  1. Oh Ron! It's called the rule of law and the constitution. Every member of the house, senate and the presidency swears to uphold them. I know you know such words because you swore to uphold said ideas. Many, many years ago, back in the 1960's when you served your country.
  2. That which is obvious is not always correct. In the absence of external factors the mean sea level would coincide with an equipotential surface of the Earth's gravitational field. In reality, due to currents, air pressure variations, temperature and salinity variations, etc., this does not occur, not even as a long-term average. The global variation is ± 2 meters. So what you're saying is that the calculation for a MSL arises from a parameter of a 2m variation, usually? https://www.esri.com/news/arcuser/0703/geoid1of3.html "MSL is usually described as a tidal datum that is the arithmetic mean of hourly water elevations observed over a specific 19-year cycle. This definition averages out tidal highs and lows caused by the changing effects of the gravitational forces from the moon and sun."
  3. And even the small amount of rise we've experience so far has had some pretty impressive effects on coastal flooding. Norfolk VA is a good example. A big part of the problem is that the land is sinking, but rising sea levels play their part. And even though the flooding isn't due entirely (or even mostly) to actual rising sea levels, it shows what even a modest increase can do. Very poorly written article with outright wrong information. "A new NASA-led study shows that land in the Hampton Roads, Virginia, metropolitan area is sinking at highly uneven rates, with a few trouble spots subsiding 7 to 10 times faster than the area average. Whereas earlier estimates had suggested the area is subsiding evenly, the new study found that major differences in subsidence rates occur only a few miles apart. Hampton Roads has one of the highest rates of relative sea level rise -- the combined effects of sinking land and rising seas -- along the U.S. East Coast, about an inch (23 millimeters) every five years. It has experienced a steady and dramatic increase in high-tide flooding over the last 90 years. Accurate, local subsidence maps are necessary for the area to prepare for increasing flood risks in the future. The region comprises seven Virginia cities, including Norfolk and Virginia Beach, as well as Naval Station Norfolk, the country's largest naval base." https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=7010 Below for climate. https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/sea-level/ If the local coast is slumping for some reason. It is also a factor. But virtually all measurements are made at mean sea level. With ground including the height of Everest above that. Obviously the sea level(mean) in Norfolk is the same as anywhere else. I find NASA and NOAA the best sources of information. With solid science behind the representations.
  4. Russell 2000 small cap stock index down 30 points after two years of trump and one trillion dollars of more federal debt. All the famous trump deregulation and American companies stock value is down. 5. Donald J trump and America. Making new enemies on every continent every day. I'm sure that Marc, Ron and FOX news will spin it as a win. So the US can leave the entire region with Saudi Arabia the sole exception. MBS loves trump and Jared.
  6. Apples and oranges. In Syria, we're supporting/training the Kurds to do the fighting themselves. When we tried to train them elsewhere and send them back in, they were slaughtered on their own without support. We have a couple thousand people there in support, not (generally) fighting on the "front lines." Turkey considers Kurds all to be after only one thing: taking over Turkey. All Kurds. They seriously do not think Kurds in neighboring countries of having any interest in the governments there -- they treat all Kurdish enclaves as staging areas for Kurds to regroup and launch attacks back into Turkey. U.S. forces being in Kurdish areas of Syria just means Turkish forces can't attack the Syrian Kurds there without possibly hitting Americans. As soon as our folks are gone, Turkey will take advantage of the weak Syrian government and decimate the Syrian Kurds. They'll accuse them of supporting PKK (militant/terrorist Turkish Kurds), and wipe them out. They'd love to do the same thing in Iraq. Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Saudi Arabia has now agreed to spend the necessary money needed to help rebuild Syria, instead of the United States. See? Isn’t it nice when immensely wealthy countries help rebuild their neighbors rather than a Great Country, the U.S., that is 5000 miles away. Thanks to Saudi A! 144K 11:23 AM - Dec 24, 2018 A few weeks back there were numerous reports about the Saudi's attempting to buy Turkey off for the murder of Khashoggi. In October they gave the US $100 million to rebuild Syria. The funds to be administered by the US. What Turkey hopes to gain from Khashoggi’s murder https://www.politico.eu/article/jamal-khashoggi-murder-saudi-arabia-journalist-istanbul-what-turkey-hopes-to-gain/ In one stroke trump sold out Israel and the Kurds. So Turkey could have their way with the Kurds, outside Turkey. If not wipe them out. Iran will now have a free reign in Syria. It largely controls Iraq through its militias, Muqtada al-Sadr and other Shia religious leaders. In Syrian withdrawal, Trump abandons Israel and the Kurds https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-syrian-withdrawal-trump-abandons-israel-and-the-kurds/ Yet Netanyahu has largely remained quiet about this sudden reversal of course. Netanyahu: Israel Able To Contain Iran In Syria After U.S. Pullout https://www.rferl.org/a/israel-netanyahu-syria-iran-us-pullout-trump/29673028.html Analysis Trump’s Syria Withdrawal and Mattis’ Resignation Startle Israel – and Undercut Netanyahu https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/.premium-trump-s-syria-withdrawal-and-mattis-resignation-startle-israel-undercut-netanyahu-1.6766824 Yet in the face of a upcoming election Netanyahu has remained quiet about trump's sellout of Israeli interests. The numerous statements and media coverage of the US betrayal of Israel in Syria. The other half of this equation as to the winners besides Turkey, Russia and Iran. Is MBS, Jared Kushner's business partner in Saudi Arabia.
  7. Ummm... not really. You just have to read some history. America has almost always had an isolationist streak and could not be counted on. And there is nothing wrong with that. However, only with the Trumpists in charge has America began spitting on it's friends for spite. Welllll thats not really fair. The isolationist periods of US history are no different than any other country. Every country has periods of "engagement" and then subsequent periods when withdrawal to isolationism prevails. The Swiss the likely sole exemption. The US however has an expanded view whereby the "military-industrial" complex. Combined with unmatched military capabilities. Act hand in glove with policies that place "important national interests" almost everywhere. The US was reluctant participants in the military actions to ouster Muammar Al Gathafi in Libya. They only acted when France and the EU had put together a partnership and plan of action. Which the US then enjoined. US actions in the Balkans was along a similar plan. Trouble arises when the quick actions of political expediency. Intersect with the political realities of patient enemies and their ideologies.Enemies like the NVA that know they can just wait it out. The difference that trump brings to equation is to alienate friends and foes. Befriend.enemies with no logic. Russia and NK, as examples. With no coherent ideology, policy and plan of action.
  8. No this is not for Ron, he will always be a skeptic. No this is not for Marc. He never reads what anybody posts. https://www.skepticalscience.com/empirical-evidence-for-co2-enhanced-greenhouse-effect.htm At 3000 ppm it is dangerous to people and at 5000 ppm its lethal. Co2 is heavier than air.
  9. Patrick Shanahan, a former Boeing executive " not everyone in the Pentagon is on board with Shanahan’s style. Several officials with first-hand exposure to Shanahan told Defense News they feel the deputy is too focused on having meetings, sucking up staff time without having many concrete victories to point to. The officials also described Shanahan as having a sometimes combative personality. The deputy has reportedly clashed with Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson and was allegedly a driving force in the firing of Chief Management Officer Jay Gibson after only nine months on the job. He also reportedly was not particularly close with Mattis.... “It is also natural that people are defensive when leaders begin focusing on performance rather than process,” he wrote. Asked what he would say to complaints his initiatives have yet to produce major shifts, Shanahan expressed confidence that at the end of the day, results would be evident. “In any large organization, successful change requires rewiring and retooling systems. These are not quick fixes, and take time to produce results, but it is only way to produce lasting change at scale,” he wrote. “In the end, the question will be: ‘Did we implement the National Defense Strategy?’ The NDS is our plan, now we are assessing performance of the enterprise against that plan, and rewiring the systems to enable improved, long-term performance.”... “He’s not a policy or geopolitics guy. He’s a business guy,” the source said. “But he’s spent the last year learning from the best. And Shanahan is known for having a good relationship” with Trump and Vice President Mike Pence." So he has a whole year of defense related experience. naturally thats enough for trump. trump sure showed General Mattis. The hell with a transition team. Change the locks on Mattis because trump knows "more than the generals" and Shanahan has a "whole year" of military experience. Minus the boot camp of course. https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2018/12/21/with-mattis-out-is-shanahan-poised-to-rewire-the-pentagon/ With Patrick Shanahan, the Military-Industrial Complex Is Alive and Well "Boeing is the second largest contractor for the Department of Defense, having received $25 billion in fiscal year 2016. Among the major Boeing weapon programs DoD currently oversees is the $43.5 billion KC-46 tanker;already $2 billion over cost and the $62 billion V-22 Osprey.... Shanahan’s own career at Boeing included managing the... Ground-Based Missile Defense system the Union of Concerned Scientists found cost taxpayers $40 billion and still has no proven track record of being an effective countermeasure. Boeing is also half of a joint venture with Lockheed Martin called United Launch Alliance, the prime contractor for the Air Force’s Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program, which has come under Congressional criticism for cost overruns that more than doubled the cost of the program and having an unfair monopoly... The DoD is also currently evaluating alternatives for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, including comparing the platform to Boeing’s F-18;which could result in substantial benefits for Boeing. Concerns about the revolving door between defense contractors and the Pentagon go beyond specific acquisition programs, however, and include policies that impact government oversight of companies’ operations. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Boeing is one of the top spenders on lobbying, ranking seventh." https://medium.com/war-is-boring/with-patrick-shanahan-the-military-industrial-complex-is-alive-and-well-91f67a3e98e3 I'm sure that John McCain is rolling over in his grave. Perhaps that brave man is better off RIP. Rather than see how Boeing lobby money has paid off. A top trump lobbyist landed the top defense job. He has a personal history of wild cost overruns on the weapons systems he has managed. Lobbying Client Profile: Summary, 2018 Subtotal for Parent Boeing Co: $11,270,000
  10. The midterm election shows white women are finally starting to abandon Trump https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/11/7/18064260/midterm-elections-turnout-women-trump-exit-polls The GOP Is Dying Off. Literally. " By combining presidential election exit polls with mortality rates per age group from the U.S. Census Bureau, I calculated that, of the 61 million who voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, about 2.75 million will be dead by the 2016 election. President Barack Obama’s voters, of course, will have died too—about 2.3 million of the 66 million who voted for the president won’t make it to 2016 either. That leaves a big gap in between, a difference of roughly 453,000 in favor of the Democrats. Here is the methodology, using one age group as an example: According to exit polls, 5,488,091 voters aged 60 to 64 years old supported Romney in 2012. The mortality rate for that age group is 1,047.3 deaths per 100,000, which means that 57,475 of those voters died by the end of 2013. Multiply that number by four, and you get 229,900 Romney voters aged 60-to-64 who will be deceased by Election Day 2016. Doing the same calculation across the range of demographic slices pulled from exit polls and census numbers allows one to calculate the total voter deaths. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/05/the-gop-is-dying-off-literally-118035 New Survey Shows Young People Are Staying Liberal and Conservatives Are Dying Off http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/03/new-survey-young-staying-liberal-conservatives-dying-off.html Its all good. All the old white uneducated republicans are dying because of trump policies i.e. poor-no health care. Plus the undeniable demographics of republicans. In fact the day may soon be here when the last old, white, republican will be laid to rest. With his old AR-15 and its Vietnam era 20 round magazine. No offense Ron and Marc. Merry-Christmas.
  11. He makes the odd good point. Kicking Turkey out of NATO for one. America needs to develop a foreign policy whereby it sees dramatically less "important interests". Israel and the Kurds are the two only friends in that region. Ceding the battlefield to IS, Iran and Russia. Ain't one. Odd that nobody on FOX. None of the usual trump apologists in SC. Nor trump. Has suggested a US withdrawal from the war in Yemen. A war that kills 2500 children per month. Oh silly me! MBS is a patron of trump and a friend of Jared Kushner. Carry on killing children. That would be 700 more by the new year.
  12. If he worked for FOX the lie would get lost in the pander-babble that passes for news. FOX almost without exceptions parrots trumps lies without challenge. Then their audience, Pavlov's canines, lap it up. If FOX fired people for lying they would devoid of journalists, management and ownership. Within a day.
  13. The Kurdish fight is humanity’s fight "Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is a tyrannical brute, who has made a frequent habit of trampling on the human rights of his own people, with total impunity. Since the failed coup of July 2016, Erdogan continues to conduct arbitrary arrests and purges of academicians, politicians and journalists. Anyone slightly threatening to him is held in prison on trumped-up charges.... This weekend, Erdogan gave a heated speech in Kilis, which is on the Turkish-Syrian border, vowing to drive out the Syrian Kurds from their ancestral homeland, and threatening to go into the US-backed Kurdish region east of the Euphrates, starting with the Kurdish-held town of Manbij, to which the crowd passionately chanted, “Hit. Hit. Let it reverberate and let Trump hear.”... Syria’s Kurds have done much of our own dirty work while they courageously fought to eradicate Islamic State (ISIS). They have never asked anyone else to shed a drop of blood in their defense. The region of Afrin has been a safe haven for approximately 400,000 internally displaced Syrians, who are Kurds, Sunni Arabs, Assyrians, Yazidis and others. In the past week Turkey has been trying to create a stranglehold on the Kurdish region of Afrin in northwestern Syria. Afrin is in a particularly difficult place because it is an isolated Kurdish enclave, separate from where the bulk of US-backed Kurdish forces are. Russia controls everything west of the Euphrates River, and Russia, which controls the airspace, has given Erdogan the green light to attack Afrin from the air. As I write this, Turkish tanks are penetrating the region, and there are at least 100 Kurds murdered. WHEN I look at the Kurds, I see the history of the Jewish people before the State of Israel. I see the Kurdish people of Afrin as the Jews of Eastern Europe, or as the first settlers in pre-state Israel, who also valiantly defended their land.... No one spoke up for my Aunt Sarah when the Nazis invaded Poland. And that is why I must speak out today while Erdogan is launching this ruthless offensive on the Kurdish region of Afrin. Just as the West harbors a black chapter in our history for looking away from the cries of my aunt, our history will forever be blackened if we now choose to look away from the cries of the Kurds in Afrin. The Kurdish fight is a fight to preserve our humanity. The author is founder and president of the Endowment for Middle East Truth, EMET, a pro-Israel and pro-American think tank and policy shop in Washington, DC. She and her group are currently on Capitol Hill educating members of Congress on the need to support the Kurds in Afrin." https://www.jpost.com/Opinion/The-Kurdish-fight-is-humanitys-fight-540261 Nobody in the middle east understands it and America's interests better than Israel. Erdogan wants to drive the Kurds from Syria and Iraq. To use them as scapegoats for his failing economic policies. trump has handed them over to him. To be slaughtered.
  14. Don't worry. John Bolton and Steven Miller are still looking over things. America is in good hands. Sleep well everyone. I will. Thank you! 15. What is ingrained in his psyche is that neither he, nor America, need friends. That negotiations are essentially conducted by threat, bluster and outrageous demands. I hope that he dosn't compound this mistake by making another. One that sends US personnel into another trump created miscalculation. If Iran, NK, Russia, etc. decides to test him. If FOX decides that they should embarrass trump's inaction on the matter. American service members could suffer.
  16. 10 years later many things have changed. Only readjustment I need is to be able to say "enough". And absolutely I mocked Barry. He was stupid enough to draw a line in the sand and then back down. Sometimes when you do that all you end up with is a sandy stick. If you want to continue to fight ISIS that's fine. I don't think there's much left to go after. Asking the military if we should continue is like your boss asking you if your job should be eliminated. "Trump said "As promised, I directed the Department of Defense to develop a plan to demolish and destroy ISIS, a network of lawless savages that have slaughtered Muslims and Christians and men, and women and children of all faiths and all beliefs. We will work with our allies, including our friends and allies in the Muslim world, to extinguish this vile enemy from our planet." https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/trumpometer/promise/1375/develop-plan-defeat-isis-30-days/ "According to a U.S. military estimate released last summer, up to 30,000 ISIS fighters remain across Syria and Iraq." https://www.cnbc.com/2018/12/20/trumps-sudden-syria-pullout-will-embolden-isis-and-iran-allies-warn.html

Iran sends Hezbollah GPS parts to turn rockets into precision missiles — report Or make a deal with Iran to supply WMD to put atop Iranian built missiles that they supply to Hezbollah. To attack Israel. Oh but wait! That would fulfill Ron's dream of Armageddon. Starting in the Middle East. Spreading war thorough the world. "Iran has delivered advanced GPS components to Hezbollah which will allow the terrorist group to make previously unguided rockets into precision guided-missiles, thus increasing the threat to Israel, Fox News reported Friday. According to the media outlet, American and western intelligence services believe Iran has been increasing its shipments to Hezbollah, with one flight arriving in Beirut as recently as three days ago with the parts to convert weaponry at Iranian factories in Lebanon. .. “The Iranians are building a formidable military presence in Syria with ballistic missiles, precise ballistic missiles, UAV, air defense. 18. Or if republicans found out that Obama was taking advice from a convicted Islamist terrorist: ""He’d served time in prison, in 1999—for reading a poem that seemed to celebrate militant Islam" and letting such a person's advice determine international policy. Handing hard fought battlefield successes over to Russia. As a happy x-mas Putin gift. The Kremlin will be toasting success this holiday season. Vodka and Beluga caviar for everyone.

Turkey’s Vote Makes Erdogan Effectively a Dictator https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/turkeys-vote-makes-erdogan-effectively-a-dictator April 17, 2017 "He’d served time in prison, in 1999—for reading a poem that seemed to celebrate militant Islam... On Sunday, Erdogan declared himself the winner of a nationwide referendum that all but brings Turkish democracy to an end. The vast new powers granted to Erdogan wide control over the judiciary, broad powers to make law by decree, the abolition of the office of the Prime Minister and of Turkey’s parliamentary system—effectively make him a dictator.... For much of the past year, Erdogan ’s government has been working to stamp out what remained of the democratic opposition to his rule. Since July, some forty thousand people have been detained, including a hundred and fifty journalists. A hundred thousand government employees have been fired, and a hundred and seventy-nine television stations, newspapers, and other media outlets have been closed. Many opposition leaders are in jail. Ann is slightly to the left of Ron and Evangelicals. The current gov't shutdown can be directly attributed to her. Its long been rumored that one of her books is the last one ever read by trump. May 26, Coulter did a combative interview in Miami with the bilingual Fusion TV network’s host Jorge Ramos,... Ramos: “You’ve said that Americans should fear immigrants more than ISIS.” Coulter: “Yes.... If you don’t want to be killed by ISIS, don’t go to Syria. If you don’t want to be killed by a Mexican, there’s nothing I can tell you.”... “I was on my way back to the airport to fly to New York City when I got an email from Trump’s office requesting that a copy of the book be overnighted to him,” recalls Coulter. Two weeks later, Trump delivered his famous — or infamous — speech about Mexico dumping “criminals, drug dealers, rapists, et ceterera” into the United States https://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/article73186372.html trump's wall, trump's immigration policy, "brown hordes of illegals despoiling white America" are all from the mouth of Coulter.

The Russell 2000 is a index of 2000 US small cap companies. As of today(1349) it is below the same date two years ago(1388) just before trump scammed America and voters. By becoming president. Soon the statements will be going out to show trump voters how their retirement savings have vanished. Rightfully so, decisions have consequence. All the benefits of $1 trillion in tax breaks. All the supposed benefits of "deregulation". Nothing to show for it except trump debt.
  23. The judge in yesterday's Flynn case is an example that the US has a justice system.
  24. Sally Yates said it best, in a very understated sort of way: “To state the obvious, you don’t want your national security adviser compromised with the Russians.” Pfft. What does it matter that the National Security Adviser is compromised? Especially if the President has been compromised for years. Does anyone else remember the reports from the early months that the CIA & NSA were heavily editing their briefs because they were reasonably sure that anything that went to the Oval Office would end up in the Kremlin? BRILLIANT understatement. Thankfully Mattis is still in the WH so the nuclear football isn't sold to pay for trump's personal legal bills.
