  1. So Rush, you don't think the timing makes this issue different?
  2. Nor can you take it off private property. I agree, cars and guns should be treated the same way. I know gun owners and the NRA would never agree to that though.
  3. And if they had stolen his debit card and PIN number, what are the chances of getting the cash back from the bank? If they had stolen the same amount of cash from him in bills, what do you think the chances are of him seeing his cash again. I am not saying that credit cards are perfect. Not saying there are not better ways with significantly more effort. I am saying that (in Canada I guess) between cash, debit and credit, a credit card is the better way to go.
  4. I don't understand why people can't see that firing a large group of US Attorneys half way through a term is significantly different from replacing all or most at the start of a term. The latter is almost common practice, the first one has never been done before. Doesn't the timing make you wonder?
  5. A little study in anthropology shows it couldn't possibly be the spaghetti monster. But believe whatever you want
  6. The credit card company and the merchant assume the risk.
  7. And what again did the glorious republican controlled congress achieve while enjoying almost absolute power for quite some time? (it is unusual for this many to get terminated in the middle of the second term of a presidency. We aren't talking about 1 getting canned.)
  8. Which one is it? Always or most of the time? This sentcen doesn't make sense. What I think you are trying to say is not mutually exclusive though. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Just a matter of perspective really. And where is your outrage when Christians are killing Christians? The fuel the productivity of the world in a great many respects. Would hate to see what would happen if those Arab countries decided not to sell their oil anymore.
  9. You seem to forget that these things continually happen in non-muslim countries as well.
  10. Not my theory, been trying to explain to you for a while that too many variables are at play to draw a conclusion based on one variable. You really don't know what would have happened if there had NOT been a gun ban.
  11. Thank God I live in Canada then. No signature, no payment, no charge
  12. So, how do you prove that without the gun ban this decline would have continued? There are so many variables at play that it is impossible to draw a conclusion based on just one variable. (in either direction of this debate)
  13. There may have been some decent statements in your post, but I stopped reading after that sentence.
  14. credit cards are protected, unlike debit cards and cash. If you truly want to limit your exposure, I would suggest using credit cards more and less of cash and debit.
  15. Timing. Previous presidents did so at the start of their terms, not in the middle of the second term.
  16. There are many christian religions/doctrines/communities like that as well. The issue is not Islam. (If you think it is, try going to a protestant area of Northern Ireland and start explaining to people that the Roman Catholic faith is better, or vice versa) When religion is misused the fault is not the religion itself, but those using it.
  17. Thius reeks of you implying the christian way of life is better than the muyslim way of life? Do you believe that, or is that not what you were trying to get across?
  18. Thanks JR, I know we have hashed all those numbers out before. I wasn't trying to bring up and prove a direct correlation between legal gun ownership and murders or gun related crime. There are too many other variables at play. (one for instance is the complete difference in gun ownership between the Swiss and Americans, in that case you simply cannot just look at gun ownership numbers). Fact remains that Western countries with strict gun control laws are fairing better. I would venture to guess that gun control plays a role in that, amongst many other variables. For those only able to think in black and white, that does not mean that I think that strict gun laws are the route to go for the US, or that it would have the same effect in the US.
  19. You were the first person to start talking about a guarantee. So far in most of the world, strict gun laws seem to be working better than proliferating gun ownership.
  20. if you want to hear JFK ground control at any time live go here: http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/kjfk_del_gnd.m3u For others go to www.liveatc.net
  21. So the moral of the story really is, buy at a store and you have slightly more recourse and you don't have to hand in product without getting your money back. All of this could be resolved by getting your ass out of a chair
