  1. Agree, considering the remote locations that USPS must deliver mail to and what it charges for letters. What little it charges for small packages internationally. Its a deal for Americans. UPS and Fed-Ex have better tracking and en-route transit standards. But at greater cost. In addition for international shipments USPS is a deal on customs brokerage charges.
  2. Iran is behind Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthi ship sinkers, etc. All involved in the Iranian objective of destroying Israel. US intelligence suggested that an Iranian attack on Israel is likely today and gold is up $40 an ounce. President Biden has stated that an outright attack on Israel by Iran would solicit an American response. Opinions?
  3. Great idea but it seems to me that giving companies like Generac a run for their money is a first objective. All of the conservative Prepper types will need them. You know I'm your biggest fan in SC. How about some stock options for when it goes public?
  4. Well its not looking good. trump killed 400,000 during the Covid crisis. Surely he couldn't kill more during a second presidency? Given the rabid devotions of his base a felony could cause his support to skyrocket. With mothers naming their babies Donald. Republican supporters selling their homes to buy DJT stock. All sorts of other irrational support.... like Brent's.
  5. John McCain, Liz Cheney, ......there must be some others......I guess the good old days are gone.
  6. True but every western government allows the creation of corporate identities. Which doesn't give them the right to vote. Not quite. The executives of the corporation spend the corporations assets to buy political influence. Through cash donations. Through the decision making in where and how corporate assets, i.e. manufacturing assets are distributed. In order to gain political influence and enjoy tax advantages. IMO this is where most people start to criticize the bad conduct of corporations. i.e. when they employ that decision making to take advantage of the power of politicians. Over the power of citizens and the rights of citizens.
  7. If its a lie to force concessions then the government needs to go full Regan. If the corporation is poorly governed then the government needs to let it fail. If the corporation is a good citizen and reasonably run. Then perhaps government concessions should be offered. If thats his point then its up to the government to be an in your face tough negotiator as well. Otherwise the state is subsidizing shareholders and company executives unjustly.
  8. As does study after study show the rich don't relocate to low tax jurisdictions. Unfortunately the rich can use offshore corporations and trump type tax avoidance. To live where and how they like. That argument is merely a false flag to mislead the poorly educated. To persuade them to vote for tax laws to allow them to get richer while the less well off pay a higher tax burden.
  9. Companies with good governance do not. Corporations can and should have a say because some far right liberals treat corporate profits as a public pecuniary interest. But if your point is that corporations use their financial powers to buy politicians to tilt what should be a level field. I'd agree. This conclusion of yours is not supported by your two premises. It could support major changes to tax laws to keep corporations from shielding excessive profits from taxation.
  10. These Countries Have the Most Income Equality Happiness rankings follow closely, as does health care rankings, longevity, general education, trust of government, peaceful society, functioning justice system, etc. Everything else, i.e. "freedom", guns, free speech, military power, foreign influence, is just b.s.
  11. Well he did say "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, okay, and I wouldn't lose any voters, okay?" Trump said to the laughter of the audience at a rally at Sioux Center in Iowa. "It's, like, incredible." He spent allot buying the USSC. At a weekend past fundraiser that took in $50 million in donations from billionaires. He promised them more tax cuts than what they already enjoy. Even though his Truth Social stock is down $2 billion it's still worth $3 billion to him. Why is his rank above the law so puzzling? The January 6 convicted patriots are going to get pardons on January 20, 2025. No word yet if they will immediately get SEAL team seven appointments in the Trump Brownshirt battalion.
  12. Along with I never trust mainstream media. Otherwise I'll listen to anybody.
  13. Have a little sympathy for a fellow yacht owner. He had to take his yacht back to a drydock because it has been used so much. Bezos's girlfriend is learning to fly his helicopter off his support ship. Both pictured below: She has been taking lessons for more than a year. No word yet if Jeff trusts her to land the helicopter on the vessel with him aboard the helicopter.
  14. You have it all backwards. Billionaires and lobbyists doesn't phone senators and house members. They tell them what they require for tax policy face to face. When they meet at the fancy dinners and fundraisers, for those aforementioned politicians come election time. Then if the answers aren't framed as promises the cheques stay in the wallets and purses.
  15. Its the DOD, it used to mean the Department of Defense. Now its the Danger of Dems. Letting in millions of illegals and giving them all new jobs in an expanding economy. So when they walk into their immigration hearings all you hear is "citizenship approved".
  16. There is an argument that the seriously rich will just move, or move their assets to a lower tax jurisdiction. Thus avoid taxes altogether. That most of their money is owned by corporations controlled by them and not by themselves personally. So they would move their corporations to a low tax jurisdiction. Sweden, Norway and other similar high tax countries have shown that is not the case. But as long as republicans can sell these arguments to the masses. As long as Rupert Murdoch can peddle those ideas unrestricted the masses will keep these ideas as gospel. Nothing will change because every 2-3 terms republicans will give the rich massive tax giveaways. BTY the US ranks #27th in income equality, China #28, South Africa #87. The aforementioned Sweden is #2 and Norway #1.
  17. Price and infrastructure are the current biggest obstacles to EV sales.New survey highlights a significant disconnect between car shopper preferences and current EV market offerings. This Edmunds survey is a week old. But price is not Tesla's driver of sales. BYD the Chinese manufacturer of EVs temporary was number one in EV sales but Tesla just reclaimed it.BYD is currently looking for a new Mexico manufacturing plant. Which means US market access tariff free. Automotive benchmarking company Caresoft invited journalist John McElroy to look at a BYD Seagull. The video is here. $11,500 USD retail with six airbags and 250 mile range. The most used quote in the video is “This doesn't come across as cheap,” The two industry experts in the video are not novices in the auto industry. They summarize their experience with the car in the last seconds of the video. "This is the biggest competitive threat to the entire industry"
  18. Chinese dumping of EVs in the EU and the rest of the world had a large part in that sales fall for Tesla. The EU determined that China has subsided EVs $58 billion since 2018.
  19. Quite right. But the racist MAGA base is still only 20% of Trump's Brownshirt base. President Biden could be tougher on border policies, the deficit, Israel's use of food as a weapon in the war against Hamas, speed in supplying more advanced weapons to Ukraine, etc. It should but national interests are usually ranked behind personal interests.Three high ranking generals who served Trump directly in his administration. Have all come out and called Trump a direct danger to America. Not to worry though Army general Flynn is ready to go back to work for trump January 20, 2025. .... Can a person be pardoned twice?
  20. He does know better. But once in a while attempted humor in the guise of a cheap shot is allowed by forum rules.
  21. Co-founders of Trump Media, Andy Litinsky and Wes Moss are being counter-sued by Trump. They initiated suits against Trump alleging that Trump wanted to issue a billion shares. Which they felt would dilute the shares to practically nothing. So one day before it went public Trump filed against them stating that they should have no shares in Trump media whatsoever. They were both formerly apprentices on Trump's TV show. The idea of the media corporation was evidently brought to Trump by them. But they evidently learned nothing on the show about Trump or prior to getting involved in a business deal with him.
  22. Sure but trump could no sooner quit committing crimes than Pavlov's dogs could stop drooling.
  23. So a biased and cherry picking study then? I thought so.
  24. Did the author explain why conservatives suffer from delusions, loss of power anxiety and cult susceptibility syndrome?
