For 90 jumps, I jumped a Sabre1-150, Mfg 3/91. I sold it a month ago and it is currently in use. It has probably ~1000 or so jumps on it - fine jumping condition. Probably 2nd or 3rd lineset (trim isn't too bad according to Bonnie around 50 jumps ago). Take care of it and it will last.

In hindsight from my wisdom teeth removal, I think I would have been fine...but that was my operation which was way less painful than I had anticipated.

Completely different. Riggers in a small industry where many people know each other and Large Fast Food chains are not comparable.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll drop the guilt now.

Grocery store? Definitely not. Hair dresser? Not really. Auto mechanic? A little bit. I guess it depends on the industry and what type of service is being done.

This is mostly for Riggers. I have a question regarding etiquette. Here is/was my situation: My reserve was up for it's regular repack. I was initially planning on taking my rig to to the rigging loft at my usual location, but the weather at this location (DZ#1) was unsuitable for jumping on the particular day I wanted to take my rig in for repack. I decided to go to a different DZ where the weather was suitable for jumping and then left my rig with the Rigger at this DZ (DZ#2) for a repack. The rigging loft at DZ#1 has a fair amount of business and I'm sure they would not have noticed my lack of business for this repack. I trust both riggers, so quality is not an issue in my book. I realize that I'm the customer and can take my business where I want to, but at the same time have a slightly feeling of "disloyalty" for my decision, even though my decision was based on one of 1) where I was able to jump on this particular day before a needed repack and 3) convenience of location. What are your thoughts on this as to both "customer loyalty" and "hurt feelings"/etiquette. Thanks.

So a funny thing happened on the way to work today . . .
Elisha replied to turtlespeed's topic in The Bonfire
I have only worked as a "coffee guy" at my church's annual food festival, but have been the night crew checker at a Safeway. Depending on my mood, I might have just used my right to refuse service to anyone and shown him the door. -
The instructor is probably looking for 'habe'. I guess 'gehe' would also work.

But it will NEVER happen again. ...I'm just sad that the Boogie couldn't have WAITED until the first weekend in October so I can come. There is always next year. See you again soon, Sean & Krisanne.

Thanks for making a mention for one of those that most of never knew (me included). It is nice to know that EVERYONE who has touched the sport is remembered.

Which is that? Cloverdale is NOT suffering, but growing. There is even a King Air parked that we hope gets used someday. They have 10 tandems scheduled for Monday, so I'm heading up there tomorrow to get in a jump or two.

0:4 (I included the one jump on Friday too):x2 Jump#3 yesterday was my first toilet-paper tracking dive (it didn't unroll fast enough, so I just ditched both rolls at deployment time) and first jump on a sub-100 canopy, EgoMike's Crossfire2-99. I waited until the winds went up to 15 or so - not much forward speed.
-
And I'll be in St. Louis NOT skydiving. I'll miss you guys. At least there's always next year.

There is a cost for everything.

Well, you know, when I saw him a month ago, I expected him to be all like this a**hole n' sh*t. But he was actually rather nice. I was like, so disappointed. -

Blue Skies Wyat Drewes-Condolence Thread and Memorial Info

Sad to hear...Blue Skies. Never met him, but did see him & co at the American Boogie this year. The Parabatix video is still one of my favorites. Anyone have a link to any news articles? Surprised I couldn't find anything online yet if this happened a few days ago. -
There's a guy named Walter, who lives in Healdsburg, CA and used to jump at Lodi a lot (maybe still does - has been coming to Cloverdale lately) who is over 80...maybe 81 or 2 or 3. I was on a 5-way with him on 6/30. Amazing...he flies a Stiletto!

Vanna White is clearly the most intelligent woman in America.
Elisha replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
she better be. How old is Vanna by now? 60? 65? Nah, she just turned 50 this year and still looks fantastic. -
Haven't tried, but I can open one with a house key (at least my parent's house key) reasonably quickly.

Hey, it has a nice see-through door! A groovy scenic tour!

0:10:1 I guess I'll bring some beer to Byron next time for my first night jumps. Its a whole new world up there in the dark. Lotsa fun this weekend at the American Boogie,

PARTY! Today around this time I hope to be making about my fifth jump I hate you people that are already there.

It wasn't obvious?
