  1. Just a thought....how much beer do you think he would have to buy if he actually did it? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  2. I'm definitely not qualified here! But the deep breaths idea is fantastic! I have done a tandem (on the front though!) and I had trouble with my breathing so that instruction to take deep breaths would have been a good idea! *thumbs up* How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  3. Wait for him to drop the price! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  4. Hacker AND scammer!? Not a very nice person! Have you told Sunshineelec about it? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  5. I think the main problem we have here is that people who fall in the right bracket in the chart really aren't too worried - but the people who are jumping smaller than what is on the chart will oppose it. I know I would - I wouldn't be able to jump my canopy for another 130 jumps or so. I work on a minesite where the safety rules cater for the stupidest person - this is the same...this chart has been proposed because the "stupid" percent of the skydiving population will jump a canopy that is way beyond their abilities and they will hurt themselves! So then we think - how do we stop that? Sorry, I just think it's a little unfair for you guys out there that have proven that you are safe on your "small" canopy but this chart will not let you jump it. How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  6. IMHO - Sounds like a scam! I had someone hijack my ebay and yahoo accounts and try to sell swiss watches - this is almost word for word! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  7. Would there be a difference? I've never really thought about it...I have a narrow one and it has never bothered me. How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  8. Me too! I used to horse ride and the very first thing I was taught: If you fall off get straight back on! Although I think I would have not just been apprehensive...I would have been TERRIFIED! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  9. Isn't it really up to the DZSO or the CI to give the final yay or nay? I mean even if someone is ok to jump a 150 on the chart but has shown consistently that they don't have the skills to land safely then wouldn't the CI/DZSO refuse to let them jump anything smaller than say, a 170/190? If your CI doesn't have confidence in your abilities to land (SAFELY) the canopy you want to jump - then too bad! You don't jump it! I'm planning a trip to NZ and a couple of the dz's I've spoken to are a little wary of me jumping the canopy I'm on (Safire 169) at 40 jumps. I've been jumping this for the last 20 jumps so I'm confident about landing it - I don't try any low turns, swooping or anything like that. And it's still large enough that I'm usually one of the last in the air so I don't really have to worry about people swooping in front of me. I know I still have a LOT to learn about my canopy but I'm planning to be on it for at least another 100 jumps (or more probably). But the point I'm trying to make is that my CI made the decision to let me jump this canopy based on my abilities. Not my jump numbers... If I couldn't demonstrate a text book set up and awareness under canopy consistently he wouldn't have let me jump it! Sorry this turned into "my $1.00" instead of "my $0.02)... 10. I saw the info on Go Fast about this - considering that the other guy is on a small canopy that he lands (Icarus VX 39!) and the guy in the wingsuit isn't going much faster than him under canopy...I think it's possible. Would love to see it!
  11. I still forget to arch out the door sometimes! =) Only for a second or two - usually on the first jump of the weekend... I did my course as AFF not static line so of course I'm a fan of AFF. I don't understand where you want to go though - do you want to do your AFF eventually or not? I mean if you are going to do it anyway you might as well start now (people who have never jumped before can make it past stage one! ) but if you can get your A licence without doing AFF then wouldn't it be a LOT cheaper? 12. Chinese whispers maybe? I think this is worse! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  13. I have a Safire2 169 and I love it - openings are pretty much guaranteed to be nice no matter how you pack it (I'm still trialling different ways of packing) and on my wingloading (1.1) it's an extremely forgiving canopy. Of course with the higher wingloading you will get more of a performance canopy (the guy I bought it off is a LOT bigger than me and he loved it too). I like it! A couple of months ago we had a TM do recurrency and I thought it would just be so much fun to go up there and pretend to be the worst tandem ever! Do everything you can, foetal position, arms going everywhere etc etc... How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  15. I don't like to say it...but I'm glad I don't live in the USA. I'm 7 square feet smaller than the minimum for my jumps and exit weight. How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  16. I also say chute...and I'd like to think I'm a step above a "whuffo"
  17. Well it doesn't look like we're going anywhere! We are a small DZ with a Cessna 182! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  18. It's an Australian company (I'm in Aus) but Cookie is very well known over here. I have a cookie standard helmet that I can convert into a camera helmet whenever I want to... And the customer service is absolutely fantastic!!
  19. Cookie helmet!! Very very comfortable... How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  20. We had a guy come out to do his AFF - to start with he was terrified of the DZ dog who has to be the laziest, sookiest dog you will ever meet...he came down from his tandem as white as a sheet and about as quiet as one too! But still went up for his AFF 1 - I don't know all the details of the freefall so I won't say anything incase I get it wrong (but it was BAD!) but under canopy he wouldn't listen to the instructor and ended up crash landing way out in the spinifex and just lying there until they went and rescued him! We haven't actually seen him in a while - I think maybe he decided by himself that skydiving wasn't the sport for him!
  21. Well I've had a couple of jumps in a row now where I seem to have hit the right spot and had lovely landings where I didn't even have to take a step! Needless to say I was pretty proud of myself (especially considering my past record!)... How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  22. Go for the Nationals! We are going over to NZ and out first week will be spent up at BOI at the Nationals! =) How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  23. Yeah, but it was funny! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  24. Ear infections are bad - I had a bad one a while ago and I could hardly even keep my balance while walking! Let alone trying to stay stable in free fall!!! How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
