  1. Female, White, billionaire, a brain and with millions of fans. Its no wonder republicans feel threatened. Setting aside the whole NFL thing of course.
  2. My new cable provider added FOX. So yesterday at the same time every news channel was covering the E. Jean Carroll verdict. On FOX not a peep. Instead it was the invasion of cartel members, criminals, insane asylum residents. All being kept out of Texas by razor wire. They didn't provide pictures of Biden but he was hiding around every corner. Today a "writer and author" rented a EV to take a 160 mile trip in California. Car ran out of power and had to be abandoned. At the last report of the FOX "journalist reporters" the rental car was still abandoned on the side of a rad because there are no charging stations to be found. Once again Biden was responsible for the hills and distances within California. Sorry Wendy I don't think negotiations with the new GOP is possible.
  3. The Roman government was one of the earliest examples of democracy. Corruption, factional disputes, economic decline eventually led to authoritarian governments. Appointing judges to protect insiders became commonplace.. "The Roman advocate and politician Marcus Tullius Cicero noted three sources for this corruption: personal favoritism, the influence of the powerful, and bribery" "Cicero's Conclusions Secondly, he outlined four basic principles of natural justice that societies ought to follow: not to attack others physically without reason; to respect both private and common property; to stick to our promises; and to be kind and generous towards others within our means." The founding fathers of the US constitution used to believe in these ideals also. Then along came MAGA ideals, tumpionian ideals. i.e. that society should protect the elite, enrich the elite, never criticize the elite. The recent resignation of the GOP Arizona president because of a tape recorded conversation with Kari Lake and his attempt to bribe her. Is a prime example. America had a good run while it lasted. Insiders made untold billions. Trillions were directed from the average person into the pockets of the powerful. Perhaps persuading the upcoming trump government to build a northern border wall is a good idea.
  4. "Many Norwegians rejected on Friday a suggestion by U.S. President Donald Trump that they would be more welcome to move to the United States than immigrants from "shithole countries" such as Haiti or African nations. The Nordic country, one of the richest in the world by GDP per capita, was last year named the happiest nation on the planet and is known for a cradle-to-grave welfare state" Norway has just been rocked by a political scandal as well. A Norwegian minister was forced to resign because of.....wait.....plagiarism. The horror, the horror. Meanwhile in the US the ex president calls for SEAL team six and political retribution.
  5. IMO its within the context of trump's lead in this discussion whereby he stated in a court motion that he had the authority to kill political rivals. Or at least his lawyers did referring to SEAL team 6 killing domestic political opponents. I don't know if anyone else caught it but he just threatened to even the score with any firm that donates money to Nikki Haley's campaign. .Every day his behavior gets worse and every day his lap dogs do, what lap dogs do.
  6. Isn't that part and parcel of what democrats should expect if they choose to live in Florida?
  7. Is it just me or is the midwinter blahs leading to more pissing contests?
  8. Also why Israel left Lebanon in 2000 after its war and occupation of south Lebanon.
  9. Yes, its only a matter of time until Iran has its nuclear weapons at hand. No doubt with some Russian help for the quid pro quo of Iranian drones. Just as Russia helped North Korea with missile technology for its artillery ammo supplies. A good time to be geographically removed from the hot spots and behind a NATO shield.
  10. Agree. "War is the continuation of policy with other means." Was originally penned by Carl von Clausewitz a Prussian philosopher/general. He started his military career at 12 years old. The world has enjoyed a "peace dividend" more or less since WW 2. Now it seems as if military adventurism and the might of the sword. Are tossing aside the lives and peace of civilians.
  11. I took it as a reference to the days when a overwhelming superiority in weaponry. Resulted in a clear superiority in how political disputes were dealt with. Today you have a raggedy band of backward flip flop wearing tribesmen. Possessing weapons provided by a sponsor to do their political bidding. That are as modern as what the best of the west has. Iran has exported MARV ballistic missiles, very advanced drones, etc. To these same tribesmen and trained them to use them.
  12. Only James K. Polk, Andrew Johnson, and Donald Trump did not have any presidential pets while in office. A playboy pet is trump's type.
  13. Show me the incentives and I'll show you the outcome.
  14. Odd that so many are running around in Canada, and the Nordic countries W/O issues. Must be something in the drinking water in Chicago.Or perhaps just the FOX effect.
  15. You sound like Wendy. Everyone here has been trying to influence Brent for a decade for zero effect. This could be......Brent. You need to start at the beginning of the video for full effect.
  16. Are you implying that Ken discriminates against Houthi virgins? I'm sure the young swabbies from the Eisenhower painted appropriate less than Hallmark greetings on the JDAMs sent so far. "Have some virgins on Ike", "Ike sends its greetings"
  17. If he expanded it to include younger daughters. He'd have this guy's support: "In an early draft of a piece by Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen, he purportedly wrote that “President-elect Donald Trump once asked, ‘Is it wrong to be more sexually attracted to your own daughter than your wife?" And of course where trump comes, so comes the GOP.
  18. Pakistan has nukes and might take care of the Houthi's supplier any day now.
  19. Have you got something against Virgins?
  20. Mr. Musk thinks Tesla has underpaid him. He has already cashed in at least $22 billion in Tesla stock. Now he has demanded another $80 billion in stock otherwise he will move AI developments to another company. That same year his actual ownership of Tesla stock went up "Elon Musk, the chief executive of Tesla, stunned investors by demanding that the company’s board give him shares worth more than $80 billion if it wants him to continue developing products based on artificial intelligence." He currently owns 17.7% and wants 25% so "it can't be open to hostile buyouts" How much is too much?
  21. His legacy is mostly gone. A casualty of MAGA, GOP propaganda. RIP Mr. King you tried your best.
  22. Sorry to disappoint you but for radical Iowa republicans rated the economy four points ahead of immigration. Iowa primaries hasn't picked a presidential winner for decades. As illustrated by the fact that 59% would ban abortions nationwide. But 64% would still want trump to be president if convicted of a crime. Evidently a rape conviction doesn't mean much for them. Then of course 65% of Iowa republicans believe Joe Biden stole the election. Brent you should move to Iowa where you'll be really at home.
  23. Tucker Carlson on FOX a NPR story. "I'm talking about people who are neo-Nazis, open nativists, white nationalists, people who get together in dark corners of the internet, mostly, and propound theories about how a cabal of elites - sometimes Jews, sometimes broader - are trying to replace Americans" Versions of this story line have been featured on Tuckers shows more than 400 times. The bombardment of conservative media in America is non stop. Its spread to religious conservatives and now the "Christian right" believes its mandate is protect White America. Radio, TV, online and from the pulpit. So now only 20% of republicans still need conversion. Tucker is gone now but for every obvious Tucker there are hundreds of less noticeable ones. Hence the pounding of the table about the "immigration crisis" from the right wing information sources. These attitudes don't develop overnight and they will be a part of the American character for decades to come. If the barrage of such information streams ended tomorrow. Americans pretend that trump wouldn't kick a puppy. That’s ridiculous. He’d hire someone else to kick a puppy, then deny knowing the person he hired and refuse to pay them
  24. Agree with all of the above. They don't go after the party directly because it could show bias and judges are supposed to stay cool and rule only on the evidence. But they can craft their opinions and obviously their opinions based on that behavior.
