  1. Has not anyone seen this yet ...
  2. came across a guy at this new drope zone I visited who refused to sign my log book. After over 100 jumps that he has, and atleast an A license I'm assuming, he thought he wasn't experienced enough to sign my jump, which was a simple belly to earth dive. But anyway he didn't even care to read. Being new to the sport I would like to know if this is normal for people to do or was this person being over cautious or plain and simple rotten. All others at the drop zone were very sweet and helpful.
  3. Has any one seen Norman Kent's DIVE IN DVD. How do you like it.
  4. Would you recommend the use of a Pro Dytter kind of an audible altimeter.
  5. What does it take to become a tandem instructor cost, skill and time wise.
  6. Ok, very basic question but I need to know the exact meaning. What is Funneling the exit.
  7. If you are new at this game of packing and you have a zero P you already have enough to drive you nuts wihout throwing in the tight fit, if that is possible at all.
  8. What is the figure of 8 maneuver for the B license requirement.
  9. I wan't to start learning how to swoop. Are there drills that can get me into it so that I don't break my legs by starting to learn the wrong way.
  10. Just wanted to get an idea on what kind of operating costs are incurred in operating a plane like the Cessna Grand Caravan. How much and hour does it cost.
  11. May be this is a very basic question but since I'm reading this discussion I would like to find out, so, whats the difference between hooks and carving. Infact what exactly is carving.
  12. What all is required to become a AFF instructor and how long does it take on an average.
  13. Hey that kind of fear is natural. I would say go do a Tandem or two. Fear is ok to have, infact it's vital to have, you only seem to have lost a bit of confidence in your ability. Happens every now and then. The tandem free fall would refresh your memories and may help you get back your confidence slowly. Just go with it and enjoy it. You'll be back into it before you know.
  14. Does it go off automatically or do you have to amnually do it or is there a setting to choose between the two.
  15. How does a Dytter work in free fall. Does it detect fall rate or does it only go by altitude. Is there a mechanism of switching of the beeps when you are under the canopy.
  16. What are your opinions on the single beep dytter vs the three warnings pro dytter.
  17. can a dytter be attached to a protec helmet and if so what is required for it. Also what is your take on dytters attached to gogles.
  18. If the full face is being worn to keep the noise out won't removing the visor defeat that purpose. What are the other reasons one would wan't to wear a full face besides reduced noise and wind off the face, as oppose to the non full face.
  19. Can a full face helmet be worn for freefly stuff or is it only ment for flying belly to earth.
  20. Don't push it. Fix yourself up first. People make mistakes under mals even when they are absolutely fine who knows how your head cold may affect your ability to make those decisions when the time comes. It's not something you wan't to find out the hard way, do you.

    A license

If you really love Skydiving cut down on some beers and the saturday night flings and you'll surely manage to save up a little for the license.
  22. I'm doing that on my next jump my friend. Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes that point just gets lost in all the other things that keep occupying our thoughts. I'm definately doing this.
  23. thanks everyone for their answers, as for 3Flier, child, appreciate your thought but I think if Sex can be discussed in skydiving talk back so can BASE jumping be, Now if you have something personal against BASE I respect that but that doesn't mean you have to get personal about it. The idea behind forums is to get peoples opinions. For that I think the more people you target the better it is, and though Skydivers may not be BASE jumpers but I think there are quite a few who may know enough about it to add their two bits.
  24. After taking some BASE training from let's say some place like Basic Research how does one indulge in the sport legally in the US.
