  1. Cop was just standing his ground. The largest gang in the world in action. Cop will soon be back on full duty with an "atta boy" and a "please don't do that again, too much paperwork".
  2. And the Bush family made a fair bit of money dealing with the Nazis. Don't think that dampened your support for him very much.
  3. Wendy P. And none of them will go to prison for what they have done.
  4. We tell ourselves lies, because the truth is too unbearable. Is that a fact, or something you believe?
  5. oh absolutely....and depending on what happened, there might only be small parts to look for.
  6. Took a while before anything was found in the Air France crash.
  7. Being lesbian doesn't protect you from rape.
  8. And I notice you have very short hair. I'm sure that means something. Yes it keeps me in touch with my lesbian side.
  9. That's a lot of old names coming out of the woodwork.
  10. Lol, if that was the case, the Muslim barber wouldn't sign a confidentiality agreement. But logic doesn't play a big role in your reasoning, does it? I think I will go with the author. http://godfatherpolitics.com/14623/muslim-barber-shop-case-settled-secret-woman-filed-complaint/#BhmjMRV5pmEg2F5h.99 QUOTE: Is McGregor going to get her haircut from the Muslim barbers who, because of religious reasons, are not permitted to cut the hair of a woman if she is not a family member? We don’t know. It’s my guess that pressure was put on McGregor to drop the complaint for fear of protests and possible reprisals from the large Muslim population in Toronto. “In the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), 7.7% of the population is Muslim, making GTA the highest concentration of Muslims in any city in North America.” Mind you, it’s just a guess. END OF QUOTE Yes, I would take his "guess" over your emotional outbursts. I live and work in Toronto. My work deals with commercial real estate and the use of such. And I have to say I agree, I feel this constant pressure to have to conform to the Muslims and abide by their Sharia law. It is very opressive here in Toronto.
  11. Can we still make fun of the Dutch? You aint Dutch, you aint much.
  12. Lol, if that was the case, the Muslim barber wouldn't sign a confidentiality agreement. But logic doesn't play a big role in your reasoning, does it?
  13. What used to be Radio Shacks in Canada are now called The Source and the quoted above describes them well. They are in pretty much every mall in Canada.
  14. To prevent it from turning into an American style gong-show with extremists on both sides yelling and screaming and drawing lines in the sand. Both parties probably recognized there would be no clear winner in the end, with lots of money spent. Hence, you shake hands on move on, nice and polite. It is the Canadian way, even if one is a muslim and they other a lesbian.
  15. It is not a presumption. Your guns have not been taken away. You can still buy them.
  16. Finally someone admits the Civil Rights laws are not without flaws and didn't "fix" racism. The whole point of this debate is that we don't need to make the same mistakes again. I didn't realize that was even in question. I don't think there are too many people who think that racism has been "fixed". Not sure how a law specifically allowing discrimination helps in this "fix". The whole idea of being nice and decent and not doing business with anybody who isn't nice and decent is wonderfully utopian. However, it is pretty clear to me that the far majority of people behave in what is best for them personally. So what the clothes get made in brutal conditions by 10 year old children...it is cheap, so it helps my wallet. That is but one example. Sometimes the free market principle doesn't work, sometimes it doesn't work fast enough.
  17. And they used to actually have RADIOS. Now the selection is pathetic. 'We've lost our course, Captain...' Never put 'Radio' into the name of a company unless you plan on carrying the best radios. At one time, they did. They had these radios with an external antenna screw for connecting a wire for extended range AM. I would take this radio camping, and even in the most remote wilderness I could still get baseball and football games by attaching a 100' copper wire off a roll and throwing it over a couple of tall trees. Just like Home Depot sells the best homes You should see the offices I saw at Office Depot...best in town!
  18. Exactly. So now who had the most to gain by this threat perception? Who do you think created the perception? Since you don't like Obama you discount the possibility that this threat was heavily overstated by the NRA and other gun lobbies.
  19. And your updated model includes the legalization of discrimination?
  20. Exactly....Obama knew about this School administrator making this much money....and he didn't do anything about it. Probably another communist muslim from Kenya! Better go buy some guns, they are invading the country.
  21. I like how the group usually high on telling people to take responsibility for their actions, is all up in arms. Not like in both these cases these were hidden rules, or something the child (or parent in the 2 year old case) could not be aware of. Do I find it stupid, yes! But if those are the rules, take responsibility for your actions. Not like any basic human rights were being violated.
  22. I wondered how large a factor penmanship played in the scoring of those essays. It certainly wasn't a strong suit for me then, and after a few decades of keyboard jockeying, I couldn't possibly do well with it. (Or has it gone electronic anyway, providing with with a computer? The article notes that it correlated to income, but its correlation to IQ was much higher. I'll bet you could put a simple cover letter and resume together though. I am amazed at the lack of ability to do a simple thing like that, in proper English, by those who have graduated high school.
  23. ...he said... ...in response to the first 25% of a sentence that went on to explain that comparisons of only a couple cities would not accurately give you a good comparison of two countries... ...sigh... After the issue was raised regarding population density. At which point I suggested we compare densly populated cities in the countries in question. With firearm homicide rates lower in densely populated Canadian cities than in densely populated American cities, that doesn't appear to give you the answer you are looking for. In response to that you brought up that Redondo Beach is just as densely populated as Toronto, therefor looking at population density alone would not work.
  24. I am not. Just asking a question. ***And Redondo Beach has a similar population density to Toronto, That's why I suggested comparing cities of similar size (and population desnity, though Toronto is significantly more densly populated than LA for instance) But, guess you would prefer to cherry pick to make things work for you. The US and Canada also report different types and levels of crimes in the various categories. It's like comparing a white seedless grape to a dark blue squeeze grape. You are right, we tend to classify murder as shoplifting. So basically we don't know if the US is more violent than Canada. We also don't know if more people (per 100) get shot and killed in which country. But, we do know that guns have nothing to do with it.
  25. So basically the conservatives were wrong about this direct threat to their ability to procure firearms. And, like good little sheep they went on a bit of a feeding frenzie. Now that they realize they have been had and look incredibly stupid, they are sheepishly going back to normal, while the NRA, Gun Lobby and the manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank. Let me guess, this should be followed with tax cuts, so you can pay for your guns?
