  1. Oh okay, so your constitution limits the amount of tax that can be placed on a bullet? Can't seem to find that either.
  2. Where in your constitution does it say that you have a right to tax-free bullets?
  3. Like I said, that is one of the ways of looking at it. Many other societies seem to think that making it difficult for potential mass killers to obtain a gun is the alternative. At first glance it would also seem that those same societies suffer from far less incidents of mass murderes going on shooting sprees. (Yes, I know it still happens from time to time)
  4. Actually there was no irritation, nor was the original comment meant to be a "snide rant", just find the two perspectives interesting. Personally I believe that limiting the access to guns works better than adding more guns. Though, I have no interest in taking away gun rights from Americans, it just doesn't affect me one way or the other. I just think that the old adage of "an armed society is a polite society" on which this is based is seriously flawed. It is almost like communism, looks great on paper, but just doesn't work.
  5. Might be a misunderstanding on my part, but I get the impression many thought that if more guns would have been around (in the hands of good guys as one put it) this would have been stopped earlier and less people would have died.
  6. In incidents like this it is interesting to see how many Americans believe that adding more guns is the answer, while most people from other Western societies believe less guns is the answer. Maybe there truly is a very distinct societal difference. (I also wonder if this man would have done the same amount of "damage" in the same amount of time with a knife.)
  7. You are right invading is always the better option...the US should do the same with Iran. Non of this talking stuff....
  8. Yeah, I have always wonderd about that. Also wonder if the prosecuter is pissed off he didn't get the over 1,100 years he was asking for. I mean, the sentence was more than 300 years less than asked, that has got to be a disappointment? Is there a reason the sentence isn't just life in prison with no chance of parole? Is theer an actual "legal" reason for sentencing somebody to 800 years?
  9. Sambal Manis and Sambal Oelek are similar yet different. Both Sambals are Indonesian. The easiest way to find it in North America is to find a Dutch store (I know there are several in Florida). Every Dutch store carries the stuff. Indonesian cooking is pretty ingrained in Holland, since it used to be one of our colonies. Find a Dutch store and you will find both kinds of Sambal.
  10. Yeah it summer then but I'm fully aware of global seasons, The reason is that we are doing a World trip and it's a one way deal, so North america is at the start. I've never seen snow so I wanted to see the rockies in winter. is there a trans country rail service that goes across? Just so it's clear I HAVE NO PLANS REPEAT NO PLANS TO DRIVE ON SNOW[RED] I'm looking at travelling overland if possible by rail or bus

These three sentences together seem a little....odd..eerie...not sure what the right word is....
  14. Send me all the naked ones and I'll fly to PHX to drive you to Eloy
  15. I completely agree. It will be interesting to see if that lawyer will use that tactic in the court proceedings started to stay the deportation.
  16. Jesus Christ that is quite the story. I just don't understand hurting a little child.....
  17. Well said Michele (as usual) very sad indeed, I particularly feel for the newborn baby..
  18. Which doesn't make it so ridiculous. Hard to measure a longer time frame... No, nor am I judging whether he is gay or not. he is claiming that he was mistreated/abused on the account of him being gay. In this case the abuse can't be proven, nor can be proven that he is gay. IMHO there is very little to go on in granting his refugee claim. Hence, it shouldn't be granted.
  19. My mother always told me that I always found the easy way out
  20. I agree with that. Though the planes in thise case have already been purchased. I would assume that running them is covered in the current budget. Net increase or decreae is likely to be very small. I said before, the whole argument is silly and completely politics driven. One speaker got to fly non-stop, the new speaker gets to fly non-stop. This is about as big a non-issue as it really gets.
  21. true, there doesn't seem to be really any account for what happened with it after it got to that country though.
  22. Eating has much more to do with weight loss than exercise does.
  23. Eat bread and drink wine? With a hooker? In the middle east?
  24. You'll have to explain what's so funny?
