  1. Part of this will depend on where you plan to ahve the TV. If it is in a bright room, LCD is considered the better option due to very little if any reflection in the screen. If you are set on 1080p and over 40" than plasma is almost unaffordable. I just picked up a Sharp 42" LCD, which does have true 1080p and two HDMI inputs. In the US you should be able to find one of those for around $1,800. They also have a 46" version which is technically even more advanced. But, it would have been too big for where I wanted mine. The Sharp LCD is great value for money, which will give you one of the top rated panels, for a true value price. I am very happy with mine.
  2. According to? And if all of it would go to charity, why not exercise them right away and give it to charity? (which would be tax deductable right?)
  3. And then he voted for the use of force if there was a clear and present danger to the US. There are more ways to disarm than to invade. As it turns out, the diplomatic way was pretty effective.
  4. That is outstanding!!!! Those AEDs are great and I wish there were many more of them around. We used ours 4 times last year, 3 times they left alive, 2 of them are still alive.
  5. Even if that were true, which is somewhat open for debate, and we assume that saddam had the ability to acquire it, and the ability to put it in an actual weapon, he didn't have the ability to actually deliver it to the US. If he sought to acquire it, we can assume he doesn't have it yet, which also means that Iraq wasn't a clear and present danger to the US, which again makes the threat of an imminent mushroom cloud a fallacy.
  6. Actually it tends to be cheaper to keep them in prison than to put them to death. Well, at least it is in the US. The only other countries with a death penalty tend to be somewhat barbaric and their appeals system might be somewhat flawed. But, let's not get facts get in the way of anything....
  7. There are just more of them now. I figured you would say soemthing along those lines. I don't particularly care what other people think of me. But when I know that a growing group of people wants to kill me, I do pay attention, even if I may not care what they actually think. The US State Department?
  8. Personally I think you are less safe cause you ahve pissed off more people and have given many more people a reason to hate you. I think you are less safe because the perception of the US in the International world as a whole has taken a very negative turn. I think you are less safe cause the whole world knows that a third front is not sustainable for the US making threats against Iran and NK very hollow. I think you are less safe cause your own state department and intelligence agencies think you are less safe.
  9. So, if a dirty bomb were to be exploded in New York tomorrow, would you still be safer? Do you only determine being safer based on non-occurences in the past?
  10. I don't think there are many people who believe Saddam was honest about anything, including WMDs. The premise for the invasion was a supposed threat of a mushroom cloud in the US, as paraphrased from another State of the Union. That threat, to me, was a big lie, but one that sold the American public on the necessity of invading Iraq. That statement was a lie then, is a lie now, but Bush needed that lie to be able to invade under the resolution as voted and passed.
  11. Shhh, they haven't figured out yet, that he will be cashing those in about a week after his term ends...and I am pretty sure not all (if any) of it will go to charity.
  12. The highlighted part is what would concern me. If it is easy to get clothing it doesn't penetrate, that would make the system a lot less usefull.
  13. None of those quotes indicate they believed SH and Iraq were a clear and presernt danger to the US though. Secondly, there were other options to disarm him than invading the country. As a matter of fact, as it turns out, what was being done was pretty successful.
  14. Actually, we kind of believe in moving forward, not backwards.... Oh, and you should look up George St. Pierre and call him a sissy, that should go over well.
  15. How do you intend to prove this? Saying the US hasn't been attacked is hardly proof of being safer.
  16. In that case, there are clearly 2.....why isn't there an option for 2?
  17. I find it a sad day on dropzone.com when in discussing the passing of a true skydiving I C O N, you get redirected to advertising....
  18. Right, so they supported Bush in saying that if Saddam would actually pose a direct threat to the US, Bush would be allowed to use force (as per the resolution voted on).
  19. My income just went up drastically....I got a $1,000,000 loan. Never mind that I can't repay that loan...ever, at least my economic indicator is up....
  20. They don't claim to hear voices in their heads which they attribute to God.
  21. It isn't. I wasn't agreeing with him.
  22. nice either or scenario... You indicated that the drinking age was raised due to the high incidence of drinking and driving in the 18 to 21 year old group. To me, that is about maturity and responsibility
  23. Not only Canadians, Americans are required to have a passport to get back in the US as well.
