+1 And, probably the "financial reform" that Barney Frank and his guys are pushing. Barney Frank is an equal rewards guy, not an equal opportunity guy. Maybe its a Massachusetts thing? We are all engines of karma

I'm finding it staggering that this far reaching, massive bill, was forced through our Congress. While the debt-o-crats may understand how/why they crafted individual pieces of this legislation, I find it hard to believe anyone can understand it's full impact in the time frame being allotted. The debt-o-crats are trying to force this on us. It's pure government power grab. We are all engines of karma

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/tacit+consent The problem I see with this definition of tacit consent is it does not explicitly account for the sworn duty of those in authority to uphold, let's say the Constitution. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consent_Theory All men are created equal, but they may not end up in equal places. Equal opportunity, not equal reward for different efforts. The federal government is far to large, IMO. It needs to be reduced in size, not expanded. Nor should the federal government be imposing unfunded mandates on states. BTW, one of these links led to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will Once I'm done with the tidbits of my AGW thinking, I might pursue this link. We are all engines of karma

Ok, guys, I'll concede my phrasing on this, and find a better way to word my convictions here. We are all engines of karma

So, sounds like we can agree that you and I have different reads on that text. We are all engines of karma

America is a republic, not a democracy. Government power comes COMPLETELY through CITIZENS who democratically elect politicians. Those politicians are SWORN to uphold the Constitution, whose entire purpose is to ensure a minimal federal government footprint in our lives. So, do you agree with the rules of the system, as defined by my country's Constitution? We are all engines of karma

No one is disputing that. That's why they already have Medicare, and several other programs in place. So, they're not working? Why? We are all engines of karma

Exactly! Damn, you can get hurt out there. Anybody who has EVER been a success in America has been knocked down many times. But, they get back up, keep learning, and they don't stop. That's excellence in practice. And to date, my country has produced an incredible number of excellent people in practice. They shouldn't be penalized just because you're down on your luck, or you quit and decided to watch TV at ANY point in your day. You don't get that do you? We are all engines of karma

I think one of the understated issues in our financial system is that of corporate governance. IMO, that needs to be reworked, but not by Larry Summers. We are all engines of karma

You don't seem to realize that pursuing individual liberty and happiness in America actually carries a price in real life. It can be dangerous out there. If you're good at what you do, even better if you're excellent, there are rewards in our country. If you're not, for what ever reason, there won't be as many rewards. Our government needs to keep a minimal footprint in our life, not a maximum one. That is the purpose of our Constitution. We are all engines of karma

I was referring to Tom's entire reply to you, not just that paragraph. Note the '...' at the end of my reply. We are all engines of karma

What happens when a majority of the people are "on the dole"? +1 What happens when schools have basically failed in educating citizens for a long time now, and we end up with a population that can't make their own decisions, especially under the context of our Constitution? Republics are difficult to keep. +1 Plus, I pray there are enough educated citizens that will vote rationally, in the context of our Constitution. We are all engines of karma

Bowing to Veto Threat, Senate Blocks Money for Warplanes http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/22/business/22defense.html?hp Looks like a bone. Ok, we let you save $2B. But, that plan of yours for $1T, well think about... Comments? We are all engines of karma

Dont You All Just Love the Tranparency of New Open Admin?

I read that article today, and said "Thank goodness". If I could track down his email I would send him a personal thank you. The debt-o-crats are completely out of control right now. We are all engines of karma -
It emits alot of SOX, too. Ask anybody that has him over. The sulphur smell only comes out after an expensive cleaning process. We are all engines of karma

Another interesting article: Obama Admits He’s “Not Familiar” With House Bill http://blog.heritage.org/2009/07/21/morning-bell-obama-admits-hes-not-familiar-with-house-bill So much for his attempts at bipartisanship. But, this is an EMERGENCY! Obama has to do something about this NOW. I realize the Bush Neo-Cons fudged numbers, alot. But the Debtocrats are being incredibly bald faced about the slanted interpretation of numbers. Obama's numbers are not going to add up, other than as an incredibly expensive boondoggle. It'll be interesting to hear which actual version of the bill he's pushing. Apparently, there's many different versions circulating on the hill. Obama is becoming the ultimate scare monger. Everything is an emergency (financial regulation, climate, health), and only he and his guys know how to "fix" it, and it must be done now. Let's hope our Senates puts the brakes on this. Yes, the individual's right to liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness. That comes with a price, called personal responsibility. IMO, the arguments here are revolving around what should be personal responsibility and what our government can impose on us. We are all engines of karma

Don't forget sulphur strippers. But that time, I'm sure we'll be targeting SOX emitters big time. We are all engines of karma
