Have You Ever Fudged YOUR Jump Numbers?
hjumper33 replied to katiebear21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A little off topic, but when can I start signing my own jumps. Is it C or D, cause that seems to be the hardest part of logging to me. -
Ive never ordered a suit, but my girlfriend bought me pantz for my birthday, ordered in early feb. got them in mid july, and they are hardly as complicated as a wingsuit.
-
I have an HC42 that I got on closeout and I absolutely love it. Shoots great video, only pain in the ass is that you need the dock to transfer from camera to camera.
-
Whenever this topic gets brought up, the person who wants to land the suit talks about "funding to develop the technologies needed". What technology are they talking about? I feel like the proposition of landing a wingsuit, as was just brought up, should involve two technologies, an airplane, and a wingsuit.

Thanks to those who chimed in on the original post. Putting a little bend in my legs helped a ton with vertical speed as did leaning over and putting a little bit of curve in my back. Dropped down to 53 average on my best jump today with some deffinate room for improvement in stability.

Subject pretty much sums it up. Just wondering what im getting myself into 3rd and 4th year and how much it affected your jumping.
-
I think its crazy that I got my license a little over a year ago and i was only 47k. close to 3000 new As in a year!

Started by getting a athletic scholarship to college and still working my ass off during the summer. Moved out of the midwest to go to medical school in california (of course skydiving wasnt a consideration ) and I live in a really cheap apartment and use my extra loan money to jump and still live like a poor college student otherwise. If you are willing to work for it, theres always money around for what you want it for. p.s. I didnt do it because i didnt know about it, but a really cheap way to get into the sport is to do static line jumps. Find a DZ near you that offers it!

Have You Ever Fudged YOUR Jump Numbers?

Ironically the only time ive thought about fudging is when asking questions on here. I got wingsuit training for a very very experienced wingsuit instructor and then when I tried to ask questions with 160 jumps all I got was, go get more jumps first and then ask that question. Ok sorry, let me go do 40 hop n' pops and maybe youll answer my question. I think reminding someone to get proper instruction or training is great when they ask something that could be advanced for their level, but occasionally answer the question after mocking them too!!! -
Sorry, didnt feel like updating, more like 230 jumps. Also, metal shop sounds like a good idea, and will probably do a much more professional job.
-
For being french, that is actually incredibly helpful, thanks.

Ive got my cameye, camera, and helmet ready to go, but what can people suggest for an L bracket from home depot or someplace like that. What size and type screws did you use, and what did you use to dril the plate itself?
-
does anyone know of unedited video of any of these jumps. I would kind of like to hear what a wingsuit sounds like passing by while standing on solid ground.
-
If both teams knelt on the ball the whole game, and then went to a 4th overtime before they started to actually play, wouldnt they have to rematch for the NC?
-
Norcal has several popular DZs already also, a CASA would draw, but youve got to consider how many people are committed to a DZ already, and how many are close enough to pay whatever youll have to charge for CASA loads. (especially when Bill charges $13 to full altitude in a kingair/beech/otter)

Im usually in the lower 60s, with one or two in the upper 50s. I havent gotten to jump with a GPS so I cant say how accurate those are because they come from my protrack. Im about 6'1 195 otd.
-
Those that jump or have jumped them, whats your best. Got about 15 jumps on one now and looking to gage my performance.
-
Im downloading music and thought this would be a good place to ask this. Whats a song that you listen to to get pumped up. My personal favorites, Blurr: song 2 and Red Hot Chili peppers: fortunes faded.

Looking to buy a new GPS that can track my horizontal and vertical speed, function when im hiking in the middle of nowhere, and sit on my dash when im lost in the middle of somewhere. All that, and id like something relatively cheap as far as GPS goes. Any suggestions?

Haha, I actually just signed up yesterday after much pressure from friends. http://www.myspace.com/hjumper33

When I was running more, 4:26 mile, but was more of a sprinter in high school, and only a jumper in college.

So by rearranging the letters in my full first and last name, I can spell...

Mine had too many combos to even try to sort through. My personal favorite i saw. A lewd dancer slurs, uh Kirk. -
College degree - do you do what you went to school for?
hjumper33 replied to FlyingJ's topic in The Bonfire
Got a degree in molecular and cellular biology, masters in reproductive biology, and now working on my MD. So yes I guess, although im pretty drunk right now and about to go see the borat movie. -
mine says JUMPN33 but it is completely unrelated to skydiving as I was once a collegiate high jumper. Got a lot of crap from people at DZs when I first started who thought id gone out and gotten license plates after 10 jumps.

I had a Spectre 170 in my J1 with a 150 reserve and it pack very very tight. I cant imagine a 160 reserve with a 169 9 cell main will work out very well.
