  1. Yup, you are a patriot if you condemn a man to death, or take up arms. You are an enemy of the state if you help pay for health care coverage for Americans.
  2. He feels he has been forgiven. You feel you are gay. You and Ron can fight over what those feelins mean. However, asking to prove a feeling is a little silly.
  3. You pose a question that is a good one. I can't say for certain in my mind that Fred Phelps was evil. He was the leader of a an off beat Christian cult; he was about as obnoxious as one can be but was he condemned by God? I don't know. This I do know, when you receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit He guides you on the path of righteousness. How well you follow His guidance is a function of your free will. My church believes that your salvation can be sacrificed and lost. I have trouble with that concept. Only God knows. I am responsible for me and me only. So who is more evil: Obama or Phelps?
  4. How do you know you're gay? Do you get a pink diploma? No pink diploma. If I wanted to fuck a guy in the butt I could do it. And I would see it with my eyes, I could take a picture, even a video.. someone could also smell that there was poop on it. I would know with extremely strong confidence that my dick was in fact in another man's butt. But how does one know when they are being saved? No you could take a picture, or video, or see what your actions are. You couldn't take a picture of your desire. The same way you know you are gay.
  5. How do you know you're gay? Do you get a pink diploma?
  6. I guess all the depictions of him are wrong, but all the stories as written in the bible are true. Bit of a logical stretch.
  7. No it isn't. You can disregard the Roberts decision all you want, but without his 5th vote, ACA was toast. For a guy who is always harping on the details and how important it is, you are sure quick to accept this incorrect statement. You are correct that without that ruiling the ACA in its current format would have been toast. You are still incorrect that the Supreme Court rules ACA a tax. It makes for a great sound bite and rallying cry....but it is still wrong. Whether or not ACA is a turd, is yet to be seen. As can be seen by this simple statement, emotions are by far overruling fact. It will take a number of years to see what the true impact is.
  8. Yup, the wrestlers and volleyball players will suffer. But many college players in "popular" sports are de-facto professional players. Whether or not you think I am badly mistaken, you are going to see massive changes in College Sports and NCAA in the next couple of years. And Jerry, I agree that unionization is not the right answer. It is just a sign that the "volunteers" want a slice of the pie.
  9. If there wasn't a limit on how much they could earn, they would provided a salary by the university, which would cover their tuition as well as taxes paid (and then some for the best players) College Footbal is big business, yet the majority of those employed do not get paid. As a matter of fact, they are prohibited from earning a wage. This is almost textbook reasoning as to why anti-trust laws are in existence. I am surprised it has taken this long for an anti-trust suit to come forward. No it wouldn't.
  10. Ron was a criminal most of his life wasn't he? All you have to do is wait till you're old and near death, then accept the lord! And viola you're saved Let's face it.. any jackass, low life, or scumbag can be saved, it takes 10 seconds to accept Jesus as your savior. Jesus is a cunt, I will follow in Ron's steps and worry about the Jesus shit later Meh, you don't even have to worry about it, the mormons will do it all for you.
  11. "I'd like to start you, kid. You'd be a starter. But seniority rules, and so you'll be in the press box today." I think the anti-trust suit against the NCAA will be very interesting to follow. This is just the start. And the players wouldn't mind paying taxes on their scholarships, but they aren't allowed to earn more than $2,000 a year. That would be against NCAA regulations.
  12. What on Earth does this asshole running guns and taking bribes have to do with State benefits? Obama is a muslim.
  13. Oh! and let's not forget Mark 12:31 If there is a dress code and a code of behavior, and the child doesn't, or won't comply, then the final sentence of that quote is probably correct. I don't see the big deal. Are you saying it is her right to attend that school? Are you trying to argue that the school should show special treatment to her? I can only imagine what would happen if this was a Muslim private school and the outrage over a girl being forced to adhere to a certain behaviour pattern and dress a certain way.
  14. I get what you are seeing, though I don't quite see how death and voter fraud are quite on the same playing field. I think it is pretty clear that these voter ID laws have absolutely nothing to do with voter fraud.

Nothing more than x + 1 = y. That's linear. So you really have no credibility to criticize those who struggle with enormous numbers of coupled non linear differential equations. If they try to tell me that I had a cold winter, then yes, I will criticize them. Move to Toronto or Winnipeg and you won't have to criticize them. The Canada Geese got to Winnipeg long enough to head back south this spring. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/bitter-spring-sends-geese-back-south-after-stop-in-winnipeg-1.2586117

Is science really a "debatable" subject. Isn't the only real way to debate, to bring new facts, adjust the hypothesis and continue on? Absolutely. Science advances because it is debated. Merely accepting what is told by those in the know leads to stagnation. There are different views of it. Someone like Feyman says that if the observation doesn't match the prediction, then the hypothesis is wrong. Others says that there can be some adjustments - sort of a "mostly right" and continue to fiddle with it. As Gavin Schmidt just said, "Observations of the future are not available at this time." So how do we observe and fiddle with climate models? [Quote]Debate sounds like there is a matter of judgement. Here's a scientific debate: what is the climate sensitivity to CO2? Short term? Long term? Nobody knows. Estimates range from under 1 degree to over 5 degrees C. Attempting to project the future (let's face it - climate science is all about modeling and future projections) can be inheerntly untrustworthy when the dominat factor you're looking for has a range of over 500%. It's why think that AGW is real. But not gonna be a big deal. There are lots of observations that support this belief. But that's my judgment. Others conclude otherwise. More facts may change or confirm my belief. As soon as I hit submit, I knew it was a bit of a semantics argument. And, I probably didn't do a very good job explaining it. Obviously I didn't mean to say that science should merely be accepted. Science is used to create a model, with which a debate can take place. The stronger the model, the less debate and the more accurate the prediction of future behaviour gets.

  18. My big picture comments were directed at a Troll who likes to be obtuse. Fair question from you, though. I view the Immigration problems as part of much more pervasive problems in this country. Yes, you could sum a lot of it up as an issue of cheap labor. I like history, Joe. I've read about the different animosities between various ethnic groups as new waves hit our shores. It was quite a different situation during the late '1800s_early 1900's, though. Opportunities were plentiful. The vast majority of this beautiful land remained under/undeveloped. It's an entirely different situation, now. The 1% keep sucking more & more of the wealth up to themselves. Search the Net for some figures on how bad it's gotten over the past few decades. It's obscene. To steal more from the populace, they dictate that the borders remain porous. They dictate that the H1B program remains intact. All Illegals aren't dishwashers, gardeners, or other menial workers. Some make quite a bit more than that. Yes, some are abused, & victimized. I've led a Hemmingesque kind of life. I've done all sorts of work before & during college. A lot of those jobs were very physical. Nowadays, younger guys can't go pick up work like that unless they're señor citizens. In the past few years, how many guys would've jumped at the chance to make $300-$400 a day humping block or tree trunks to keep feeding their families, Joe? How many kids who have to work through college, like I did, can't get decent paying jobs because their skin is the wrong color? The Labor Board makes a big stink when they announce that 150,000 jobs were created. Try creating 20 friggin million jobs. Jobs like I did during college don't pay nearly as well as they did. The Illegals have lowered the wages. White Guys can't get hired for them because they're not wanted for those jobs. There is also a segment of society who will work jobs like that for the rest of their lives. They are American citizens w/every right to those jobs. They've been displaced. The evils of the H1B program is another like topic. Jobs are being robbed from what once was the middle class by that same 1%. You think that Illegals don't get on the dole? Joe, I work in health care. I routinely am forced to provide care to illegals. Illegals who have no Social Security number, & get combative when asked. They have full-ride welfare benefits. They think they're entitled to care that I have to explain to working Americans that they can't afford. Illegal aliens are getting on the dole in droves. One way is for them to pop out an Anchor Baby. Then, the friggin flood gates open for them... &, if their gringo boyfriend abuses them (or, they just say so?). They'll get everything: housing, food, health care, schooling. Perhaps it's not as obvious in your part of the country, Joe. I assure you that Illegals are costing all of us ridiculous sums of money. Some here might think I'm a racist. I'm not. I'm a bilingual white guy who speaks Spanish. I know a lot of Hispanic people who are fine people. Yes, most of the Illegals simply want a better way of life. The problem is, they're taking it from Americans who belong here. You say they've earned some of those perks because they pay some taxes? You think they've earned in-state tuition rates?? I didn't get in-state rates all my college years, & I belong here. They never should've been here. Joe, if I came to your town, & stole $50,000. Would you be OK w/it if I gave back $15,000? Try & pull what Illegals do in this country, back in their own. You'll be immediately imprisoned & deported. I'm not even mentioning the crime wave of felons that come across the border, as well. That's a no-brainer. The best part, is it's not even that many Illegals are getting so much on the dole. It's that they're so ungrateful, they think they've a right to all of it. Hell, I'll show you families w/several freaking kids, all on the dole... Many American Families around here struggle to provide for one or two children. Oh & forget about assimilation. There's open animosity, w/absolutely no intent to ever adopt this culture for their own. I'm tired & rambling, but there it is. I'm not a Nazi. I'm not afraid of Hispanics. I'm not xenophobic. I like different cultures. Those aren't the issues, here. I'm not advocating for the entire Constitution or BoR to be suspended, either. Only a few points might need to be suspended for a time to set things right, again. Illegal Immigration is being used by the 1% to further destroy this country, Joe. I take that very personally. So your "big picture" is one long anecdote?
  19. I don't know if they do this in France, but I know in Holland they do what is called Trajectcontrole. Basically they take your average speed over a distance, if your averaghe speed is higher than the posted speed limit, you get a ticket. (Looks like Belgium does the same thing, Dave)
  20. Then your response doesn't make sense. Study is global, you are dimissing it based on US numbers. Unless you are suggesting the US will be fine even if globally shit hits the fan?
  21. Your Nazi quote was a propos. This sentiment is exactly what Hitler was creating. Find an identifyable group to blame all the negatives on. You're still missing the point, & the big picture. At least You're consistent ... What's the bigger picture? Is illegal immigration a problem, yes it is, specially since your border is porous. The costs involved to make it not so porous is pretty high. You make it sound like deporting all illegal immigrants is relatively easy. You even suggest to suspend the constitution in those artea where it may not be so easy. Maybe we need to begin with the true downside and costs associated with illegal immigration. I.e. is the problem really as big as you seem to think it is? The way you are invoking nazis just makes it sound like you want to get rid of brown people.
  22. BLAME CANADA!!! I'll go buy my armnband now....Might be hard to goosestep in snowshoes. Don but easier to herd us into ovens...we inherently follow the warmth.
