English sparrows aren't songbirds. Good kitty! Yes, house sparrows are an invasive bird species.
-
Be it immigrants or invasive species some are good, some are neutral and some are detrimental. I personally would kill Lionfish that I found anywhere in the Caribbean. I know they cause huge harm. Calling cats an invasive specie is akin to calling White men an invasive species for native tribes. Although sometimes when frustrated by old republican white men thoughts of unleashing my 30-06 briefly come to mind.

Do We Really Know That Cats Kill By The Billions? Not So Fast I agree with this NPR story. There has never been another quasi-scientific study done to show "songbirds" have been detrimentally affected in a local area by feral cats.

The US is shortly to have bigger problems if you pardon the pun: Hordes of "super pigs" are running amok in Canada, and may soon spill across the border into the northern U.S. The biggest can weigh over 660 lbs. No word yet if trump will build a northern wall to keep these Canadian illegals out.

They closed it because its no longer a developing story. Its become a fact, like gravity. In other climate news. Canadair is developing a new water bomber after a 12 plane EU order with another 12 orders expected. New water bombers were last produced in 2015.

Russia can do badly for a long long time. They can lose millions and millions of dead. But its Putin's war alone. Now he certainly has the reputation of not backing down. But if there is one fact that Ukraine knows for certain. Its that Putin and Russia never live up to agreements or treaties.
-
Agree, Russia is losing. Their replacement troops average less than a weeks training before they are thrown into battle. Many of its best formations are long gone. Russia is scouring the scrap heaps of armor in every republic that it can so it can patch together T-54s and T-64s to throw into action. Alcoholism, drug use and a complete lack of discipline. Is forcing Russian commanders to restrict the issuance of weapons to troops shortly before they go to battle. Because brawls and battles have broken out in the barracks. It is now trading satellite and nuclear technology with N. Korea so it can beg a few armored vehicles. The only place where Russia is winning is in the right wing forums of pro Putin puppets.

Ukraine ranks 21 places above Russia in the corruption perceptions index. It was just granted the right to start negotiations for EU membership three months ago. According to the Atlantic Council: "Historic progress: Ukraine receives green light for EU membership talks" In addition the EU just announced $50 billion Eu in aid to Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said "provide predictable finance to Ukraine on its EU path,." The Russian invasion is in its ninth year with western help really only for the last two. The Vietnam war lasted nineteen years and Putin is now 71.

See above it has your two tasks for the day.

Perhaps its his promise to further reduce taxes by $1.1 trillion annually? Eliminate the IRS and the FBI? In 2016 a prominent study predicted that trump would add $10 trillion to the debt and he did. Perhaps he'd add $20 trillion new debt if re-elected again?

Yet somehow Biden did exactly that. A win for the American taxpayer and a win for the American consumer. With the republican, trump team both the taxpayer and the consumer would have lost out. Because losing is what they do best.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers

Chilling really. Now consider the juxtaposition of trump's speeches now. Labeling immigrants, leftists and democrats as vermin, whose existence will be crushed. -
Brent, Biden and better gas prices. All start with a "B", all things to be thankful for at thanksgiving. Just kidding, two out of three ain't bad.

The irony is that most everyone stood around afterwards and did nothing.

Corruption is like corrosion. Some of it you see some you don't. Its always at work to weaken the strength. Without constant vigilance it will wear the structure until it fails. -

Fascism has a long history even in America. The Lincoln Projects latest. -
The first thing that FOX broadcasters do at the start of the day is lie about what time it is. Just to get into practice. After enough lies FOX viewers just become numb to facts.

Oh come-on! We see proof of that regularly from all around up. Hell the recent polls show almost 1/2 of American voters are "THAT dumb." i.e. republicans. Even in SC. Its not a big issue as flat earthers have to be available to flip hamburgers and serve coffee. The latest starship launch is proof that the US leads the world in engineering. The stupidly huge size of that rocket and its capabilities are a quantum leap in capability. China only last week managed to land upright a rocket stage.

trump called Putin ‘genius’ and ‘savvy’ when Russia invaded Ukraine. If he had been re-elected Putin would own Ukraine. Republicans would be falling all over themselves to say Ukraine is not a part of NATO. Since the US is no longer a part of NATO the EU should just accept it and move on. "Trump said. “I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride. But the way he — and he loves his country, you know? He loves his country. He’s acting a little differently, I think now.”

Its OK, its OK, you've posted here long enough to leave us all in bewilderment. But at least in Texas you'll be superior!

"Last year, Texas put $19.7 million of state funding into its three main homelessness programs – equal to about $806 per unhoused person. California poured $1.85 billion into its three main programs – or $10,786 for every unhoused person. Houston puts no city money into homelessness.Jun 28, 2023" Agree Texas wins! "Sweltering streets: Hundreds of homeless die in extreme heat Chris Medlock, a homeless Phoenix man stated "“If a kind soul could just offer a place on their couch indoors maybe more people would live,” ...Just in the county that includes Phoenix, at least 130 homeless people were among the 339 individuals who died from heat-associated causes in 2021.' Well Texas has low taxes. Letting the heat and no social supports kill off the homeless is one way to solve the problem. If Texas keeps it up soon it will have no homeless people at all. Must be all those church goers, Christians in Texas that comes up with these ideas to fight poverty and homelessness.

Why hunt game on foot when you can bait and shoot from the comfort of a Texas hunting blind and watch the Cowboys "Ox Ranch(Texas) has an $80,000 deer blind.. Direct TV with Sports Package Live game camera feed Poker Table Soundproof Walls Air Conditioning & Heating Fully Stocked Bar with Ice Machine" After all nothing goes with hunting like a fully stocked bar and a rifle.

Texas and California as recent as 2015 had the same GDP per capita but now after exporting many gun loving hillbillies to Texas. California now enjoys about a 15% advantage. Texas is a great state. It spends $4000 less per student on education. So it has more money for football stadiums. Texas is the worst state to live and work, according to CNBC analysis 2013 "Factors like Texas having the highest number of uninsured residents in the nation, higher violent crime rates, a low number of primary care physicians per capita, a strict abortion ban and laws targeting LGBTQ+ people were what made Texas’ score so low, per CNBC." Texas does have AR-15s well stocked in the local Walmart's though.
