I zero every altimeter before every jump mechanical and electrical and only takes like 15 seconds. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

I watched a video of Troy talking about how they did it, canopy was soaked in gas. They were shitting balls on the ride to altitude with a gas soaked canopy sitting in a bucket on the ride to altitude next to them. Was ignited with a flare gun. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. More info about what it did when it died, and what its doing now. Have you checked the basics, getting power, checked manual or pressure switches with multimeter to ensure working, moter have a relay or cap that is not working, breaker triped, fuse blown. What kind of vehicle would you get if your wife totaled hers?

I'm not that big of an asshole John, she trusts my experience and has final say, I'm just trying to narrow down the choices. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along, -

Anvilbrother replied to Anvilbrother's topic in The Bonfire
She was hit by a camry or accord that was way more damaged, said it before but we don't want a car, too many trucks rolling around and 18 wheelers on the interstate. I am a firefighter so I know the value of being in a slightly larger vehicle when it comes to being seen in mirrors and the outcome in collisions. She had a murano, were now looking at the slightly smaller but half the cost Nissan rogue. It's basically the same vehicle as far as features. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Should have clarified, the hour is in traffic, which leads to me wanting a comfortable interior and features for her. The actual mileage is about 15 miles, and any crossover is going to have reasonable well mileage anyways. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along, -

I would like your opinion on new/1-2 year old vehicles for my wife. She was hit by an uninsured person that ran a redlight and totaled her Nissan Murano So we are now in the market for a new vehicle. Im gonna google and check safety crash records and all, but want opinions from friends. She is 30 yrs old drives about an hour to work after dropping off our 4 yo daughter. We dont want a car, or anything like a tahoe or suburban, so something like a crossover like her murano was, but cheaper, we paid 35k for the murano and was paying like 565 a mo for it, too much for the unstable economy of today. I want a reliable brand that is safe, her murano had side seat an curtain airbags, that pretty much saved her life, so safety is a plus for her and my daughter. Thanks for your input it would help us alot -
I agree! I also love the new website and articles

I used a thick wire coat hanger, got all the bends out, doubled it in half, bent the hook, cut to length, made a handle. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

Why do whuffos walk on skydiving gear?
Anvilbrother replied to JohnRich's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Its not just Whuffos, its about 40% of everyone where I jump. I take the time to step completely over, or walk all the way around rigs out of respect. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along, -

It's more if you make more jumps. Even tho your safer with more jumps(current) I guess the added exposure to risk is the reason for the increase Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

Your looking at 3-5 dollars per thousand of coverage per month. It goes by how many jumps you make a year usually under 50-100 to over 100 per year, and if your licensed using current gear. Ive done alot of shopping, and this was about all the same answers I got from the insurance writers. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

What is killing the sport of skydiving?
Anvilbrother replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think as of now the economy(layoffs, no raises), fuel prices(planes, and cars), and the inflated cost of the whole lot, travel, food, cost of gear, etc. Is killing it for the people I know personally, and have discussed this topic with. Back in 2005ish time frame we would go every other weekend and stay in a hotel and jump both days, now its once a month and we only stay one day. Edited to add, this might not be killing the sport but it is killing the number of jumps and money we spend at the DZ, which money and interest is what runs the DZ which is what skydiving is for us. First off I did a search, and did not find anything, so this branched off of a hard opening thread where we were talking about hard openings can/will be caused by sliders not being up to the stops at deployment time. Link to pic of DSC http://www.basejumper.com/Articles/Packing/Direct_Control_685.html Base uses direct slider control to ensure the slider is kept at the stops on slider up jumps by taking a bight of slider via a rubber band on an inner line on one or both sides. Did we ever use this in skydiving to ensure the slider stays up until it is forced down? If so why did it stop, it only takes a second to do so, and although slider being down induced hard openings is something that does not happen all the time, its hard to verify without video that it was the cause, but could prevent it 100%? I used it on my last 3 jumps without issue on my base canopy in my skydiving rig, and did not have issues, just wondering why we dont use it all the time as insurance to keep the slider up through the s folding, bagging and deploy sequence. So why did I go from having pain on every opening and going home every weekend with bruises on my legs before the tandem bands and double wraps to no pain and no marks after? Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

Ive got some thoughts personally on hard openings, how we solved it, and why it might have helped. I have had 3 military 370 mains that have all opened hard. I always flat pack them, and roll each side of the canopy all the way to the A line attachments and shove them in the center cell. I was using regular rubber bands using single stows on the bag using a 36'' non collapsible PC. Opening speeds were from 124-134 mph a reasonable range. Hop n pop openings are super soft as it should. We switched to regular bands on the 4 locking stows single wrapped, and on the 4 outside stows we switched to tandem bands double wrapped which all accept the lines below the cascades gripping them tighter than the other bands used to. This has made the openings very nice, on heading and consistent. I believe that the tandem bands being double wrapped take another 1-1.5 seconds to allow the stows to release allowing the PC to slow my terminal speed even slower before the canopy can come out of the bag and hit the air. They wont make a silhouette bigger than 260 and CPS makes the beefier version for the military in 280 and they wont sell to civilians. SOOOOoooo I decided to go with a Navigator 280, its a hybrid design like the silhouette, and PD said its basically the same thing but bigger and tamer. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone.
