the pictures of him just coming into the league are mind boggling; he was RAIL thin, almost scrawny. They posted some side by sides on ESPN and I can honestly say I was speechless. I am not sure where to even start? Taking steroids is just so fundamentally wrong, so I will put that aside. What leaves a sour taste in my mouth are the stories of entitlement and reverse racism. I heard he told a young white kid that he doesn't SIGN for "rich white kids". Stories about his disregard for teammates, pushing people around. The whole Jeff Kent debacle happened because he was tired of Bonds' shit. I mean, who could blame him? Finally, what really bugs me is that he is so undeniably great, he doesn't need the steroids. Two years ago, while chasing the record, he would get one or two chnaces (pitches, not at bats) to just get a hit and he would park one. Bonds the player is amazing, the man is totally bankrupt. The Rose/Bonds question is interesting. I would have to go with Rose getting in as well. The man played his heart out, hustled old school (who EVER does THAT anymore), and nobody can ever take that away from him. Now, as a person, well, we all know how that turned out. I just hope he has gotten some help.
