AG would have known. POTUS is questionable. You may want to look at the changes made to procedures after Nixon.

See how much of an outlier we are when we stop selling our oil to you (And to get your military to invade us, you actually need money to pay them.)

And there is a fairly significant black market for those in Canada. There is a fairly significant market for people in Virginia loading up a truck with cigarettes and driving it to New York, too. There are periodic busts but it is hugely profitable for smugglers. I'm in the wrong racket. Stop playing tennis.

If a man in that position allows himself to get into a position to be blackmailed, he should get fired. From what is known know, he is taking an "honourable" route.

Lol, I told Ron the same thing. According to him I was just negative and pro-Obama

Some advise for the GOP in a changing world
SkyDekker replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Taxes are general revenue and to be spent as government sees fit. Oh, you mean like Social Security? If your lected politicians decide that is aprt of it, then yes. If you don't like it, try and get a politician elected who will/can change it. In the mean time we have, according to you a GOP leadership who squandered north of a billion dollars on a campaign they couldn't win. Yet you think they would be the best fiscal choice. Either your logic is a little off, or you didn't mean something you said. Neither would be a huge surprise. -
What are the US problems that need to fixed in the next four years?

Not at all...but it basically puts a ceiling on revenue. If your expenditures can exist under that ceiling, great, but you are going to run into a real problem if they cannot. -
US Navy SEALS punished for leaking information

I guess the Navy doesn't take their non-disclosure agreements lightly. Many companies don't either....whats the big deal? -
Or just hang a banner...

Yet you have had a tax system like that for quite some time and people have still been succesful and the country hasn't turned communist. Your reasoning seems to be more routed in fear of this possibly happening. A flat tax is limited by what the poorest can pay, which probably isn't the best way of setting up a solid revenue stream. -
When has it not been politics?

Different rules for different people within an organization. Like our CEO is authorized to speak to the press, I am not. -
Not a bad idea Ron, we wouldn't want facts to cloud your judgement.

And there is a fairly significant black market for those in Canada. A couple of decades ago, the provincial government in Ontario actually reduced taxes on tobacco products to reduce the criminal element associated with the underground tobacco markets. (As a side note, some manufacturers were found to be directly supplying that illegal market) In the end, in a fully legalized market, price point and availability will determine the value of any illegal trade.

Some advise for the GOP in a changing world
SkyDekker replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Nor am I. However a 15% reduction in voter turnout in the North East is going to effect the Democrats more than the Republicans. Hence, the total counts you are providing are skewed and the real difference likely not as extreme as you are portraying. -

Taxes are general revenue and to be spent as government sees fit. Hence electing people, who according to you have spent billions on a race they could not win, would not be overly smart. -
Panetta never announced that it was for refusing orders. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff specifically denied it. And so you can start posting your next round of poorly sourced innuendo, look up Rear Admiral Gaouette.

Snopes says 100% true.

Some advise for the GOP in a changing world
SkyDekker replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Have to take into account two other things. Sandy, which greatly reduced voter turnout in traditional Democratic states and total reduced voter turnout. -
Any organization has its corrupt elements. A provincial government is not going to be exampt from that. If you want to see corruption to its core, one would be better suited to look at Montreal and the Quebec construction industry. Didn't take exception. Just indicating you are just repeating talking points without basis in fact. I don't work in the public sector, nor is there anybody in my immediate circle of friends or family who work in the public sector. And public sector workers do get downsized...

Some advise for the GOP in a changing world
SkyDekker replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
So a group who wastes their own money should be trusted with other's money? Or maybe they could win the race and in stead of blaming others, they should look at what they did wrong themselves? -

So according to you the GOP spent billions on a race they could not win? Not really a great example of fiscal prudence. -

A balanced budget with a focus on debt reduction.
