Ouch. I feel your pain, i had to do the same thing in July. We were out late at a "Christmas in July" event and there were no spots in my apartment complex when I got home. Parked in the car wash slot b/c I reasoned I would only be there for 3 hours before I had to get up and go to work. Went to move it right when I got up and there was ANOTHER car parked there! Had to pay to get my car back and I don't think the other car got towed. My brother said the moral of the story is that there is no Christmas in July. For all those who are super confused and are wondering WTF Bolas IS talking about, here's a kind of condensed version... 2fat2fly sent out an e-mail yesterday to a group of us about a "fake" event where he would bring in specialty aircraft (a Mustang, bomber, etc.) to Mobile. He had sent an e-mail earlier to everyone on the list except for PsychoBob saying that this was not a real event, he just wanted to trick Psycho since he would be in Vietnam during this timeframe. This is not all that farfetched of an idea, because they did bring in a Bomber to Destin last year and did beach jumps, which PsychoBob was a part of. So we all start replying back to the e-mail chain saying "Awesome!" and "Can we do beach jumps?" and talking about travel arrangements and so forth. PsychoBob first replies he wants to go, then replies that he'll be in Vietnam. 1st thing this morning when I check my e-mail PsychoBob has replied that he has changed his flight and hotel for Vietnam to be able to come to this and it cost him $1000 and he sure hopes the weather is good and the planes don't cancel. That's when Bolas made this post. PsychoBob then says that 2fat2fly told him that this was all Bolas' idea and he just got Shane to send out the e-mail. Shane has agreed to pay PsychoBob 1/2 of the $1000 and he expects Bolas to make up the rest. PsychoBob didn't really change his flight, and according to him the whole thing was his idea to prank the rest of us. I'm still not entirely sure who exactly came up with the whole thing, but it was very entertaining while it lasted. A Psycho pack is not the same thing as a trash pack. There is a method to it and if it's done properly I don't see what the problem is. I have had bad openings with Pro packs. Severe line twists, slammers, etc. I've had 1 slammer since I've been psycho packing and no line twists. Probably 100 jumps Pro packed and 300 psycho packed. Not saying it will be perfect every time, but this method gives me good openings and is MUCH less frustrating to me on the ground. I can even pack my brand new canopy and get it in the bag with no trouble. Line twists can be caused by any number of factors and are not necessarily caused by the packing method. This is by far the best dropzone for up-jumpers that I have been to, and I've been to quite a few DZ's. Hans is awesome, he makes sure everyone is taken care of and finds people to jump with. Along with the bizillion other things he does. The landing area is huge, I love how they separate the swoopers and how clear-cut the landing pattern is. They run specials once a month...it's now $18 jumps and $139 tandems. Still the best prices anywhere around here. My *only* complaint is all the dogs in the packing area. Hans says this will change when they get new carpet. I love the Farm!

I saw a news clip this morning that said a toddler was killed in a bouncy house over the weekend by 2 adults that jumped and landed on top of him. I had to watch it to make sure that didn't happen at the Farm, you never know with all the toddlers running around. Guess those bouncy houses are not only dirty, they are also dangerous. I Psycho pack and I love it. I have a Pilot. The openings are great, although my canopy still snivels about 800 - 1000'. So I'm not sure switching to Psycho packing would speed up your openings. You could try quartering the slider vs. halving the slider and see what effects that has on your opening speed, that's the easiest way I've seen to make a change in opening speed. I wasn't really sure if all these "count", but I counted 6 for myself this year... 1. Dublin - I was on the memorial jump for Bob and Danny the day following the accident. 2. DeLand for Bob Holler's ash dive 3. Emerald Coast - memorial jump for Johnny Mauney during the Memorial Day boogie 4. Lost Prairie - there was a memorial jump/ash dive while I was there for the boogie although I didn't know the people involved in that plane crash... 5. The Farm for Beezy's ash dive 6. The Farm for Shrek's ash dive this past weekend, although it didn't happen due to weather I'm still counting that as a memorial jump for this year. It's been a rough year. I like that, but think it would be better if you just put "Be Rude not to!" or "It'd be rude not to". I don't think I ever heard him say the "would" in that phrase. Or it could just have Lee Gerrard and the dates on one side and Skinnyshrek on the other patch design I think....maybe a picture of Shrek under a canopy with a camera helmet on his head? Or in freefall shooting video, or jumping out of the plane for a hop & pop...something with an image of Shrek skydiving (with a camera helmet). I'm no artist though. Just some thoughts...
