If you got the flu this summer, it was probably H1N1
Misternatural replied to SpeedRacer's topic in The Bonfire
In a related story "swine flue cuts the kiss in Europe"......those are my people but I never understood why they gotta touch cheeks onto every man, woman, and child everywhere they go.. didn't they learn anything from the black plague? -
>A fight has two or more willing participant in the physical altercation. Assault doesn't ahhh, that makes sense..... how do the police deal with a fight in your state?- does everyone involved get arrested? does it matter who started it? do you require witnesses?...... information not for my own uses... but just curious. >Swishing water around in a glass.... hence why I have a cabinet full of backup mason jars......someday they will be hippest glass wear to use- a case of 12- $10.99, what's not to like. >When we talk....Listening does *not* require you to stare at our breasts. Ahh, excellent point But most men are self trained to quickly glance at breasts, it's like looking at the sun....you get a sense of them, then quickly look away to avoid retinal burns....or a reverse turning kick to the ear. also we remind ourselves that- "The eyes are the nipples of the face" now if that's not romantic I don't know what is. Who was the idiot that creamed into six spectators in UTAH?
Misternatural replied to warpedskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Yep- never underestimate the sheer idiocy of grown men....... "candy drops" are a common event at fly in's and such, there is also the "accuracy bean bag drop" and the "air parade" where a collection of nubile pilots do repeated fly by's around and around the pattern....that amateur fuckery seems like a fun idea around crowds until someone hay bales it and looses an eye. One time for kicks we actually practiced shooting a paint ball gun at standup ground targets- from a two place powered parachute when the air field was empty.......the pilot got distracted by the target shooting and nearly left wheel marks on our club trailer.... we promptly parked it and that's the LAST time we tried that foolishness. The funny part was when the club VP discovered all the broken and paint ball stained targets.....he was like "WTF happened here!!????" Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. Popcorn is not a side dish at dinner. Plants;.....water them, the brown ones are dead, and mold does not count as a houseplant. Interior house paint; white is not a color. Mason Jars are not a reasonable alternative to filthy glass wear. A Pizza box does not a coaster make. any others?.........we need all the help we can get Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415 -
sorry for the delay- you know more about the law than I do and I would appreciate an educated explanation as to why the police did not have to intervene, but from what I see- acts of contact aggression off of a refereed sports playing field, rink, track, or ring are called assault, say for example a Raiders fan tackles a Broncos fan against a car in the stadium parking lot. I just don't think this young players life has to be vilified and ruined because he threw a punch at the end of a game....how many bench clearing fights at sporting events have we watched over the years with no charges, no sanctions, and nothing but screaming fans spilling cups of flat $8 beer on each others grandmother. Is this because he's a college student? is the honor of the college somehow at stake and if he is not hung to dry society will devolve into complete anarchy? someone please explain. The only sporting event I have yet to see a punch thrown is Golf Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415

>Expulsion is a little over the top. I have to agree, a suspension from a few games would be more appropriate in my opinion. Really people,a little perspective- it's football- controlled aggression as I said.....On the field during a play a full speed rib crushing hit to a receiver during a mid air catch resulting in a gurney trip to the hospital is perfectly OK because the rules are being followed.......this is Irony at its best. Technically this incident could be ruled simply as unsportsman like conduct because they were still on the playing field, as such it was equally unsportsman like to taunt an opposing player while still on the field. -off the field incidents like this are a clearly a civil matter and a legal offense. However I realize this isn't the NFL but football players are not usually expelled from the team for aggressive behavior on the field, because as I said....isn't that the point? Maybe I am jaded but ......I bet that some promoter will try to contact both players to get them into the ring, so lets drop this bullshit false sense of honor because at the end of the day....let's face it- that's what most sports fans, (who we know are all perfect angels in THEIR every day life) really pay to see- violence and drama. I think If I said medically it was a knockout people would have been less likely to think I was scoring a fight- which I was not. Sports can be a strange brew sometimes, players are supposed to perform in a box of carefully controlled violence and aggression, especially in football...I honestly don't know how people do it. It is kind of like telling someone to drink as much as they want- just don't get drunk. I don't think people as animals are psychologically designed to perform that way, it is really a contradiction- violent reactions are a natural and necessary animal instinct used for survival. and in today's civilization every player must perform to this unrealistic high standard of conduct with cameras and trash talk and pressure all the time...I know I could never be a pro athlete under those circumstances. I know that to follow the rules and play fair is called good sportsmanship but I look around and I see a pretty dirty world in general. But I am expected to always follow the rules and keep my cool? Fuck that. The sports arena is an overly idealized artificially controlled environment with extremely high professional expectations- The sports fan gets to act like a complete asshole most of the time every day in their life but the player has to be perfect all the time??...I am amazed more fights don't break out on the playing field. You seem like a person that strives for excellence in your conduct in both word and deed and you have a lot of respect and admiration as a result-Kudos!

it is interesting that the police take the venue into account- I have noticed that police can use a lot of their own discretion when enforcing the law. Technically it was a knockout, but I think some here think I was trying to quantify the event as though it was a real fight...... not the case.
