  1. The media here is reporting the 'adjustment" is due to a rumour floating around that the Chinese government was going to implement a 20% capital gains tax. If that truly is part of the cause, two things are pretty amazing. 1) How much wealth can go up in smoke due to a rumour. 2) how much influence China has over the rest of the world.
  2. Drawing and shooting your weapon is considered using deadly force regardless of whether the suspect dies or not. Whether or not the person dies is not the determaning factor as to wether something is deadly force or not.
  3. Is it always held within the same dates? Has there ever been a scenario where non-participants tried to get out of a ticket/offence etc by claiming to be part of the exercise? Just the fact that it has been going on for years is not enough communication, which is quite evident from what happened.
  4. That is exactly what they are trying to do. As I posted above, this has generally been successful.
  5. Actually, for most malls who have implemented a system identical or similar to this, the program has been very successful with sales generally rising after implementation. Generally malls implementing this have had long standing trouble with youth loitering, creating problems and generating a negative perception of the shopping centre. By eliminating the large groups of youths loitering in the mall, you can eliminate such a negative perception and the shopping public tends to return. Keep in mind that shopping centres are private property and as such can prohibit anybody they want from entering or staying on their property.
  6. cases like this indicate how valuable police helicopters can be.
  7. Ahh okay, I see what you mean. Still seems to be a lot of ambiguity in that one sentence... I agree with kallend, it would make the most sense to insert wording to clarify.
  8. Doesn't that mean that gun ownership should be restricted to only those fitting this description? Or, is there another definition of militia related only to the 2nd amendmend?
  9. How come that chages from post to post?
  10. As I was reading your post, I thought $100....so I agree with you
  11. Really? To me it seems that the amendmend really isn't that clear. What is a militia. Who did they intend to be part of this militia. When would it be well governed? Are women part of the militia? How about seniors? How about non-whites? It really doesn't appear to be that clear.
  12. I agree. The celebration of getting married is called the wedding.
  13. Most men I know see the Bachelor party not as a celebration of getting married, but as a celebration/farewell to being "single". In that light you aren't being disprespectful to your partner (cause you aren't celebrating getting married together, that's what the wedding is for).
  14. true, but I know and trust my SO to say no if presented with that scenario, so I don't have an issue with them being there. I can see understand that, but I would hope that by the time the Bachelor party roles around your SO is well aware of this and it is a non-issue. If it is an issue, wel then marriage might not be the right step at that point.
  15. I would, but that is not what I said. I trust my SO, if I didn't, I wouldn't be with her. Since I trust her, I would have no reason to believe she would do anything outside of our limits, even if the opportunity was presented. If you don't trust your SO enough to be around strippers/hookers without him or her fucking them, why would you even consider getting married to them?
  16. Ohh I know that sentence all to well by now. it doesn't give the right to all Americqans though, just those belonging to a well regulated militia. So exactly what is the definition of a well regulated militia? (On a second note, does that mean that laws preventing convicted felons from owning guns are unconstitutional?)
  17. He also refered to Anna Nicole Smith's mother as "mama" and addressed her that way during the proceedings. How do you become a judge in the US? Isn't it disturbing a joke like this can sit in such an important role?
  18. I would think that if it is a big enough issue for the majority of americans, it would show up in the platform of a politician.
  19. I would have no issue with strippers, or hookers, at a bachelorette for my SO. None.
  20. Then elect one that will. Obviously it isn't that important to Americans?
  21. Ok, but you show me where in the constitution it says all americans have the right to own firearms!
  22. There was a column in one of the Canadian national newspapers this morning claiming that Harry would serve his men better by not going to Iraq. The reasoning went along the lines of: his men will be more pre-occupied with ensuring that their royal leader doesn't get kidnapped/taken hostage or getting killed and that he is actually putting his men in more danger that way (since he would be presumed a target). I guess there is some vailidty to that, but I don't think it should prevent him from serving his duty.
  23. Ahh okay, that makes sense then. Good to hear you are getting along well with him.
