  1. There was an article about this guy in the December issue of Parachutist. Pretty cool stuff.
  2. Congrats dude. Best of luck to you and the misses!
  3. That is a great wine. I work for the distributor of Penfold's here in RI and the Bin 128 is one of my favs. We also distribute Rosemount (known for it's Shiraz) and Little Penguin which are both Australian wines.
  4. Jack Daniels is my other favorite. The Single Barrel Jack is so good.. I figured this would be like that. Not quite the same, I would take Single Barrel over the CR Special any day. I get it much cheaper, too. Next time I drink it I'll have it on the rocks.
  5. If memory serves, Kurt Russell made a static line jump at Orange, MA, probably in the late 60s. HW Wow! Didn't know that, Howard. Cool.
  6. Jumptown! In Orange, MA. Very good size DZ with a Twin Otter. The experienced landing area isn't REAL big but the general area of landable ground is quite big.
  7. I'm a big fan of Crown Royal, and have been wanting to try the Special Reserve that they make. It's a lot more expensive than the regular shit.. about $40 for a 750ml compared to about $25 for the regular Crown. Not many places carry it, so when I saw it yesterday I had to pick up a bottle. I ended up going out last night and drinking Scorpion Bowls, so tonight was the night to crack the bottle open. I have to say that right off the bat, it's not really any different than regular Crown Royal. A bit smoother, maybe, but no difference in taste. I have been mixing with coke though, so maybe I'll have to try some straight on the rocks. Anyways, I'm on my 3rd Crown and Coke, and even though I think I paid too much for the 'good' shit, I'm starting to feel pretty gooooood... Anyone else a fan of the Crown?
  8. The results so far are pretty astonishing! Who would've thought...
  9. I can't describe how much I love it. Besides sex, it's pretty much all I think about. If I'm having a bad day at work I just think about the upcoming weekend of jumping I'll be doing. In 5 months I managed 87 jumps, and would've done a lot more if it hadn't been for bad weather and things like Mom getting married and couldn't go to the DZ. Yeah, I love skydiving.
  10. I'm desperate. I need a trailer/camper. Not looking for lifestyles of the rich and famous. Road worthy, small and leak-free is all I need (in a trailer, that is - I can already see the potential for wise ass remarks from that sentense). I'm in RI, so preferably from someone in the Mass, RI, CT area. Thanks dudes.
  11. If you listened to me back in OCTOBER you could've had your A License.. So quit your bitching! haha Just kidding, don't go into a coma, what if the weather is beautiful in February. With this global warming shit, who knows. You'll get there, I was in the same position last Winter, only I had 1 jump, not 4.
  12. Yeah dude, wait until it's a beautiful day out and you're down at the DZ and EVERYONE is jumping, but the wind is just a bit too high for students. Those days suck. Yeah, it's been two weeks for me with no jumps and this past weekend I was getting really antsy. Work has been sucking lately and I really need to jump. To make things worse, my buddy called me yesterday with a spontaneous idea for a road trip to Florida to go for New Years. I was so close to quitting my job... Try to be patient bro. I know it's hard, believe me, this cold weather shit is killing me and all I want to do is jump. The time will come. On the other hand, it's awesome that you're so enthusiastic! Especially still being in AFF - wait until you can jump with other people.
  13. Well, when I was taught my EPs, once that cutaway handle was pulled and released it was immediately over to the reserve handle. I've also heard both sides of the spectrum. You want to pull the reserve immediately after cutting away, but of course you want to be stable when you pull it. Good question, I'm interested in the replies.
  14. Ya know, some people think that I am trying to be a cool guy because I want to be on a smaller canopy. I'm currently on a Triathlon 160 with 87 jumps. BUT, my exit weight is 140 pounds. So my reason for wanting to be on a smaller canopy is so I get better penetration into the wind. Sure helps out on a windy day, or a not-so-good spot. I don't know a whole lot about Diablos, but I have heard that they are the most radical 7 cell you will ever come across. I don't want to be associated with the adjective radical any time soon. 1.4 wing loading at 57 jumps seems a little bit ridiculous for ANY canopy, nevermind a canopy like that. Talk to the S&TA and see what he thinks. I have a feeling he will not approve.
  15. I did all of my training jumps on Navigators ranging from 260s to 200s and LOVED them. Very forgiving and nice flare power. I later jumped a PD 190 and HATED it. But that's just me.
  16. I had a slight problem with tracking in a circle when I first attempted it. My toes were fine, but my shoulders were uneven. Once I figured that out, my tracking improved greatly. Congrats on passing AFF! Now go get your A License so you can start bumping into people and funneling exits.. aka, RW
  17. Oh, we know! Congrats dude. Welcome to the Sky! Good luck with the rest of your AFF. It's awesome that you realize what you did wrong and corrected your mistakes. Before you know it you'll have your A License. Stay safe and have fun!
  18. If the people that are watching you over your shoulder aren't cringing or better yet, butting their head in and telling you that you are fucking up, than you should be fine. Remember, a parachute wants to open. With some of the packjobs that I have seen people do, you'd be surprised at how shitty it can look and still open beautifully. Oh by the way, your fear will go away after the first jump on your packjob And let me yell ya, it's a great feeling to know that you packed it. Now you don't have to rely on anyone! Have fun dude.
  19. Wanted to throw some Good Luck Vibes out to my peeps from the UCONN Skydiving Club. Good luck guys and girls! Kick some college ass down in Lake Wales! Stay safe and Blue Skies!
  20. Clothes, a pair of sneakers, gift certificate to a liquor store (yes!) and the best part.. an Audible Altimeter and $100 to the DZ! I was a good boy this year
  21. Wow, so fucked up. I'll send this out through the Jumptown email list. Maybe one of the New England locals will recognize the gear if it shows up. I'll keep an eye out for ya.
  22. My resolution last year was to get my A License. I did that.. this year I want my B License and Coach's rating. That's my resolution!
