  1. I want one! Where can I get one??? I live in the North West of Western Australia and this morning at 8am it was already 30 (celcius)! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  2. Oh no! That's even worse! Did it happen to you again? Or just one bad hit and it was over and done with? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  3. I got my A in 12 jumps - almost 2 months I think - but I was taking it slow... I've seen people go through their whole AFF course in the space of a week and they are only 1 or 2 jumps away from their A. How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  4. If it's Skydive Auckland I would just like to say I have heard nothing but good things about them. I have also talked to them because we are planning a trip to NZ in Feb and they sound like really great people! My 2c for the day... 5. That's terrible! I hurt myself about 3 months ago and I did get some comments but all of the nurses and doctors were fantastic! I even managed to convince some of them to try it (by putting their life in the hands of our TM - not ME!). I don't know whether this is just because it is a small town or not - but still, skydivers don't deserve that! 6. I never thought I would say it but we're escaping the warm weather to go down south a bit and jump where it is cooler for a couple of days! I think it made 43 (Celcius) on Sunday! =( That was not a very nice 2,000 ft! Thankfully I was convinced before the jump that I really didn't need my jumpsuit on this one... 7. Not for much longer! I've ordered my wings and hopefully I will see it in a couple of weeks! *cross fingers* =) I might even get the jump numbers and experience up enough to be on the Wings load this Easter boogie (if they have a Wings load this year!). 8. I have the same problem on my rig at the moment - a Vector - I'm only doing RW type jumps at the moment but I wouldn't even think of doing a FF jump with it. The main is slightly too large for the container but mainly it is just an older rig that the flap that you tuck under is kinda bent. I've noticed on all the new ones they have made them to last - flaps that are a lot longer and sturdier. 9. Ha ha ha...Good choice! =) I ordered my very first brand new wings about a month ago and ordered royal blue on black tie-dye! My jumpsuit is black, blue and red so I thought I would continue the colours onto my rig. All blue and black (some tie-dye) and of course my red cutaway pad! =) I haven't got it yet but if you have a look on the wings website they have a gallery and also a colour program where you can get a really good idea of what it will look like (don't know whether you have seen that yet or not). http://www.skydivewings.com/ How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  10. Not even close to being a TM but I love the joke our TM plays on people. When he gets one with a video and is connecting one of the top attachments he has a really puzzled look on his face and just clicks the hook - makes out like he can't get it connected - then hooks it in and has a relieved look on his face for the camera! They don't notice it until they watch their video but it cracks me up every time!
  11. I have to admit I have never heard of them!? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  12. What kind of rental gear do you guys have? We have all Wings containers that are adjustable - I'm 5'4" and one of the other novices is well over 6' (probably 6'3" at least) and all of the containers adjust to fit both of us! 13. You just have to get the leg straps done up tight enough - and it takes a while to learn what is most comfortable! =) My container at the moment is quite a bit too long for me so I have to do the leg straps up as tight as they can go - and I can tell you our student gear here is a LOT more comfortable! 14. Will try and remember that for future stuff ups! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  15. I didn't try it again! =) Have you ever forgotten to turn it on? We have a C182 so it takes a while to get to height and to conserve the batteries we usually turn on the radio's just before exit. I think I had to turn on my radio under canopy 3 times... 16. I'm not an instructor but I can pass on advice given to me by my instructors: High altitude Hop n Pops - I bought a new rig and did 4, my first being from 6,000ft then the others from about 5. H&P's are good because you don't need to concentrate on anything but your canopy control - there is no freefall to worry about etc etc, not to mention you get the bonus of lovely soft openings! =) I suggest talking to your instructors - they have the jumps and the knowledge - use it! What my instructors said made perfect sense to me so I did it and I absolutely love my canopy now! Good luck whatever you decide to do... 17. No offense taken - my problem is mainly that I'm a klutz. My instructors have given me advice on landing but it just doesn't want to work...I'm hoping I've got it sorted now! =) How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  18. Ok I'm not going to be offensive to anyone but myself: AFF 1 - Everything was going really well, I had gone ok in freefall, canopy opened nicely, I even remembered to check it! Did a flare, couple of turns following my JM's instructions on the radio then one of my toggles got stuck up in the riser (wouldn't be a problem now but it freaked me out a bit at the time) and my JM told me to turn right...well I couldn't and I tried to tell him I couldn't! Then he stopped talking to me!!! Luckily I was still calm enough to turn around left and managed to get the toggle out to flare on landing... Then to make matters worse I had a go at my JM for not talking to me!! He then proceded to tell me that the radio's are one way unless I take it out of the helmet and press the lovely little button on the side! Which he didn't recommend at 1000ft above a desert full of spinifex (a lot of fun to find it again)! Good story - nobody got hurt and it provides a bit of entertainment for anyone who hears it! =) How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  19. I never actually slide on my knees - it's more of a modified PLR! =) I'm a bit of a klutz so I've learnt how to fall and not hurt myself - I actually went out one day and planned a PLR and really bruised myself so I thought I would stick to how I want to fall over. I am improving though - that first jump of the day was just a low wind so I was coming in a bit faster than what is normal. The next two were fine - stand ups! =) How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  20. Why would you want to? I mean I'm pretty wired for my music but I wouldn't have even considered it.... How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  21. I just ordered my brand new WINGS the other week! Hopefully it will get here by the time I have learnt to land on my feet so that I don't get it tooooooo dirty! =) All of the student gear at our DZ are Wings containers and they are so comfortable! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  22. I just had one of the late flare landings on the weekend! Brand new jumpsuit (by the way I usually land on my knees so I went for the padded knees and didn't think I needed the padded bum!) and almost nil wind! Not used to that! =) Bit of a "later than it should have been" flares and got pulled along on my unpadded, new jumpsuit covered bum! But at least it was entertainment! I found only in the past 3-4 jumps (have 34 now) that I've actually worked out where I should be flaring - might just be a perception problem with me... How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  23. Glad to hear they both came off so well! And a big thumbs up on the stand-up landings! (I still haven't got the hang of it I've got about 4 stand up landings out of 25 jumps!). When do you jump again? I take it the nerves have gone now? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  24. The two sigma tandems we have we also use for our training tandems so the students have to be able to reach the handle. It's like a little golf ball on a spring that you pull. How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
