommend some professional coaching!! It can do nothing but good things for your flying.
  25. I have been to the tunnel a few times, never going more than 15 minutes. I did close to 25 mins on Sunday and since then I've been hearing a very faint ring in my left ear. It sometimes goes away, but always comes back. It is extremely faint, but I do hear it. Anyone ever experienced ringing in the ears after the tunnel? I used earplugs, and figure that by now the ringing would probably have gone away if the tunnel was the cause.
