  1. See Washington Sate has it right, ban gay marriage and force all marriages to result in reproduction....it is cheaper in the end
  2. See, this is where I don't agree with you. The previous speaker was given acces to USAF supplied non-stop travel to his riding. The new speaker should be given the same, USAF supplied non-stop travel to her riding. If they can do it in the same plane: great, if they have to go to a bigger plane, well that is just a function of the size of the country. All in all a pretty silly story though. (now I am not sure of this, but I would think that flying non-stop in a bigger plane could be more fuel efficient that having to land, refuel and take off, in which case concerned tax payers like DaVinci would be even betetr off.)
  3. Actually I do, but that is a different story. Will your taxes in any way shape or form change for the better or worse based on the decision which plane she flies in? I think in all reality, it affects you and I in exactly the same way, which is not at all. The discussion is fine, but the "you are not in the US, so you are not allowed to talk about it" is kind of silly....don't you think?
  4. I have been pondering this issue. His whole application is based on him being homosexual and the supposed abuse because of his sexual orientation in his home country. However, in 21 years he has not had a homosexual relationship, nor from what I can read any homosexual interaction. I agree that at this point it would not be prudent to grant the refugee claim.
  5. Nothing, but what does have to do with you? Does it affect anything in your life?
  6. As a gift, look into the planting of a tree with a dedication to his son. If he has a yard, that would be great, if he doesn't, maybe on company property.
  7. I am fine with giving the new speaker the same ability as the old speaker. Ie. travel to their riding non-stop. I am not okay with specifically getting the new speaker a bigger plane so she can have more family members travelling with her. On the other hand, the USAF specifically has the bigger planes for the specific purpose of flying senior government officials around. I would think that the Speaker of the house is a pretty senior government official. I think the whole story is kind of silly. But it always seems that the small things turn into huge debates, while larger things (like $12 billion going missing) gets little discussion.
  8. I knew the US would have something in common with the UN.
  9. yeah, heard about that, made the US the laughing stock of the world...
  10. Ohh okay, well no sense discussing it then...we'll just act like nothing happened....
  11. Nope you should use Iraqi money to make both Americans and Iraqis very rich, without any regard for actually helping the country you destroyed. That is a much better use for $12 billion.
  12. I agree with you, but it still makes Wiki correct in this case. In stead of spending all your energy in DZ.com complaining about Wiki, you could have used that same energy to suggest an edit to Wiki to put in wording along the lines of what you wrote above. That pound is normally associated with weight, but can also be used as a measurement of mass. Wiki, would have still been correct, but you would have helped a simpler mind like mine understand Wiki a bit better. Most people know not to use Wiki as a reference, but it is a hell of a decent start point to try and get some references.
  13. I have a hard time believing that quite a few Americans didn't get very, very, very rich during this debacle. To me it also shows that senior government officials don't give a damn about the wellbeing of Iraq or the Iraqis. It almost completely quells any credibility to the reasoning of being there to provide a better place for Iraqis to live.
  14. The current mission in Iraq has precious little to do with freedom for americans, but I can understand that thinking that makes people feel better.
  15. I agree, one speaker got an air force jet to fly non-stop to his riding, so the new speaker should get a jet to fly non-stop to her riding. Agreed?
  16. Obviously that wouldn't be you. Ever thought of the logs and heavy debris also being dragged by the water? How would it feel to get pinned between a car swept up in the flood waters and the wall of a building?
  17. okay, it seems that my ISP somehow knows when torrents are being downloaded and completely throttles back. is there any way around this?
  18. Unless the statistics he provided can be compared as apples to apples, they are rather useless. That isn't semantic hair splitting, it is somewhat common sense.
  19. Some of these are kind of funny, something for everybody.... HEADLINES FROM THE YEAR: 2029 Ozone created by electric cars now killing millions in the seventh largest country in the world, Mexifornia, formerly known as California. 20. Your commentary and stats are completely useless without a definition of violent crime for both the UK and the US. Unless the definition is identical, the comparison of stats means absolutely nothing.
  21. I thought the 10 second ad for the Late Show was pretty funny.
  22. Which also makes it sound very inflammatory. You further completely neglect to even mention that the motivation was something completely different then what was implied with your "selective quote". You could have added another small quote, showing what the actual motivation was/is. You would still stay within copyright laws and you would have been quite a bit more "honest". In short, we call that cherry picking.
  23. This is the same Strategy Page as the one that came up with the "Top 10 Myths about the war in Iraq"? Maybe many haven't responded to it, cause it should be filed with the National Enquirer?
