  1. (Not like I should be concerned with anything related to a JVX at this point other than not getting one), but WTH is this "sail" stuff you speak of? Is it just some different material that the canopy is made from? When I think of a sail, I think of some strange fin sticking up out of the top of the canopy.

    Casino Royale...

...which is Die Another Day. The same movie these lame haters here are saying was "horrible". C'mon people! It is James Bond you're talking about! It's not supposed to be real! He is allowed to pull off whatever fake sh*t he wants!
  3. Indeed. Have a good one, Brandon.
  4. It's the jews' fault they're expensive...or that's what my Jewish friend told me.
  5. 0:1:0 Quick, 40-min in and out drive through jump on the way to meet parents and grandparents for g-ma's b-day dinner.

    Casino Royale...

BLASPHEMY!!! All you haters need to go get kicked hard in the nuts! There is NO bad Bond film - they all rock! The only ones that can be dissed are the unofficial films of (the first) Casino Royale and the Thunderball remake of Never Say Never Again.
  7. Did not know that...trying to catch up to Krisanne?
  8. I think I've had line twists a few times....maybe even 4 or 5 once, but I cleared them pretty easily. I think my WL was around 0.9 at the time. Oh, and my brain has malfunctioned a few times causing me to make some poor decisions.
  9. wouldn't a senior rigger know that ? I guess I should add, that the brake lines are fine. Slight slack in full flight - that was the first thing I checked. I was hoping to see if the was characteristic of the diablo. What about line trim? Could they be reasonably out of trim?
  10. Yeah...saw that too and it pissed me off that some porn chick stole my name. I will say that Spizzarko's article about maintaining altitude (his tip-toe thing) has helped.
  11. Ahhhhh sorry I am used to Elijah spelling...now I get it also if you get a chance look up someone who might know how you feel right now and have a talk to him... His name is Allan Tompkin and if you find him tell his punkass to email me... Dave If you look at my avatar, Elijah is the orange fuzz that is supposed to be a a flaming chariot ascending to heaven and Elisha is on the ground and has just received the mantle from Elijah. Allan Tompkin? There is some Allan at Byron frequently - I think he lives in a trailor there. I don't know his last name though.
  12. ignorance is bliss Elisha was the name of a Biblical prophet Thank you, not so ignorant one. And Phoenixplr, no, I didn't pick my name - it was given to me by my parents. Elisha is my middle name.
  13. I don't want wind! But to answer Marinho's question, next windy day (plenty of them at Byron) I'll be able to hopefully see the canopy weather (no pun intended) the bumps better than before. Now...back to the swoop thing...go read AggieDave's respone again - how are we defining a swoop? If I do a regular straight in approach and two-stage flare (holding half brakes to plane out or "surf" or "swoop") in stead of doing one, slow smooth motion, am I swooping?
  14. Oh, I'm calm...just that you guys need to hit yourselves for calling me a chick...you gay vampire thing.
  15. Common on Elisha, give us a feedback how's your canopy is flying in comparison with the old lines!!! Cheers, Well, I think I may need some of that Byron wind (there wasn't really any on Sunday!) to test better - to see it hopefully keep shape better. It definitely felt more uniform and seemed to flare more evenly (which would make sense since the lower steering lines are not 2" out of trim anymore). I'm happy.
  16. I'M A GUY!!!! Yes, I know JP - he did my first tandem!
  17. Thanks...but this brings up something I've been wondering for a little while that I don't think has been covered. When I read any of these suggested WL charts, I see nothing about jump frequency - just # of jumps. I know this is not what they mean, but it almost implies that I should have immediate carte blanche license to go purchase a crossbrace once I hit jump #x01 (or 1 more than the limit of the chart). Hex says "currency". I'm guessing he really means frequency. I'm plenty current. The SIM says I need to do at least one jump in the last 60 days for an A License holder. I need to study my C License requirements so I can push this...you know, in the unlikely event I move out of California. Semantics aside, I haven't seen anything yet that recommends like: Regardless of total jump#s, if you jump
  18. Thanks...but you still need to hit yourself for referring to me as a chick...or I could get Amazon to hit you and Hexadecimal even harder.
  19. I got in a couple of jumps last weekend - did you? I have 81 so far this year, 69 last year and the rest prior before I owned gear. You say this as if I'm trying to do 270s, jumping a crossbrace and swoop ponds...which I'm not.
  20. Sweet! I may have gotten a couple of 50fters! I'm sure your right...the amount of this though will depend on my own goals and economic factors though.
  21. Well, I jumped my newly relined canopy this weekend.
