And if you like your plan you can keep your plan . . . remember? Smart people made boatloads of money in the last 6 years, so an increase in premiums really shouldn't be a problem. Not my problem if you are too stupid or too lazy to make money.

Prison should be for crimes involving violence or crimes against persons. The rest should be house arrest and community service. Personally, I would rather go to jail for a month than have to do 30 days at home with mom where I was her problem. You stole someone's iPhone? OK, that's bad. House arrest and service. You smacked someone in the head and stole their iPhone? That's jail time. What about when the "convict" refuses community service or violates the house arrest? That's easy, you just choke him or shoot him.

Not everyone. When I first moved back to Canada I sold cars for a little while. Certainly not my strength, but you have to make a living somehow. Didn't sell a single car in my first week there. During my second week there, I was sent on the lot to get rid of the homeless guy who was hanging around the Durangos. I made quadruple the regular commisison off that "homeless guy" who turned out to be a plastic surgeon making well over $300,000 a month....yes a month. And I learned a wise lesson I have clung onto ever since then: Don't judge a book by its cover. Then let us take a trip to downtown Miami, and we , test your theory. I have just the place, it is called overtown. Wanna play? What exactly is the "theory" you got out of that post and that we would test?

Yes, I am sure that is the reason. lol

You kep sayin that, but you have really been the only one making that statement. Violence is a problem. Violence between civilians, and violence between police and civilians, in both directions, is a problem. Guns play a role in this. Saying guns could not possibly be a problem is just as stupid as saying that banning guns would solve any problems.

Then why not state what you think the real issues are? Liberal welfare policy that perpetuates government dependency and the Milwalkee county WI county sherif says it better than anyone https://www.google.com/search?q=Milwaukee+county+WI+sheriff&safe=active&biw=1680&bih=910&noj=1&source=lnms&tbm=nws&sa=X&ei=GqqhVLbLI4X1yASNmICgAw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg What do YOU think is the problem? I think the problem is significantly more complex than "Liberal welfare policy". If such a policy were the truly the real issue, countries such as Canada and most, if not all, European countries would be far worse off. After all, they are downright socialist or communist in your mind. The problems the US faces are not the result of simply one political policy.

Does the babe come with the boat, or is that extra? -
Well, you don't have any in your profile. By all means, show us more of yourself! Nah, I'm good. Thanks.

The irrationality of the gun law landscape in the US doesn't actually fall directly across party lines, but it is fairly close. It is a regrettable stand-off between one group and their lobbyists who spend most of their energy on all the wrong things (for example, California tries to ban something new about rifles and magazines every stinking year, it's insanity by everyone's favorite definition.) and another group and their lobbyists who spend all their effort trying to stop everything the first group is doing because the vast majority of it is ridiculous. Interesting read, touches on some of that irrationality: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/german-designed-smart-guns-rerouted-after-cultural-backlash-in-us/article22222138/

You were doing okay until you wrote this sentence. First off, if the car is reported to contain a murder suspect, all those race statistics collapse. You now should exercise the appropriate level of caution for dealing with a murder suspect regardless of race. Secondly, none of this is about "exercising caution." Your statement/logic is wrong in a way that has nothing to do with his argument. It's not compelling to say "Oh yeah? Well, fish are on bicycles and the sky is green according to your logic!" You just end up sounding like an oaf. No shit sherlock. -
This. I am not overly religous, but I very much enjoy going to church. I enjoy my one our a week of quiet reflection, with some interludes of pipe organ. Do I need organized religon for that? No, but it works for me.

At least you stopped having segregated proms in the last couple of years.

Al Sharpton, inciting this kind of behavior. People in the UK throw stones and bottles at firemen and paramedics because of Al Sharpton?

If you'd like to talk about how film distribution works from studio to theater and what the deals are and how the money flows we can do that, but I can pretty well guarantee there would be zero "repercusison." Quade, why do you think only independent movie theatres showed the movie?

You and I will have to agree that we have different opinions of what would constitute civilized.

If North Korea doesn't have internet, how did your FBI determine the Sony hacking was perpetrated by North Korea? Either North Korea has internet or your FBI is as stupid as most Americans think North Koreans are....

There are over 300 million guns in the USA and counting each day. Not even kallend is naive enough to think that disarming the population of the USA is possible to remove even half of those from its citizens. One of the rare times I agree with you. Disarming the US at this point would serve absolutely no purpose. In the mean time you guys will just have to live with the society the founding father's shaped. One of the most violent, untrusting societies in the civilized world.

Simply for driving? Of course that doesn't constitute suspicious behavior, and shouldn't be reason to pull them over. But if pulled over, they should be respectful and then be on their way. Belligerence is not the way to respond. It's not about perception, it's about facts, like the ones I posted, above. It's an ugly truth that no one wants to admit or confront. But until we do, nothing will change... And 100% of police brutality is commited by cops, hence you are better off shooting them before they can get to you, they are armed after all. At least if we follow your logic. -
You don't. You can't just kill everyone who hates you (and everyone else in the neighbouring area, no matter what their feelings) and not expect to create many more people who hate you. You have set an impossible criteria for 'winning'. No matter how much you flap your lips about your desire to go down as one of the greatest mass murderers in history none of it is worth a damn if you can't grasp that simple concept. And I hope you enjoy your christmas as well - inbetween your daydreams of armageddon, obviously. +1

What do we want? Dead Cops! When do we want it? NOW!!!!

I guess Americans tend to be more violent psychopaths than other cultures then. -

So you agree that teh easy and wide availability of guns is to blame for this violence? I thought guns didn't kill people, but people killed people? Why are you using the availability of guns as an excuse for violence? When it comes to gun-rights you argue the complete opposite of the position you are taking now. -
Hang on a second. When the anti-gun crown claims that due to the wide and easy availability of guns in the US, gun crime is high, the statement is that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Yet, now you are using that argument to justify the very high number of police on civilian shootings? You know you are thereby agreeing that easy availability of guns leads to increased violence right? You sure you want to continue on this line of logic?

Stop torture? Well maybe prosecute those responsible for it. People like Cheney need to stand trial for what they have done. Let the justice system decide if torture was legal or not.
