  1. That's equal to the total corporate profit in America. With the corporate tax rate at 39% (a combination of state average and federal rates), our government needs to realize it has a massive spending problem. We are all engines of karma
  2. Good site, thanks for sharing it. We are all engines of karma

  5. I'm saying our Federal Govt has a massive spending problem. It's ridiculous to compare Bush's spending with Obama's spending. Annual deficits under Bush were around $100B. That's the monthly deficit under Obama. There's not enough taxes to fund that level of spending. We are all engines of karma
  6. I've never said I favor no taxes. But taking 50% of income (e.g. all bonuses on Wall Street are taxed at the level, independent of the person's other income) is confiscatory. We are all engines of karma
  7. That was a HUGE mistake. I know the banks were saying they couldn't compete with the Europeans because of Glass Steagall, but that framework worked really well for 50+ years. There was no reason to repeal it. We are all engines of karma
  8. I'm taking liberties here in truncating your statement, but it's one that's true none the less. Society needs to take care of their own needs. Get a job, pay your bills, live within your means. Our government must expect personal responsibility, and responsibility to one's family. They don't. Instead, they foster dependence. It's a cycle that will only end in tears for everyone. I'm not sure where the correct balance is, but the pendulum needs to swing the other way right now, and by alot. We are all engines of karma

  13. Thought the same thing. But, NASA data is NASA data. We are all engines of karma
  14. I trust that NASA data is as unbiased as you'll get, until proven otherwise. Having worked for Exxon Research for 6 years, I can say with certainty the company is incredibly responsible and full of extremely smart people. Every single project I was involved with, or heard about, emphasized safety, environment, and ROI, in that order. We are all engines of karma
  15. Thanks for the link. You're right, it's slow. Been waiting 5 minutes now... We are all engines of karma

  17. An article in Forbes: http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-data-blow-gaping-hold-global-warming-alarmism-192334971.html Let's hope EPA sees this... I have a friend who's in the oil industry, currently managing projects in the Gulf. The Obama administration has not approved a single permit, at least for their company. Revenue from leases, royalties and taxes from oil drilling used to be the 2nd largest revenue stream, after personal taxes. No longer... We are all engines of karma

  22. That's a valid point. In the case of Islam, as discussed in this article, those folks either left or had their head cut off by a sword swinging Sunni. We are all engines of karma
  23. I do see his point. How did this situation come about? Because of the long term attitude towards science in that culture. And that attitude continues today. We are all engines of karma
