Imagine the scenario where Bigun goes to a GOP political event. Then starts to espouse his views on gun control. Do you think his life would be in danger? Its more than the money. For the GOP the gun base is so central to sustaining power. That there is not likely a single issue that is larger......OK money is right there next to guns.

You beat me to it. I agree with every word, But AZ is in the process of enacting a new law giving religious exemptions for ANY vaccine mandated by any authority. In state legislatures in the US over 40% of representatives run unopposed. For 99 legislators in the Tennessee House. They ran unopposed. All due to the USSC giving license to gerrymandering. In the last Tennessee election not one single seat changed hands. The story that Bill references at the start of this thread is but a ray of light. Upon the plain of darkness that is the death of American democracy. State legislatures protecting guns, stacking the courts and protecting the status quo. All run counter to Bill's applause for one small act. Sorry to poop on your thread Bill.

Head trauma from all the football.

Lithium! its old already "China is far ahead of the rest of the world in the development of batteries that use sodium, which are starting to compete with ubiquitous lithium power cells." NYT Perhaps its time for the CIA to earn its dinner and steal come Chinese technology for a change.

So no "deep learning" capacity then. Surely it found SC?
-
So it runs in the family then.

Little can go farther for the rest of the world. In the portrayal of how wacky the US is than this. Is it possible to be more banana? Sorry Joe.

Be it guns, Wall Street, concealing wrongdoing during the nomination process. Making false or misleading statements about Roe v. Wade. Nothing new here.According to Clarence Thomas's majority decision last year on gun rights: "Under the Supreme Court's new standard for determining whether gun laws are within constitutional bounds, the government is required to show that the measure is consistent with the nation's historical tradition of gun regulation. "We hold that when the Second Amendment's plain text covers an individual's conduct, the Constitution presumptively protects that conduct," Thomas wrote. "To justify its regulation, the government may not simply posit that the regulation promotes an important interest. Rather, the government must demonstrate that the regulation is consistent with this Nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation. " See emphasized sentence above. Which is almost verbatim what the conservative judges stated during their confirmation hearings. What conservative justices said — and didn't say — about Roe at their confirmations from a NPR story. So on gun rights history is important. For abortion rights. History is important during confirmation hearings. Then for conservative justices, once confirmed History and precedent goes out the door. Imagine the posters in SC who think that changes in gun control have a chance before this banana(corrupt) conservative court.

He sounds as pissed off on this issue as normiss is. But all those ideas die. Because a minority of US states have veto power over rational statute amendments. Popular vote in the US don't mean squat. Because small pro- gun states with little population can outvote the majority.

Yet they can still hunt. Still have guns to "protect" themselves. In the UK, The Vast Majority of U.K. Police Don't Carry Guns. Here's Why. "London's Metropolitan Police carried out some 3,300 deployments involving firearms in 2016. They didn't fire a single shot at a suspect." Thats the rest of the world in a nutshell. In America for every two citizens wanting gun control. There is a Brent or Tim who won't budge on the issue. IMO the USSC, the 2nd and the importance of guns for GOP support. Will result in at least another twenty years of the status quo.

Joe has been kinda feisty ever since his Panama canal transit. Perhaps it was just the reminder that the US built it. Panama took it away and Americans don't even get a free pass for all that trouble. Not to mention that US troops saved Panama from President Noriega. Wasn't it another Joe...Joe DiMaggio who coined the famous American phrase "I get no respect"

Packing the USSC with conservatives is a big hurdle for reforms. In other court gun related news. "The victims of the 2017 mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in which 26 were killed, have reached a "tentative agreement" with the Justice Department to settle a case against the federal government for $144.5 million. " Plus For victims of fatal firearm injuries, medical costs totaled $290 million in 2020 and cost an average of $9,000 per patient, with much of the cost paid for by public health insurance providers such as Medicaid and " firearms-related injuries cause 30,000 initial in-patient hospital stays, each of which result in average treatment costs of $31,000, and 50,000 initial ER visits that run an average of $1,500 a piece, according to the report, which cited a study by the Government Accountability Office. " Is it too late to sue the founding fathers for this curse on the public. Fostered by the constitution? Evidently a character by the name of Madison is mainly responsible.

CNBC was reporting this morning that Ford 150 EVs i.e. the Lightning. Are selling over MSRP Oh well so much for incentives.

I feel your pain and frustration.

Ordinarily thats true. Most politicians are quick to bury the hatchet. To kiss and make up with others within the party. Because common political goals are whats important. trump is a party onto himself. He holds grudges and is unafraid to pursue them. He's more likely to select MTG as his running mate. “Meatball Ron,”“Tiny D.” “DeEstablishment” “Shutdown Ron”“DeSoros.” etc. Clearly trump has put allot of thought into this potential running mate.

Yeah we need a sarcasm emoji. What i meant was that those should have been the issues that the US government should deal with. Instead its unending gun violence. 102 pages now and no end to ideas or shootings. Someday there will be compromise. I just don't see that day on any calendar now. I know Joe gets a little sensitive now and then. He's just a sensitive kinda guy.

Agree. There was a rash of extreme violence in Toronto. Several people were stabbed on the subway. One person was killed. Shame on Canada Overspending is holding back the national dental plan. Every Canadian won't receive full dental coverage immediately. There is no word yet if the NDP coalition leader Mr. Singh will be held to account for this outrage. A full set of pearly whites in every grandparent is the national objective.Even for crackheads. In another Canadian outrage. There have been delays in recruiting child caretakers for the national $10 a day child care plan.

Its confusing that the first quarter follows the fourth quarter. What happened to the fifth quarter? Math was not a part of his MBA.

Re; Death with Dignity.I agree and Oregon is a leader in this respect. When dementia or Alzheimer's is involved AFAIK only families can make the end of life decisions. Wendy is right no guns around dementia or Alzheimer's people.

Digesting this meal is going to start with nibbling at the edges. You may be right about the constitution. The next couple USSC rulings on gun may make that more relevant. Instituting every idea that BIGUN has suggested would likely be a couple big bites of the steak. Leaving most of this Texas sized meal yet to be finished.

If FOX doesn't cover the trial or its outcome. How would its viewers ever know what happened? -
Do you mean the ones who have donated $4 million since the indictment. Of which $1 million was from first time donors?

You should become a speech writer for the US right. You see enemies and personal attacks everywhere. How long has the world conspired against you? Anyway in the real world US incentives are being recalculated: The $7,500 tax credit to buy an electric car is about to change yet again. All to create more American jobs. Clean air, new technology and more US jobs. Sounds reasonable, prudent.
