I used to put my parents, then decided on my attorney. My parents know him and like him - I'd rather they get a call from him if it ever came to that. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

What's Your Favorite Part of the Skydive?
ntrprnr replied to mattyblast's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wore my HRM last summer while doing my first solo while I was getting my A. If I remember correctly, I was at something like 148 during final gear check, and then during free-fall it started dropping, under canopy was back to around 100... Stayed there till around 10 mins after landing. I'm sure it'll be a trifle bit lower now... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." -
That I'm excited about Weird Al's new album dropping on the 26th of Sept? http://www.weirdal.com/ I mean, have I crossed some kind of "can't go back to a cool guy" line? Assuming I was ever a cool guy... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Walk into the New Balance store today. "Hi, I'd like a pair of the 765's, size 14, EEE, please." "Oh, the 765 was replaced by the 766." "But the 765 had the PERFECT arch support for my runs." "Yes, but the 766 is improved." "How?" "It provides more arch support!" "But that, for me, would be too much arch support." "Oh. Well, perhaps you'd like the 767's?" "The 767's? You jusyt tried to sell me the 766's." "Yes, well the 767's have a little less arch support than the 766's." "But more than the 765's?" "Yes." "And you're no longer selling the 765's?" "No." "Can I get them online?" "Yeah, you should try eBay. People buy them and then resell them once we stop making them." "So I can go online and buy sneakers that are more expensive because you've made better sneakers here except they don't fit me." "Pretty much, yeah." "OK. Thanks." Why does New Balance do this? What financial gain is there to stopping one line when you introduce the next? ESPECIALLY with New Balance - We're the most rabid and loyal fan base this side of Macintosh computers. It's very frustrating. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

A few ideas... Depending on the laptop, you can "condition the battery." See if yours came with software to do that. Uninstall/reinstall the battery monitor - this helps sometimes, makes the system aware. with the system plugged in, do a BIOS upgrade, if one is needed. (Assuming a PC.) Hope one of those helps! PM me if you need more... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Coming out of a half-mile swim in NYC's Hudson River, heading over to the transition point to throw on sneakers for the run. Other than slightly metalic taste, and a somewhat sticky residue that two showers have yet to get rid of, it's a surprisingly clean river. :D _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Bud Reid, oldest Tandem Skydiver, dead of natural causes at 97. http://www.sptimes.com/2006/07/19/Southpinellas/Senior_skydiver_Bud_R.shtml Great quote: "Oh, boy!" he cried as an instructor helped him to his feet after the second jump in October 2002 at Skydive City in eastern Pasco County. Not so much defending myself, but pre-empting the strike that'll come from the obsessed bloggers who will tag that blog entry. http://tinyurl.com/pxw84 Searching on Darren Sherman brings up about 80 or so posts where he's already been outed - As I said, I just wanted to avoid the hundreds of comments saying "how dare you out a private email," when in fact, I didn't. What scares me most about Darren is the fact that he's a big muckity muck (or was, anyway) at the SEC, I think, or the FED. You'd think hed be smarter than that, and would know better than to leave voice mails like that - that's what happens to them. Oh well. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Or, perhaps, why I SHOULD. This is an actual situation from a few weeks ago. Nutshell: Guy went out with the girl. She didn't want a second date. Guy then harasses her to SPLIT THE BILL. You can't make this shit up. More importantly, are people really SO technologically inept that they DON'T THINK that shit like this will wind up online? I mean... Come ON! Have fun. Keep liquids away - you WILL laugh and spit through your nose. http://prdifferently.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/07/how_not_to_act_.html And no, I didn't "out" this guy. It has been forwarded around on email and on the web for the past 3 weeks. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
