  1. How so? That's a problem at this point in time with our elected officials. And it needs to stop. Completely unacceptable. We are all engines of karma
  2. DING! DING! DING! I think we have a winner... We are all engines of karma
  3. +1 Both parties have MASSIVELY failed our country. We are all engines of karma
  4. This is f'ing insane. The reason US govt bonds are considered the safest in the world is because of our military (especially those 12 aircraft carriers). If these lunatics in Iran, and elsewhere, actually think we're going "bankrupt", they're going to start something that we will be drawn into. Obama is aggressively, and dangerously, nieve(sp?). We are all engines of karma
  5. While he casually suggests adding $2T to our debt, and advocates states taking loans to pay for operating expenses to support his utopian vision (...read that somewhere recently, and do not have a reference for it). We are all engines of karma
  6. No. I have been an independent for pushing 20 years now. We are all engines of karma
  7. You are consistently and needlessly condescending in your replies to lots of people in this forum. There is no need for that. BTW, I am neither Democrat nor Republican. We are all engines of karma
  8. http://www.cnbc.com/id/29880401?slide=1 The URL shows which countries own the bulk of US debt. China owns $740B (...note the B, for billion), which is 7% of the outstanding gov debt of $11T (...note the T, for trillion). The US Treasury owns 4.8T (...note the T, for trillion). That's 44%, which means WE are our biggest creditors, and we don't seem to have it under control. This absolutely blows me away. I am shocked. Our elected representatives are flat out thieves, and they continue their looting right on prime time TV. This has to stop, and now! edited to add: We owe ourselves 15 times what China is owed. No wonder they scoff at Geithner when he gets up there and says, "I'm not worried, why should you be?" We are all engines of karma
  9. How much does Bill Maher make? We are all engines of karma
  10. +1 We are all engines of karma
  11. Is this a done deal now, or is there still an appeal going on? We are all engines of karma
  12. Thank goodness this guy is doing his job. I cannot imagine the pressure Obama and his guys are going to bring to bear on him. We are all engines of karma
  13. I want to die in my bed. Then, burn me twice. My immediate family dumps me in a storm drain. That drains the pond. At the Ranch. Preferably during a rain storm. We are all engines of karma
  14. Let's try to keep this thread on topic, please. Thanks. We are all engines of karma
  15. +1 Absolutely! And preferably, as pain free as possible. I have seen more than one person walk into a hospital here in Westchester, and _NOT_ be allowed to leave to go and die in their bed. Absolutely outrageous! We are all engines of karma
  16. Interesting line of thinking. Sounds plausible. We are all engines of karma
  17. This is pretty sad. So, are they going to take down all the crosses at Arlington, too? We are all engines of karma
  18. Yep. It's kind of ridiculous. NYC just had to deal with a situation where the ACLU (...I believe) was claiming that many more blacks were being stopped than whites. The police responded by saying, "Well, who's committing the crimes?". Blacks are committing a disproportionately large number of the crimes, thus when they're looking for a bad guy, it tends to be a black person that gets stopped. We are all engines of karma
  19. To be honest, I can get pretty emotional about that. We are all engines of karma
  20. Yes, I can. Have for most of my life. If you think the term debt-o-crat is unbecoming in civil debate, I will happily respect that. We are all engines of karma
  21. Uhm, why isn't there a market for liberal talk radio? We are all engines of karma
  22. I didn't vote for Obama to begin with. We are all engines of karma
