  1. Oh man I would really be in trouble because I just bought a new container a couple of months ago.....and it's a RACER Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  2. Thanks everyone. I am actually jumping tomorrow instead of during the week. I got to CA LATE Thursday and have been exhausted all day today. Boy this was a tough choice, but if most of the fun jumpers are in Byron, that makes it a whole lot easier. I just have to find out what the winds are doing. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys tomorrow then.
  3. Thanks. I like your comment about the "correct coast". I live in Texas, and swimming in the beaches here is like swimming in a giant toilet bowl compared to out there. Thanks for all the advice. It's going to be great!! Even better is that I get to hit Elsinore in Oct. for Chicks Rock!! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  4. I LOVE Byron. My avatar is actually a picture of me right after I jumped there last June. The background is just breathtaking, but it's really too small to see on here. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  5. I'm staying with my sis and brother-in-law. They live in Fremont. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  6. Okay, I know this is a boring thread but please bear with me. I'm traveling to CA today and will be making a jump or two on Sat. I've jumped at Byron once and loved it. Should I jump there again or go to Monterey? I don't know anything about Monterey. Is it a good dz? Please help me out
  7. You are a TWIRP Gonzo...get a life! (Mods, just kidding, please don't ban me.
  8. That wasn't what they really paid though...that money was riding to fund something else. What, I have no idea. It was for ROZWELL of course. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  9. ***You can't choose not to be sick. __________________________________________________ That's true, but you can chose to take care of yourself in such a way that sickness will be unlikely. I have made a choice that I do not believe "socialized medicine" will support. My choice is natural medicine. I do have a natural healthcare professional who is awesome, but he does not take insurance. That's okay with me, because I feel my money is much better spent visiting him. My uncle saw a homeopathic doc a few times and his cancer (which was supposed to be terminal) is GONE. He paid all of it out of his own pocket, but he still paid a lot less than his part of the cost of chemo (which didn't do the job). Requiring me to have medical insurance would be a waste. If there was a MAJOR MEDICAL plan or CATASTROPIC PLAN.....then I would surely take advantage of that. My family of four is covered through my husband's employer with decent health insurance, and it's nice to know that I have that "safety net" in case of an emergency. But my first choice will always be the natural way. Somehow I don't think the govt. will support that. Thoughts anyone? (Holy CRAP did I just post in SPEAKER'S CORNER!!......is there a prescription drug for shock?!) Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

  12. Yes I am a woman, but I will not flame you. I'm married with two children and I skydive two days a month. I ABSOLUTELY understand the desire to break away and go play in the sky. But it would be very unreasonable for me to tell my husband (and kids) that I'm gonna skydive whenver I want to. You are either married or single, you can't be both. And being the "man of the house" isn't about getting to do whatever you want, whenever you want to. A real "man of the house" possesses self-discipline and a sense of responsiblity for the decisions and committment he made. Being a mother and a wife entails the same things. Yes, sometimes it can be a pain in the butt, but it is the life we've chosen. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  13. Oh CRAP.....What happened? Were you at least to the altitude you INTENDED to jump from? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  14. Geez Wendy....there is no WAY you have a 24 year-old son. Did you adopt? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  15. Getting pied for your 100th is like wearing a cap and gown for graduating Kindergarten. Cupcake it up if you must. But pies are for having 3 or more zeros, not 2. Would you please tell that to the people at my dz? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  16. I guess it's different for me because I am at home most of the time, and can make an excellent case for needing to do my own thing two days out of the month. My husband works 5 days a week, so he kinda likes hanging around the house occasionally, and welcomes the alone father/son time. I think it would be quite different if I worked full time and didn't see my kids that much. I hope you can find a solution that is okay with both of you. Good luck. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  17. I guess I like to leave the plane when I'm ready. The thought of falling out accidentally absolutely terrifies me! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  18. Maybe I'll just have a fake pieing and create some pics to go with it. Oops, did I just post that? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  19. Before you got pied for your 100th? I know there is no statute of limitations on being pied, but I would have thought it would have happened by now. Did anyone else have to wait too terribly long to get pied? I did my 100th last December, and hit 151 last Saturday. What's up? I guess I'm just looking to get it over with, and I hope Lindercles does not see this. Seriously, how long did you have to wait? 20. Hi, I am a stay-at-home mother of two and I homeschool both of them. I didn't start skydiving until I had been married about 10 years, so going to the dz every weekend and banging out a ton of jumps has never been an option for me, but I'm actually kinda glad, because it keeps things in perspective. I only go jumping about two days out of the month, and do 4 jumps (at the most) each time. Since I spend every day during the week teaching my kids and taking care of the home, it is quite easy for my husband to understand and be okay with giving me a couple of days out of the month. Plus he enjoys having some son/daddy time. As most have said, it IS all about balance. I do not get upset because I can't go jumping every weekend because I'm just so thrilled I get to skydive at all. I'm glad I found it. Do you think your wife would feel better if there was some way she could get away and get a release? I only ask that because I don't know your whole situation. Good luck and take care. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  21. I haven't read it either, but it's not because I'm a rule follower. I homeschool my two boys. I'm teaching my youngest to read, and listening to my 4th grader read. So when someone tells me not to read something, I'll happily oblidge. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  22. I prefer stick shifts to automatics. Except during the hurricane Rita evacuation. 12 hour stop and go trips aren't at all compatible with clutches Anyway, it seems stick shifts don't have as many transmission problems as automatics. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  23. That is funny. I'm now getting flashbacks of when I fell out of the car at five years old. Mom was turning onto a street and I just tumbled out. Maybe that explains the horrible "door fear" I used to have in the plane. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
