    A while ago there was a link posted here where some airforce guys had taken a handy cam and videoed their high speed low level flight. I just remember these guys being a few feet above the water and seeing the jet shadow in the video clip. I can't seem to find out the link info but if someone remembers the post I'm referring to and can point me to the video clip I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.     "Dirty" looking Vectran is quite normal. There's nothing that I know that you can do about it, nor should it concern you. With Vectran, what you should be looking for is 'pitting'. Look for excessive amounts of fibres sticking out the side of the lines (looks a little like fluff). Vectran starts out wheat yellow and goes grey rather quickly it's nothing to be concerned about.     If you cannot get your Katana to go just as far (if not further than a XF2 - I say that having flown both in comparable sizes) coming back from a bad spot then it's certainly not the canopies fault. Hell the KA out glides the Pilot (not a same category canopy I know) by a LONG way. Once again I say this having jumped a KA and Pilot in similar (104 and 107) sizes. Flatter glide isn't always better. It baffles me why some people are convinced that because a canopy 'natural trim' is steeper that they think they can't get back as easily. If that's the case it's most likely the pilot and/or the technique they're using.     PD used to offer (still do actually) the Vengence in Spectra or Vectran. 3 guesses which option people never chose Seems like the market is better educated now but there will always be jumpers who don't maintain their gear and will then complain to the manufacturer that their line(s) broke after 500 jumps. Spectra is far more forgiving of poor maintenance skydivers.     How do you plan on attaining fellowship with segregation? There are female swoopers now that are competing(there were some at the CPC finals). Next year I expect there will be more. It's as inclusive as YOU make it But chosing to sit on the sidelines only isolates yourself - no one else.     Just because YOU have that assumption doesn't make it factual. Considering Tonto and I share the same birthplace I know he was including South Africa in his "western blame" comment. I don't believe for a second it was meant to be inflamatory - quite contrary he was saying we should learn from this and stick together. Least that's what I took from it

    Negative, Ghostrider I view it in the same light as an all men, or all deaf or all 'X' record. A group of people with something in common setting a record. Your example happens to be a womans record. It could be any record. I think those are perfectly fine. When it comes to competition, though, I have a different opinion. There, IMO, the categories should be seperated by skill alone - not gender, race, height, eye color or anything else. I hold my same argument about 9 cell canopy competitions to this argument too. You shouldn't need a special class to compete (in skydiving). You either compete in your skill level or you don't. Continuing to segregate and seperate at every opportunity drives competion down IMO. You get a small select group competing against themselves instead of a larger group with more people to learn from. Agreed On a side note - I'm expecting a call from you any day now.....let us know day/night anytime

    All physical sports where 99% of the cases there's a limiting strength issue. In skydiving that is non-existent IMO. "Womans" classes in this sport are entirely unnecessary. I know of plenty of hot shit swoopers, rw and FF'ers. No need to springboard anyone...certainly not anymore. Hell at our DZ there are just as many, if not more, female skydivers...and yes, life is good
