  1. Yeah exactly, nothing like claiming to be moral and treating women like second class citizens all at the same time...........
  2. That one is getting a little old.....like some one else already said, I didn't say anything about the US on this thread. Could it be that you are slightly over sensitive? I am sorry, is there a point to that sentence? Wasn't a back peddle, sorry if you didn't understand it the first time around. I never claimed to have known more about the awarding of contracts in the US than Vinnie. I claim it isn't relevent to the issue at hand. Really, where did I lie? Was it a lie, like the one where you claimed to make your last post to a thread? Wasn't a diversion, it was an indication that I am well versed with high level negotiations of contracts and the process of influence behind it. I do that all day for a living, sorry no acronyms for that.
  3. Joey the Rat, not a bad name for a pope
  4. okay for both of you, I'll try and say it a bit simpler if I can. The issue isn't just the awarding of goverment contracts in the US. The issue is human interaction and psyche behind it. Blindly saying that it is impossible for the VP to influence the process because he has nothing to do with the awarding of contracts is just too simple. Reading comprehension mixed with sarcasm Ron. The fortunate part could relate back to two items. I know what Vinnie does, so it was an easy opportunity to make a jokingly sarcastic comment. You forgot to finish the sentence Ron. I said no idea of the big picture, the who is pulling the strings part. Sorry for the delay in responding, I had to go have lunch with the Mayor of Toronto.
  5. See, up here if a citizen (or securrity officer) wants to keep some one, they have to arrest the person. They cannot detain on suspicion of, or detain for any reason. Detaining can only happen after arrest.
  6. Nope, didn't do that either. Back to the reading comprehension thing.
  7. Nope, I am wondering why people think it is not an issue. Being Canadian, it is a very relevant questioin in light of the gomery inquiry. Which is looking into high level government interference in awarding of contracts. All the way up to the Prime Minister's Office. Now, in Canada the PM does not award contracts, nor does the finance minister, or the minister of public works, but boy does it ever look like they had a say into who would be considered. Which goes back to my comment about the acronyms. If you get some one saying, hey if you don't know the acronyms, you obviously don't know about the process. The process isn't the issue, the bigger picture, the "who-is-pulling-the-strings" question is what is the issue. Lastly, the thought process of some one that high in government does not get involved with awarding contracts is exactly what led to the sytematic awarding of fraudulent million dollar payments in Canada. If you or anybody else want to continue thinking that cannot happen in the US, fine, but it is somewhat the definition of naieve.
  8. I was wondering the same, but it is funny when that is his only come back.
  9. Not slamming the US, just those who blindly follow, in any country. Nope, never said that. Reading comprehension really isn't that difficult. I said that often pressure can be exuded without it being voiced. Sometimes that even happens without the person realizing it. Hence rules get put into place when people are too closely related. When you get high enough it gets to be a bigger problem. Once again, I mention the Gomery inquiry if you are are naieve enough to think it doesn't happen. I'll refer back to reading comprehension.
  10. you are right he never complied. But they accomplished their goal, which was the destruction of his wmd, or at least ensure he is unable to use them if he even has them. Looks like they accomplished their goal. To me a better result than killing thousands under false pretenses.
  11. Like you said we all know he HAD WMD. 12 years later they are gone, looks like they did accomplish something.
  12. hi hi hi, you guys crack me up. Those blinders must get pretty uncomfortable after time. Even on horses they take them off after a little while. By the way, for those somewhat illiterate I said that the VP, or any senior officer be it in government or corporate life often does make recommendation. Those recommendation tend to carry a lot of weight. With the seniority of a VP, those recommendations can even be in place without being voiced. For those that think that senior members of government do not get involved with awarding of contracts, directly or indirectly, just take a look at the Gomery Inquiry currently ongoing in Canada. The naivete of some of you is very funny though. I usually find that the guys that know all the little acronyms have no idea what the big picture looks like. Those are the guys that just see the signatures on paper, but have no idea who is pulling the strings.
  13. I had the same questions, but my aunt, who happens to be an active dutch police officers maintains that they are trained to shoot to injure. btw, you keep talking about detaining in this scenario. In Canada it is illegal for a citizen to detain without arrest, is that not the same in the US?
  14. just like when you don't want to torture a guy, just ship him to a country where they do torture them and ask for the info after.
  15. Just like the Senior Vice President of operations in a large corporation has nothing to do with hiring employees. Yet a favourable word carries a lot of weight. Thinking otherwise is pretty naieve. Second, there was quite a bit going on before he became VP.
  16. so, it is correct to say you see absolutely nothing wrong with this Cheney - Haliburton association?
  17. It is fortunate that you don't think badly of your Vice President?
  18. They were making sure they had no WMD....and guess what...no WMD found. Treating your people bad is not something western cultures really concern themselves with, or there would be many more wars with US and EU involvement.
  19. actually the UN was handling it, You just wanted to invade......
  20. but it was a well thought out ramble as opposed to JK finger pointing yelling: you you you you you you
  21. I was thinking the same thing, though you do see the guy grabbing his gun prior to being shot 2 more times. Guess the question would be why he didn't remove himself from the situation after he hit the guy the first time around.
  22. True, though she would probably be less accepted in otherwise relatively mainstream media.
  23. I understand that, though there was a specific act towards that person. If a group passes to close to you, making you fearful, yet no member of the group ever intended to make you feel fearful, never gave any thought to you, just absentmindedly passes close to you, maybe even surrounding you for a second, yet never touching you....could that ever result in an assault conviction.
  24. Didn't mean to label vinnie at all. I never made the comparison to Hitler or anybody else, so not quite sure what shocked you so much. What shocks me is the intense divisiveness in the US. The incredible strong feelings, even hatred, based on nothing but mainstream political affiliation and thought and the number of people who see nothing wrong with it. Don't like and find it sad that people can make money off hatred. Hatred is a pretty strong feeling.
