A hate-filled letter received by a family in Canada telling them to move out of the neighborhood or euthanize their autistic son has gone viral, prompting a flood of support for the family. The letter began to receive attention after being posted on the Twitter account of Brad and MaryLynne Stella, the married couple that comprise the country duo The Stellas. Their daughters, Lennon, 14, and Maisy Stella, 9, who star as Maddie and Daphne Conrad on the hit TV show “Nashville,” also posted the photo to their joint Twitter account. The tweet from @TheStellas read: “This letter was anonymously slipped to our good friend regarding her autistic boy Max. This is appalling.” The tweet from @LennonandMaisy read: “A close family friend has an autistic boy and this was an anonymous letter slipped under her door. This is real.” Both tweets included links to photos of the letter. The Stellas are family friends of Karla Begley, whose autistic son Max is the target of the letter. They initially became aware of the letter after seeing posts about it on Karla’s Facebook page. “Karla was talking about it on Facebook, so we just obviously were upset by it and knew that it needed to be shared,” MaryLynne, 39, Stella told FoxNews.com. “And awareness is key to change, and so we thought it would be a good thing to put it up and have people see how disturbing it was.” The letter demands that Begley take action over her "retarded" son Max. The Ontario mother said she had no idea who would send such a hateful letter, which left her family shocked and devastated. She tearfully told City News: "Who would do this to a child?" The letter goes on to criticize Begley for allowing Max to play outside and says: "That noise he makes when he is outside is DREADFUL!!!!!!!!!! It scares the hell out of my normal children!!!!!!!" The letter also tells Karla that she has a "retarded kid" and "should deal with it properly". "What right do you have to do this to hard working people!!!!!!!! I HATE people like you who believe, just because you have a special needs kid, you are entitled to special treatment!!! GOD!!!!!!" The writer finishes by demanding the family "go live in a trailer in the woods or something with your wild animal kid!!!" and asks the family to do the right thing and move or "euthanize him. Either way, we are ALL better off!!!" Though MaryLynne said she hasn’t seen Max in a while, she spoke highly of Max, Karla, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, and the entire Begley family. “(Max) is just a sweetheart. He loves life, and he’s a happy boy. Honestly, it’s the whole family; they’re so incredible,” MaryLynne said. “I hope something awesome comes to them through this. They deserve it so much. They’ve had a really rough go.” Max does not know the contents of the letter drawing so much attention to him and his family, according to MaryLynne. “He doesn’t know what it’s from, he’s just hamming it up for the cameras and loving the attention,” MaryLynne said. The police are now involved in the situation and are taking steps to determine who sent the anonymous letter. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2013/08/20/woman-receives-hate-filled-letter-asking-her-to-move-or-euthanize-autistic-son/

Interesting how a 19 year old with a gun in a school with obviously no firearms training since he sprayed bullets and didn't hit anyone...and how that's front page center on cnn. But some black teens shoot an unarmed white kid from australia and [cause dey be bored...and ready to kill somebody] and yet somehow that's not newsworthy enough for as much media generation as this incident.

Justice for trayvon! No need to waste taxpayers money on scum like this. Let them walk free with the knowledge that sometime in their near future someone will come up behind them, shoot them in the back of the head and then subseqently run away like these little bitches did.

And yet we have data that proves you wrong.... Yet you just ignore it, along with the Constitution. Your dream requires that criminals actually follow the law. I am pretty sure there is no data that shows murder statistics in the USA with 280 million fewer guns. Pretty sure. But if there are, please link me. If in fact I was asleep at some point and we had some several years with no guns in the USA, and people were getting stabbed to fuck with pointy sticks, at homicide rates on par with Yemen and other shit holes, I will apologize publicly for my ignorance. Aint nobody got time for that!

NAACP wants DOJ and Secret service to investigate obama rodeo clown
regulator replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Why not just create ANOTHER NAACP "National Association for the Advancement of Cracah Peoplez" Thoroughly confuse the shit out of some people. -
You're right. They need the practice. Plus they take a bite out of their grocery bill by seizing all those healthy organic veggies. Unfortunately I understand why they are so Dbaggy. If my job involved interacting with people who are more than likely armed I would want to go in hard and fast as well. ------------------------------------------------------------- [sorry I'm laughing hysterically over here. ] Lets face it. When there are nearly as many guns as people in a country, LEO is going to do what they have to in order to make sure they have the upper hand.

NAACP wants DOJ and Secret service to investigate obama rodeo clown
regulator replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
According to breitbart.com on Tuesday, the Missouri State National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a statement asking for federal involvement in the case of a rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask and then asked the crowd if they’d like to see Obama run down by a bull. “The activities at the Missouri State Fair targeting and inciting violence against our President are serious and warrant a full review by both the Secret Service and the Justice Department,” said State President Mary Ratliff. “Incidents involving individuals acting out with extreme violent behavior in movie theaters, schools, churches, political appearances, and outdoor events in general speaks volume to the irresponsible behavior of all the parties involved with the incendiary events at the Missouri State Fair.” Ratliff went on to condemn the state’s funding of the State Fair: “our Legislature has failed to support Medicare Expansion in Missouri, has consistently attempted to dismantle our Human Rights Commission, fail to adequately fund urban schools — (who) are predominately African American — yet they are subsidizing the Missouri State Fair to the tune of $400,000; we are calling for the subsidy to stop…[Governor Nixon's] planned Pancake Breakfast for Thursday should be his ‘Last Supper’ at the Missouri State Fair in response to the racially intolerant attacks on his Commander in Chief.” http://gopthedailydose.com/2013/08/16/naacp-doj-secret-service-should-investigate-rodeo-clown/ Obviously there wasn't enough race baiting in the trayvon martin case so the NAACP wants to turn up the heat on a rodeo clown. In reality their reverse racism is making them look like a bunch of crying bitches. Get over it already. -
Oh, I dunno. I am reminded of being at the range where someone's hot girlfriend was shooting with some kind of K-frame .38. She apparently had some kind of question, so she pivoted - still holding the revolver with her finger on the trigger. When I threw myself backwards on the ground to stay out of the line of fire, she looked down to see what was the fuss, and the barrel followed her line of sight. I was able to roll out of where the hole would have appeared as the barrel came down, and someone was able to get the firearm out of her hands before the damned thing went off. Anyhow, someone more focused on shaking their tits than where the firearm is pointed does not get me hot and bothered. Actually, it bothers me more than a little. I have known some beautiful women who were world-class shots, and they bore no resemblance to the airheads in this video. Jesse Jackson Jr. Sentenced to 30 months in prison
regulator replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Oh the irony! http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/14/former-rep-jesse-jackson-jr-to-be-sentenced/?test=latestnews Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was sentenced to two and a half years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to scheming to spend $750,000 in campaign funds on TV's, restaurant dinners, an expensive watch and other costly personal items. His wife received a sentence of one year. Jackson, the 48-year-old son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, had been a Democratic congressman from Illinois from 1995 until he resigned last November. In an emotional speech to the judge during which he became choked up and used tissues to blow his nose, he apologized and said he wanted to "take responsibility for my actions." "I misled the American people," he said. According to court papers in the case, Jackson used campaign money to buy items including a $43,350 gold-plated men's Rolex watch. Daily politics news delivered to your inbox: sign up for our newsletter U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson said that as a public official Jackson was expected to "live up to a higher standard of ethics and integrity." After prison, he is to spend three years on supervised release and complete 500 hours of community service. Jackson's wife, Sandra Jackson, was sentenced Wednesday to a year in prison for filing joint federal income tax returns that understated the couple's income. She spent $5,150 in campaign funds on fur capes and parkas, court documents show. Jesse Jackson Jr. had pleaded guilty to the criminal charges back in February. He admitted that he and his wife used campaign credit cards to buy 3,100 personal items worth $582,772 from 2005 through April of last year -- including $60,857 for personal expenditures at restaurants, nightclubs and lounges; $16,058 for personal expenditures at sports clubs and lounges; $5,814 for alcohol and $14,513 for dry cleaning. Individual campaign credit card purchases included a $466 dinner for two of "a personal nature" at a restaurant; a washer, dryer, range and refrigerator for the Jacksons' Chicago home; multiple flat-screen televisions, Blu-Ray DVD players and DVDs for their Washington, D.C., home; and a five-day health retreat for one of Mrs. Jackson's relatives. Jackson told another judge when he entered his plea that "for years I lived in my campaign." On Wednesday, Jackson asked that his family, in particular his son and daughter, not suffer because of his actions. He said he hoped his wife would get probation and that if that wasn't available he could serve her sentence for her. "Give me her time," he said. Jackson also asked to serve his time in Alabama, saying, "I wanted to make it a little inconvenient for everybody to get to me." Under federal sentencing guidelines, Jackson faced a potential sentencing range of 46 to 57 months in prison, and the government recommended the lower end of that -- 48 months. Jackson's lawyer, Reid H. Weingarten, wrote that the former congressman's mental health might worsen under the stress of incarceration. Jackson has been treated for depression and bipolar disorder. Prosecutors sought an 18-month prison sentence for Sandra Jackson, who was a Chicago alderman before she resigned this year during the federal investigation. U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen has said the government could have come up with more serious charges against her than filing false joint federal income tax returns, but used discretion because the Jacksons have children -
If right now, at this very moment, I walk out the door, drive to the store... and purchase 2 AR-15's, two parts kits, 20K rounds of 223, and a complete set of full body military body armor... ...how does that effect you? ? ---------------------------------------------------------- I'd want to know where you got a deal on 20k rounds of .223 ammo. Cause I want some too.

Two problems for your argument here. 1- you're citing the Declaration of Independence. Although certainly a key document from the time, it is the Constitution that matters. 2- the right to life includes the right to self defense, which the gun enables. Without it, you're at risk to bigger or more numerous bad guys. 1) I wasn't, DMCO was, that was a quote from a thread he wrote about the philosophy of America. 2) is what the whole discussion is about. RUSHMC posted a link to an article that had a decent quote in it. ""Foreign style gun control is doomed to failure in America. Foreign gun control comes along with searches and seizures, and with many other restrictions on civil liberties too intrusive for America. Foreign gun control...postulates an authoritarian philosophy of government fundamentally at odds with the individualist and egalitarian American ethos."" Fair enough. It probably will never happen in America. America will probably continue to lead 1st world nations in homicides by far. I just don't think its good. I would try experimenting a bit more. --------------------------------------------------- when it happens let me know how fighting off intruders with a my little pony dildo works out for you.

My nephew lives in virginia beach. He's always showing me pictures of him with a deer he killed with a shotgun...yep I hear in ole virginia ye has to shoot a shotgun with a slug cause centerfire rifle rounds travel too far. Is that still going on?

Tell that to the people in Luby's Diner. Or the students at VaTech. Or the folks at Hartford Dostributors in Mass. Or the victims of Fort Hood. Educate yourself. It'll save you embarassment. I think all of those involved several weapons... And yes, you can have several magazines ready and take the time to inflict a lot of wounds... You can also have terrible spray patterns and hit one person in the head and fire the rest of your rounds progressively up to the ceiling - or hit no one at all... There is also theoretically no limit to the number of times you can stab someone (or many people) with a knife... But a high-capacity semi or fully-automatic weapon is still far easier to use if your aim is to cause mass damage. As for "minding my own business"... I'm not telling anyone to do anything. Who the hell would listen anyway??!!! Asking a question is not simply stirring up shit - it's a discussion. Now if someone brings up ridiculous arguments to the table, why shouldn't I point out its irrelevance, if only to keep the discussion on track?? And to all of you who assume (wrongly) to know my position you should refer to what my Sgt used to always say: "assume makes an ass out of u and me"!! I am merely bringing up food for thought. No more, no less. Finally, I don't give a rats ass about semantics. Useless details (unless you're a lawyer, in which case the devil is in the detail...). Function over form, people. Do you understand my point? Good. So stop fussing over whether I should have used the word "federal law" instead of "rule" or "illegal" as opposed to "banned"... Stop nit-picking on the irrelevant boring stuff and get to the core of the matter - it makes for more intelligent discussions (as opposed to wasting 1000 words on explaining grammar... Sheesh... ) The FBI murder statistics do not differentiate between types of rifles. There are about 100 million rifles in the United States. In 2009, the last year in which numbers have been reported, there were 13,636 murders. Guns were used to murder 9,146 people. Hands and feet were used to murder 801 people. Blunt objects were used to murder 611 people. Rifles were used to murder 348 people, and that is all rifles, of which assault rifles are only a small fraction. Assault rifles are used so infrequently in homicides that many police departments almost never see them; in 2009, there were nine states that did not have a single murder committed with any rifle.

You just make that up? You have any ballistics data to back that up? Any statistical analysis of fatalities due to firearm or caliber types? Didn't think so. Oh come on, seriously? Do you think that guy who shot people in a cinema would have hit 71 people and killed 12 had he been armed with a glock instead of an AR-15? Really? Don't think so. ---------------------------------------------------- Kind of ironic that the judge presiding over the case still hasn't revealed what weapons killed what people. Some media has reported the AR was in the trunk of his car. So you were there? How did you not get shot with all your detailed knowledge of the incident?

Ahh yes I remember quite well when I was around 12 my parents went to mexico and it was the day we were going to leave and my parents were loading up on bottles of mexican vanilla and some weird bottle of booze my dad wanted. Me...yeah I had my eyes on this switchblade I passed by before. I had enough money and I went and bought it. I would say within a week of me flipping that cheap blade back and forth it crapped out before I knew it. It found its way into the trashcan.

What if SLIDERS was real, and there were no guns in this version?
regulator replied to Bignugget's topic in Speakers Corner
So would this be before the American Revolution? You know the part where...and I quote from wikipedia... 'The American Revolution was a political upheaval during the last half of the 18th century in which thirteen colonies in North America joined together to break from the British Empire, combining to become the United States of America. They first rejected the authority of the Parliament of Great Britain to govern them from overseas without representation, and then expelled all royal officials. By 1775 each colony had established a Provincial Congress or an equivalent governmental institution to govern itself, but still recognized the British Crown and their inclusion in the empire. The British responded by sending combat troops to re-establish royalist control. Through the Second Continental Congress, the Americans then managed the armed conflict in response to the British known as the American Revolutionary War (also: American War of Independence, 1775–83). This country was founded by men and women who STOOD UP FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. You should become familiar with a few history books because it appears you were sleeping in those classes. Also you should know history has a the ability to repeat itself. but you go out on the battlefield with cheetos and joints and when the enemy splits your face in two with a well placed .50 round Ill go to your dead body and grab all your joints and add them to my own stash and then fire back at the enemy. When the day is over and we bury you I'll smoke some of my weed...well cause...its probably vastly better. And I'll say a prayer for you. -
If the fucking IRS gets to use AR-15's then I shouldn't be questioned why I need to use one. http://benswann.com/irs-needs-ar-15s-for-standoff-capabilities/

I know you guys might not realize this, so Ill point it out directly. Shooting bambi in the face, generally ends bambis life. guns have no purpose EXCEPT to end life. Thats why the Secret Service choose GUNS as their weapon of choice against a would be assassin of your beloved Obama. They are most effective at ending the life of someone/thing. Guns weren't designed to "shoot targets at the olympics" the olympic sport was developed to SHOWCASE how well people are at shooting a tiny target (you know, like the heart of an animal or person) Yep...same with javelin. The javelin wasn't developed so that people could practice throwing shit a long way. The spear was developed to kill things, and then they developed CONTESTS to compete and further the skill set of throwing a spear to kill things. ---------------------------------------------------- I am not a hunter. While I am able to drive to the store and buy meat for my wife and my family I do not have the need to go out and shoot bambi. I personally love animals. However if it came down to it, and I had to kill bambi to put meat on the table I would do it in a heartbeat. Until that time comes I'll be eating steaks from the Kroger Meat Dept. and eating venison my hunter friends bring me.

Also if you ever watched the show 'Yukon men' [of course it isn't MTV with action packed stars like the folks from jersey shore and tila tequila] but if you ever watched Yukon Men you would see one of the gentlemen hunting with an AR. He even uses iron sights.
-
Emergency preparedness (Prepare to kill people or animals) Commerce and employment (Yep, sold as a means to kill things) Historical preservation and study (I guess?, not really what they were intended for I don't think.) Obtaining food by hunting (Yep, by killing bambi) Collecting (sorta falls under preservation and study) (All these to make you more proficient at killing something with a gun) Olympic competition Sporting pursuits Target practice Recreational shooting The gun is designed to kill shit, thats its purpose. The joint is designed to relax you and make you eat Cheetos. When I am world dictator general, first order of business is collecting 280 million guns, and distributing 280 million joints (and buy the cheeto factory). --------------------------------------------------- You wouldn't last ten seconds in the alaskan outback. You see people there have to use their firearms to kill animals to eat for the winter. You would be the first person to starve.

These are not civilians, though... The point being that these "toys" can do some serious damage... More than your average handgun. We give up A LOT of personal freedoms in the name of safety... A simple every-day example: you can't drive a car at whatever speed you like... As a society, we have decided that beyond a certain speed is just too dangerous. Even though most of the time nothing at all happens, it is just not worth the risk. In a similar way, some people would ban semi or fully automatic riffles for civilians - because the potential harm that can be done is too big. Do people who drive still speed despite it being illegal? Yes. Do people still own/use illegal weapons? Yes. Most people would agree that speed limits, annoying as they are, *do* increase safety. Why are gun lovers so reluctant to admit that some limits in gun ownership would do the same? Now if the law is not enforced and the crime is too rampant, they may be right... But at what point is personal freedom (to own a gun for "fun") overridden by safety (because too many people who SHOULDN'T own one CAN get one - totally legally)? I would counter your point about cars with a point. Do we ban the ownership of fast or sport autos? Nope. And police buy these weapons as civilians. They buy those weapons using civilian funds(personal) for a variety of reasons. My father is a 1st lieutenant deputy sheriff and he trains the deputies in several different firearms functionality and I inherited an old police M1 carbine after they all upgraded to the AR platform. The reserve deputies had to purchase their firearm with their own funds. My father has over 20 different variation of the AR platform and I am extremely proficient with each variation.

Like what? Hahaha. Touche' Nunchucks. And to answer other questions: - I didn't pick th AR-15, Piers Morgan did. Please actually read my post before making silly comments on it. As to why Piers Morgan picked that particular weapon, well, something to do with its use in a number of recent mass murders. - Why are people explaining guns and "semi-automatic" and what is and isn't a "scary" weapon to me?? Stop making dumb assumptions - I don't need these thing explained, thank you very much. - As for the argument that "needs" have nothing to do with it... I must disagree... Some things are NECESSARY evils. You can't take them away because people NEED them. The bottom line here is not whether or not they are necessary, but "please come up with a good argument against banning/restricting these types of weapons." (Given they are not at all necessary for civilians.) - Also, all your examples of things that could hurt 1 or 2 people (and usually just the person directly involved - like skydiving) are BAD examples. They do not have the potential to seriously and easily maim/kill a lot of people at once. - Finally: rights... These are not rights. They are laws/privileges. And they can be taken away. Nobody can take away a right. Please don't bring up semantics... The fact is that your laws currently prohibit things that used to be rights - like owning a slave... And thank goodness this is no longer the case. Your "right" to bare arms can also be taken away if too many people abuse it. Whoever came up with the statistic of 20-ish ppl killed per year by assault riffles... Somehow that doesn't sound right... Please post where you found this statistic. ---------------------------------------------------------- MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Since the massacre at a Newtown elementary school, much of the discussion on gun violence has been around a proposal to reinstate the assault weapons ban. During his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama discussed it, saying “Police chiefs are asking our help to get weapons of war and massive ammunition magazines off our streets, because they are tired of being outgunned.” But how many people are killed by assault weapons in the U.S. as compared to other weapons? According to the Minnesota report to the FBI in 2011, the last year there is Uniform Crime Report Data, three people were murdered with a rifle of any type. The report does not break rifle murders into “assault” rifles. Four died in fist fights, 12 by knife and 51 by handguns in Minnesota in 2011. Monday night’s shooting in Oakdale, Minn., which killed a 9-year-old boy, was committed using a semi-automatic handgun, according to police. The Accent Signage shooter killed five and then himself with a 9 mm Glock handgun. The same story plays out across the nation. Of the 12,664 murders in 2011 reported to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report, 6,220 were committed with handguns — about 49 percent of the total report. By comparison, killers used a rifle on 323 people, 2.5 percent of all murders. Assault rifle murders aren’t split out, but it’s safe to assume it’s less than the 323. Most put the number of assault weapon murders as between 1 and 2 percent of all murders. In 2011, knives were used in 1,694 murders. Fists and feet were used in 728 murders, and blunt objects –like clubs, bats and hammers – were used in 496 murders. Of course lets use the lame 'for the children' ploy over and over again. I served this country in the military and you don't get to decide what tool I use to defend my family. that number would be 323 for ALL rifle murders and they arent broken down by type of rifle used...so thats less than 2% But because some liberal passes some lame ass feel good law thats going to prevent criminals from using their weapons against us. Brilliant. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/02/12/good-question-how-many-people-are-killed-by-assault-rifles/
