  1. Wow...so those kids are not American to you? That right is granted in the constitution. you're such a strict constructionalist - such a conservative I'd've thought you'd side more with the constitution is a 'living breathing document' crowd. you never know when a true fanatical right winger will come out of the closet.... DOH!! Busted... Actually I am shocked by people suggesting americans should just get deported.
  2. It applies to civil cases as well. (just not civil cases of one spouse vs other spouse)
  3. Gotta be honest, never understood that one anyway. What's the reasoning for it? They are based on the idea of encouraging spousal harmony. Strong marriage tend to be better for society. A better society leads to a better, stronger and more prosperous country.
  4. Yes, that is something you would think. The concept of thinking for yourself is quite foreign. All these "discussions" with you run along the same line. 1. you post some talking point you saw on a right wing website You get challenged on it. Often asked what you think for yourself 2. you come back with some more talking points dug up from some right wing website. When you are challenged again you just start posting one lines. Couple of emoticons etc. Then at the end you get so frazzled, you can't even imagine how people think for themselves. You kind of remind me of this "guy": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8BMkR-pVW0
  5. One lie tries to bring health care to more americans The other lie killed americans. Why are you upset about the lie that tries to improve health care for americans, but happy about the lie that killed thousands of your country men and women? Improve???? Talk about just spews what one reads on the internet or facebook It says tries to improve.

  7. Maybe there is, however you are vilifying Obama for supposedly lieing to get health crae for americans. Yet, you celebrate Bush for screwing up and getting thousands of Americans killed. To steal from and paraphrase a fellow Canadian: Corporate profits are at a record high. Unemployment is below 6% and you are adding roughly 200,000 jobs a month. Stock indexes are at or near record highs. Gross national product growth is the best of any OECD country. The US dollar is gaining strength. Oil prices are falling, US oil imports are declining and US oil production is increasing rapidly. Oh and your deficit is starting to reduce as well. On top of that, your venerated wealthy are still making incredible amounts of money. Makes sense you would want to punish Democrats and yearn for the return of Republicans. The party that got you into the mess to begin with. I am glad you got all the talking point excuses down to try and drag this thread off topic ACA is what we are talking about It was sold as a big lie you are ok with that I am not I look forward to you next twist should you decide not to put the shovel down Yes, I figured you would say that. So let me pull a rush... Prove that Obama lied. A court case maybe?
  8. Wow...so those kids are not American to you? That right is granted in the constitution.
  9. I"m not a scientist, but I am alittle lost as to what you are trying to say here. I agree with kelpdiver. The ridicule comes when people just repeat things they have read on some obscure website, or on facebook, or heard on some talk show and repeat it as "gospel". I don't think ridicule should be involved with people who have a discussion about things they have read or experienced etc. Some of your posts on climate issues come to mind with that. You explain what leads you to the believe/thoughts you have. Nothing wrong with that. As far as ridiculing those who aren't scientists...this world would be a boring place if only scientists lived on it. I am very happy we have people flipping burgers, entrepeneurs, taxi drivers, hair dressers, etc. etc. etc.

  11. What about health care decisions when dying? Spousal privilege in court?
  12. And a lot of them are brown!! Exactly...many of those are arabs.
  13. So we have one president who lied to get health care to more americans. We have the preceding president who lied to go to war and kill thousands of Americans. You have made it clear which one you support. Indeedexcept you are lying about bush but you should have posted this to kallend Even if that is the case it would read: We have one president who lied ot get health crae for Americans. We have another president who fucked up royally and got thousands of americans (and tens if not hundreds of thousands of non-americans) killed and facilitated the rise of ISIL. We know which one you support.
  14. Average around $0.28/kWh in 2011 to $0.25/kWh in 2013 for non-industrial customers and half that for industry, from a small amount of research.* Regardless of amount or starting point, Bill's post says that wind farms are driving down energy costs. So how does it support your argument? SO you're saying they're useless. So how does Bill's post support your position? * EU stats webiste, purely the price for the electricity without taking into account fixed infrastructure costs, I believe. Norwegian office of stats says that pure electricity prices dropped over 20% quarter for quarter from 2013 to 2014. Bill's post regardless, the fact remains that in ontario wind makes up about 4 % of the power supply, and is responsible for 20% of the cost increases in recent years... Mostly because we (tax payers) subsidize the cheap export to other provinces and states.
  15. So we have one president who lied to get health care to more americans. We have the preceding president who lied to go to war and kill thousands of Americans. You have made it clear which one you support. Indeed
  16. If the media wanted us to believe that, why would they report on the mother?
  17. No, I have mentioned this before on dz.com. Even when appointed, it would seem that appointments are based on if the judge will rule according to party affiliation or not. At least, that's the sense I get. Electing people in the judicial system is insane in my opinion.
  18. The issue that has compounded the difficulty is the babies born on US soil (and for Canada on Canadian soil) automatically become citizens. There aren't many countries who do this. So, you can't deport an underage American citizen, but what do you do with the kid after you have deported the parents?
  19. Quite the justice system when decisions get made according to party affiliation.
  20. There are so many threads in which I ask you to clearly state your position. This again is one of them. Somehow you just never do. Or you make it so vague that a follow up question is warranted (sometimes because your sentences don't always make sense), which you then tend to dance around. So, what is your position? Do politicians lie to get elected or have they been saying the same thing for decades (with the suggestion they could not have been lieing this election)?
  21. As I look at the actual winners and read their statements I am optimistic that the GOP has indeed started to shed its loony right wing. Of course, all politicians lie so they may just be saying centrist stuff in order to get elected. Actually, for the most part they are saying the same thing they have been saying for decades So it appears that you haven't read what they've been saying. Actually it appears you believe what you are told they are saying Your position appears to be that those who do not agree with you regarding the GOP are either misinformed or have swallowed the lies of the main stream media? I always enjoy the reactions I get when I turn the left bs back on them So it is not your position and you agree that they have not been saying the same thing for decades?

  23. As I look at the actual winners and read their statements I am optimistic that the GOP has indeed started to shed its loony right wing. Of course, all politicians lie so they may just be saying centrist stuff in order to get elected. Actually, for the most part they are saying the same thing they have been saying for decades Just like the Dems still say the R's want to kick grandma out of her house, take away SS, enslave blacks, take away minority voting rights, starve kids and the poor The electorate is now starting to roll thier eyes when this desperate bs spews forth Just like the spew you just posted You don't believe that politicians lie to get elected?
  24. ??? The sum total of the appropriation bills passed by the houses and signed by the president is the budget. They are not a distinct thing. No, some of them are part of the budget. Most budgets also have a revenue component. Supplemental Appropriation Bills are not part of the original budget. Regardless of the semantics, rushmc says the US would be better off if laws do not get passed. I am still waiting to hear how the US is supposed to function that way.
  25. No, because you haven't shows how this reasonably can be completed without the parties working together? This started with you saying that you don't think the parties should work together and how the US is better off without laws getting passed. You also haven't touched on appropriation bills, which are laws that have to get passed to free up funding for Defence and Veteran Affairs as an example.
