OK, I'll bite then. I have a whopping 208 jumps. For the past 35 or so, I have been jumping a Sabre1-120 that I just got relined which I plan to stay on for the next year or so. I have played with fronts somewhat, doing 90's or maybe even 135ish on final to get some speed and have played with using rears and then finishing the flare on landing to get the longest glide/surf/swoop/whatever. It seems that I usually always start the 90 too early - which I suppose is much better than late. So, what really then is a "swoop"? A glide above the ground of at least X feet? Any other related advice welcome.

Thanks for the review. About what I expect. Ditto on that IMAX for Adrenaline Rush - MAKE SURE YOU LET ALL US BAY AREA PEEPS KNOW IF IT HAPPENS!

...should arrive from my Netflix queue tomorrow. Anyone seen it and is it any good?

GravityGirl is there half the time - it MUST be good!

Replace it with a Sabre1-170....sans pocket slider. No more slow openings!

Your other option doesn't fit my preference. It fits my "most often" though, which is cream no sugar. When I drive to work (usually 1-2 days per week. Otherwise on a tight schedule to take the bus.), I make myself a Greek Coffee at home. The only REAL coffee.

Ministry of Silly Walks - possible inspiration for the Python skit
Elisha replied to sundevil777's topic in The Bonfire
Over the past couple of months, I've been watching many of the Flying Circuses and other documentary Python stuff. The silly walks skit is defintely among the better ones. -
The rigger discovered it was wrong while installing it and then had to call to let them know and have them figure it out. They don't keep them stocked.

OK. Thanks guys.

I'm just curious how long it takes a manufacturer to build a lineset. A certain manufacturer sent me the wrong one (their fault), and I'm just a little pissed...since it delays me by at least a week from getting in the air again. Don't want to say anymore.

Awesome article. Keep up the writing!

Austrailian jumpers! do you know this canopy?
Elisha replied to teason's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey, buddy! The correct skydiving term is Farmer McNasty. Get your terminology straight! -
Nightingale, You didn't seem to be the most bad-ass, karate chick from my brief meeting of you at the Byron Boogie. Do you by chance have some video you can post/link to to demonstrate? The guy in an office around the corner from me is a 2nd or 3rd degree black belt in Budo - has had a lot of weapons training. During a group lunch presentation (a "fun" presentation - I did one and unpacked/packed my canopy during mine), he showed some video of him sparring and such. Looked almost as cool as skydiving.

Tensile strength of a pull-up cord
Elisha replied to Elisha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You just need something wider that will distribute the load better. Check with a rigger or the DZ and see if you can get some old harness webbing. 2 in. width vs. 3/4 in. will make a big difference. Kevin Good idea. I wonder if some old leg pads would be available too? This $100 yoga thing has big eyehold screws to screw into the wall, straps, and pads to make hanging comfortable. I'd like to avoid putting big holes in my walls though (and spending 5 jump tix for something that lets me hang upside down comfortably). -
Tensile strength of a pull-up cord
Elisha replied to Elisha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, to report back, I did succeed in hanging myself by my feet using to pullup cords tied together. I had to put my cooler on top of a chair to get myself in a position to put my feet in them though. Even after putting socks on though, the pullup cords cut into my feet enough that it was uncomfortable at best. Guess I might just have to get a real yoga hanging harness or whatever it is called. -
Woa. That's different.

What is the origin? or did your parent(s) just like the name? Old Testament. Dad was a Jesus freak in the 70's. My real first name is much more obscure Old Testament.

My screen name.

Nah, my back muscles are way too strong and distorted to let that happen in freefall. Stupid crooked spine for making my back muscles too big and unbalanced...

I think the Niton material may be even more slippery than a Pilot. It sure sucked ass when I packed the 170 rental from Action Air a couple of years back. Stupid me...wanted to pack the same one I was renting. I like (or should I say, don't quite so much hate) packing my Sabre-120 into a 150 d-bag.

If yous guys are still around at around 6 pm or so PT, then maybe I'll stop by.

2.5 yrs....and about 1.5 too long. I need to get out of here. Had an interview just over a week ago, but haven't heard back yet.

Yes, I've read about this plenty but never witnessed this nonesense in practice. This is the most retarded thing ever. You southerners need to be re-edgumucated or something.

Yeah, what's this thing you call 'static line'? It seems like it is a small minority now.
