  1. I believe in this case, the lady had a hard opening and they speculate that the weak connecting tissue may have cause the aorta to seperate form the heart.
  2. I seem to remember an incident during the Jump for the Cause Women's world record jumps. In the end, there was a report which stated that double jointedness could have contributed to the fatal incident. Apparently, IIRC the condition that allows double jointed joints, can also cause weak connecting tissue between arteries and organs.
  3. Buty I am not even a: nam yratilim
  4. Come on buddy, give your head a shake. There are not many companies out there were in 6 divisions 94% of the employees had pay problems. It is not sensationolism. You are asking people to posibly make the ultimate sacrificy for their country, but you can't pay them on time or for the right amount? That is news, because with those error levels it is not obviously not a minor administrative problem.

  6. Sorry to hear about that chris, but like others have stated, I think in the end you will look back and find it to be the best thing that could have happened

You are right some are whackos. Thankfully the commander in chief of the invading force is not a whacko. I mean it is not as if he partly decided to invade a country because the voice in his head, which he attributed to God, said he should do it.

I don't know, depends on what else he would have done. I thought he acted well and quickly after 9/11. personally I thought he handled the situation well. Unfortunately he has started using 9/11 to persue a different agenda.

I get it, Bush lies and it is Clinton's fault... Isn't it also equally possible that Bush and or his administration actively tried to spin intelligence reports to support their desire to go to war? That statement is just laughable.

well, I am utterly confused. Could you please tell me what the war is for?
  11. I am not a big fan of Affirmative Action either. I think the best person should be given a job, regardless of sex race etc. I find it is the same as giving those starving a fish, I think it is better to teach them how to fish. Those types of programs can easily be run targeted at certain groups. However, you need the race data to be able to to that.
  12. In the purest sense of the word, poverty knows no religion, you are absolutely right. It is also an over simplified statement, one I thought you were too smart to make. People of all races live below the poverty line, there is no doubt about it. However (and I am not using actual numbers, but ficticious numbers to make a point) if you find that of the total population living below the poverty line 85% is Chinese, yet only 5% of the total population is Chinese, you can draw some conculsions from that. It has nothing to do with judging people on race, hence I am not really sure where that argument came from. What you could conclude is that if you can (with the limited means generally available to fight poverty and like issues) reduce the amount of Chinese living below the poverty line, you can make a grand reduction in the total population. Further, you can conclude that Chinese have a higher likelihood of living below the poverty line and one can do some research into finding answers relating to why that is so. I really do not see what the issue is with that. Many of it goes back to such simplistic thoughts as biggest bang for your buck. Logical thought processes I use in the business world on a daily basis. making a over simplified statement of poverty knows no race is a simple cop out, nothing more and nothing less. I would have thought you had a more evolved thought process than that. Right, simple questions with simple answers from a random smapling of the US population. Like thousands of polls are done, most with fairly accurate results since the goal was to poll the whole population, not a specific sub-group. In comparing the two, I would still hold that more valid (even if it could be flawed) than a letter from an unidentified source.
  13. Right, cause when it is reported on Fox it has to be true.......
  14. Sorry, I guess I had you pegged for someone who would think more and not make such simple statements. Well, then it must be true. Once again, no source identified in eitehr piece, yet you believe it. Yet, the scientific poll is not given any weight whatsoever. Makes no sense to me. Sounds to me like you beleive what you want to believe.
  15. But you blow a stack over a letter with no identified source reported on Fox News? I would think you have to look at percentages, since that would allow you to compares apples to apples since the different groups are different sizes. Or is this once again going to be an issue were people decide to look at either total numbers or percentages based on what fits their agenda? Similar to the defence spending and aid spending issues?
  16. In the purest sense of the word you are right. However, that is a little too easy to say don't you think. when you look at the numbers, it is quite easy to see that minorities are in far greater numbers under the poverty line. Hence, what is wrong with helping them? Plus, you easily discard the research poll done with regards to Fox News and misconceptions, but you blow a lid over a story about a letter, with no identified source. Doesn't make much sense to me.
  17. I agree, though one could make a pretty successful argument that the US unilaterally broke the bond with the international body empowered to deal with the situation.
  18. You mean to tell me there are no WMDs in Iraq? But, but, but Bush said he knew for sure they had them. Remember he told us how the UN wasn't finding them fast enough and how it was a direct threat to every one and how he had to go in and save the world? And then Fox News said that they had found them. It said it right there on the screen!!!!! On top of that, God told Bush he had to go and do something. We all know we can't argue with the voice of God speaking to us in our heads. You mean Bush might have actually lied to the US population? Thank God he didn't get a blow job though, now that would have been a real problem
  19. Yes, it is still working, there is actually a new version out as well. Phree, using kazaa is not illegal. Downloading music is not illegal. It all depends on what you are downloading...
  20. Then how do you explain this: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hus/tables/2002/02hus002.pdf
  21. I am not defending anybody, just thought you would like to get your terminology straight. Brown shirts have traditionally been associated with fascists not nazis.
  22. This is a full blown heavy weight bout : In one corner we have Bill von, in the opposite corner we have Professor kallend. Who can deliver the knock out punch?? Stay tuned for further action........
  23. I personally really like the Yves line of veggie dogs and veggie meat. Not sure if it is available in the us though.
  24. And what if it looked real, but the news reported was obviously a joke?
