As billvon pointed out, melting icecaps won't cause a sea level rise. Why do some people insist that global warming will cause a rise in sea levels? We are all engines of karma

Big shout out to Brian Germain
StreetScooby replied to StreetScooby's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I took Brian's canopy control course this weekend at The Ranch. It was a life changing experience for me. Brian gives vocabulary, experience, ideas as part of his course. It's like being under a water fall, there's so much information there. And, it doesn't stop Thank you, Brian. We are all engines of karma -
Both the Democratic party and the Republican party have failed our country massively. It's not about the country to them, it's about their party. Our country needs to move past these two political parties. We are all engines of karma

I'm not sure what to think here, anymore. If we can get the Taliban to stand and fight, we'd deal with them pretty quickly. Looks like they're starting to do that. I wouldn't mind seeing our SOF guys going to work in Pakistan. Let's literally put some fear in the AQ folks over there, and make it very personal. We are all engines of karma

I didn't take it that way at all, Marg. I just wanted to build the discussion. I do think our country needs to commit to being a clear winner, militarily if needed. I don't think those threats are really coming from Afghanistan. AQ/Taliban money is coming from other places, and we should be dealing directly with the money people, and forcefully if necessary. That's at a much lower scale. And, I doubt SOx transmission around the globe is as high as that now really bad CO2 molecule. So, we managed to actually measure SOx reductions locally. We won't be able to measure CO2 reductions from our local efforts. Thus, the federal government will have yet another set of numbers they can fudge at will to impose the appropriate taxes on us. This is a corporate governance issue, not a federal governance issue. It needs to be addressed. Corporations happen at the state level. States should make appropriate changes to their law to stop this behavior. We are all engines of karma

Understood. So, CO2 really isn't that dominant after all, then? So, I think we're in agreement that the CO2 effect isn't as much as some are heralding. It's not going to be catastrophic. Yep, my bad. I didn't clearly communicate that one. You can't take the IPCC model and extrapolate it to infinity. So, Waxman's cap and trade will have benefits for whom? We are all engines of karma

But, they only absorb so many photons, before they stop absorbing any more. Thus, the saturation argument. I haven't seen where the IPCC radiant forcing model takes this into account. We includes China and India. Our contributions to that total will be insignificant going forward. And more water vapor, and probably more clouds. We're only talking about 2% of the total energy absorbed and/or reflected from the sun. And, that 2% is NOT coming from our country. I have yet to see how our federal government taxing us will have any benefit in regards to the big picture. It's just going to end up being a huge money flow to the federal government, without having any impact to the stated goal. We are all engines of karma

Can we agree that the federal government needs to shrink, not expand? We are all engines of karma

I'm sure you realize there are many U* numbers published by the govt, only one of which is discussed in the media. We are all engines of karma

Agreed. I know, that's from the Declaration of Independence. Where our leaders declared that power doesn't belong to kings, it comes from the people. We are all engines of karma

Are you an advocate of this? We are all engines of karma

Both the Republican party and the Democratic party have failed our country massively. It's time to move on. It's not about the country to them. It's about their party. We are all engines of karma

Wasn't aware of this. Thanks for posting it. We are all engines of karma

I had read about this guy before. Wow, simply wow. We are all engines of karma

My point through out this thread is that a huge govt tax is overkill on this issue. They will likely end up doing far more harm than good. The debate is no longer rational. For nuclear power to be firmly excluded from an energy program is ridiculous. We are all engines of karma

Need input for survey about Energy Policy

I keep getting the same message when I try to access that web site. Found it on Drudge this morning. I don't doubt this White House can and will resort to shutting down web sites they don't like. Can't believe I said that, but it's becoming more and more of a concern the more I read about Rahm Emanuel. We are all engines of karma

Read this article today: 'Cloud ship' scheme to deflect the sun's rays is favourite to cut global warming http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/globalwarming/5987229/Cloud-ship-scheme-to-deflect-the-suns-rays-is-favourite-to-cut-global-warming.html Considering any impact we may have will be negated by India and China, our govt should not be advocating a huge tax on our economy for their utopian vision. The more I read about this, the more I'm convinced cap-n-trade is simply insane. It'll become another fund for the liberal democrats to spend. We are all engines of karma

Where did you come up with the phrase "Diva"? We are all engines of karma

This could also be seen as being ripe for disinformation, because that's what the White House and Congress is putting out. People are catching onto this. Good for them. We are all engines of karma
