  1. As I said in a previous post, the article we've been discussing doesn't break this down. I asked a simple question, where did you get "1% owns 40%"? We are all engines of karma
  2. S&P downgraded FNMA, FHLMC, DTCC, FICC, and a host of other institutions that rely on the fed govt for the AAA rating. We are all engines of karma
  3. No, you're witnessing out of control spending. Obama is the only president in history whose proposed budget didn't get a single vote in the Senate. The "Tea Party" is taking a stand to save the country. Raising taxes isn't going to solve this issue. Focus should be on spending cuts, as they are orders of magnitude bigger than anything tax revenues can bring in. We are all engines of karma
  4. You're making numbers up. The intent was to have a rational conversation here, not one based on fantasy. We are all engines of karma
  5. Gee, they're giving the guy more power than he deserves, IMO. We are all engines of karma
  6. I don't listen to talk radio, so I can't comment on Limbaugh's ideas. But, you and Quade are saying he's the reason no one wants to join a union? We are all engines of karma
  7. The above is an earlier quote from you. You're now showing that's not the case. We've both learned something today. I think it's a good day whenever I learn something. Thank you. Try as I may, I can't find this breakdown in your article. Where are you getting it from? Another question... Are you expecting all of the top 1% to die this year? What happens next year? We are all engines of karma
  8. I still have hope... We are all engines of karma
  9. How much revenue did it bring in? We are all engines of karma
  10. If unions are so great, I'd expect people lining up to join them. Why isn't that the case? What's wrong with someone coming in at a better price? Capitalism at it's best, especially if the quality is there. We are all engines of karma
  11. You shouldn't have to "say". Show us the math. We are all engines of karma
  12. And there are times when you make absolutely no sense... We are all engines of karma
  13. After read "The Monster", I'm absolutely shocked that subprime mtg brokers weren't getting shot. Seriously. Every time I read that book, I ended up in a seething rage. We are all engines of karma
  14. I'm still waiting for Bernanke's helicopter to fly over my house and drop some printed money. Hope I'm not at work that day. We are all engines of karma
  15. I'm not ignoring it at all. I'm waiting for you to propose what you think that tax rate should be. We are all engines of karma
  16. Absolutely. Not only will his family continue to live off the British tax payer, they'll get a nice payment to jack up their quality of life. We are all engines of karma
  17. Shoot first in that encounter with him? I'm guessing he was doing shootings long before the police got involved, especially in Britain. Either way, sometimes the cops are supposed to shoot first. We are all engines of karma
  18. Hey, leave Amazon alone. She's on vacation. If we don't bother her while she's on vacation, maybe she'll explain socialism to us when she get's back. That way, we'll know when to agree with her. I'm looking forward to it!
  19. You should check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Predatory-Lenders-Bankers-America--/dp/0805090460/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1312823714&sr=8-2 It's enough to make you want to track down Roland Arnall's grave and take a dump on it. We are all engines of karma
  20. In the interest of full disclosure here, I'm neither Republican nor Democrat, and I've been that way for 20+ years. I agree with your statement. I expect SCOTUS to gut Obamacare, unless one of the conservative judges dies shortly and Obama gets to put another liberal on board. That's one way to "fix" it... I truly hope it doesn't get there, but I see it as a distinct possibility. We are all engines of karma
  21. I don't think it's fair to label all conservatives as such. We are all engines of karma
  22. Again, you're advocating raising taxes. We've already demonstrated that you'd have to take all corporate profits and all taxable revenue from millionaires and billionaires just to cover this years version of Obama's vision. Finished reading this article. Again, good stuff. This article demonstrates that generating wealth typically takes generations. Families need to have their act together, and keep it together. The vast majority of American wealth is tied up in the family's home. You're advocating confiscating that wealth when someone dies? You haven't suggested a figure, yet, that you think would be sufficient to fund Obamanian visions. I'm looking forward to hearing it. We are all engines of karma
