  1. The justice system simply isn't perfect. (Remember this ruling when you argue in favour of the death penalty)
  2. Isn't that what a grand jury is for? When you have to use words like "seems to" you are probably in a situation where you would want a (grand) jury to decide. That is in the end what the justice system is for.
  3. Let me explain it to you. You likely said that to somebody who either is, or perceived to be progun. In that case you are automatically considere to be a rabid anti gun nut. All further communication will be absed on that.

I don't think you have a gun problem. I think you have a violence problem.
  5. That would effectively criminalize the skydiving industry.
  6. There is your first logical leap. And there is your second logical leap. Thank you for proving my point
  7. So it is part of a process outlined in the contract executed by the employer and by the union. Why would you only blame the union for it? The employer agreed to the process.
  8. I am not twisting or laying blame. I am asking a simple question based on your statement that he was just returning to his vehicle. What was he doing when he left his vehicle? According to you he was not pursuing...so what was he doing?
  9. Wouldn't he have had to pursue to be able to "return" to his vehicle?
  10. I am no lover of unions. But, did the union unilaterally decide this and the employer didn't fight it, or was there some judicial body or arbitration process involved?
  11. Or the pound writes good cheques to the right people. Cops are the biggest gang out there. Always telling people they should come forward and snitch. Yet, when it comes to their own bad apples...they are about as tight lipped as they get.
  12. No voter ID laws means you are cheating? At least you are consistent in not needing any proof before you believe something.
  13. No different than the logical leap in the belief that every killing with a gun as a tool, would have taken place without that gun as a tool. Or the logical leap need to favour open container laws, because some people might do something bad, but not favour gun restrictions because it only hurts law abiding citizens. There are lots of logical leaps in the whole gun debate.
  14. If she can pronounce that she is using the safeword way to early
  15. Well, if you are going to run government like a business, one needs to look at cost and profit and to a lesser degree beenfit to the market you are doing business in, to posibly protect profit. Airdvr, nice remark about not for profit corporations (or nonprofit organizations), but I doubt that those who claim a country should be run as a business had nonprofits in mind.
  16. Really? So you favour government stopping any spending on people who do not pay taxes? Since as a business you don't focus on non-paying customers. You would also favour the government stop any activity that does not run a profit? Military, gone. NASA, gone. CIA, gone. Homeland Security gone. Massive investment in DEA, so confiscated proceeds can be kept. Justice system, gone. Supreme Court, gone. Senate and House of Representatives massively reduced and true power and decision making consolidated to one or maybe 2 positions. Board of Directors (Congress) is generally hand picked and holds no true power. etc, etc, etc
  17. What point do you think is proven? You really think the country should be run like a business? Do you have any clue what that would mean?
  18. a lot of posts getting deleted....must be missing some "great" posts lol
  19. Right, except a government isn't the same as a business. Running a country is simply not equivalent to running a business.
  20. To clarify, I am not overly in the habit of randomly replying only to agree.
  21. I highly doubt that I am the only one who calls this love afair with anything uniform adoration. And your above examples are not similar. When was the last time you randomly walked into a hospital and thanked nurses and doctors. Being nice is not something over the top. I am Canadian, we are known for being overly nice and polite. There is a difference between being nice and walking up to a cop only to say thank you.
  22. I think that when you take a realistic look at cutting these small amounts, implementation often costs more than possible savings. Just like in business, some operational loss is to be expected, as long as it stays within certain parameters, those are not the most effective areas to be focussing on for a significant net reduction in expenditures.
