Fox News is the most trusted television outlet for news.

Which then begs the question: Will an ugly great journalist be overlooked for a stunning mediocre journalist? -
Trevor Noah/New Daily Show host is an anti-semite

The real joke is that there is national outrage about who replaces who on a comedy show.....and it instantly gets politiced. -
Look at the title, it has BS in the nsame, how could BS be off topic? Not my fault you didn't know there was as much consensus about climate change as the shape of the earth

Isn't it "for fuck's sake"?

Also, Bill, don't forget that the entire concept of the Earth being round is a lie to begin with propagated by extremists. The TRUTH is the Earth isn't perfectly round so that whole model needs to be thrown out until a perfect model can be made that predicts not just how mis-shapen the Earth is today, but also predicts the all the, volcanos, mountains and valleys which will be created for at least the next hundred years. Volcanos are one big lie anyways, just a scare tactic to keep the population under control and make money. Not one scientist can predict when and how a volcano will erupt or what the resulting damages will be. Yet, I have to believe that they actually exist? Please.....

Not possible. The world would be a better place without any guns. Both have the same level of possibility of succes. None.

No, the politician is taking advantage of the "gullible biblethumpers". A politician's motivation is mostly along the lines of re-election and fundraising.

That has nothing to do with religion. That has everything to do with money, power and how your political system operates. Blaming religion for that is backwards.

The "Militarization" argument explained.......
SkyDekker replied to skycop's topic in Speakers Corner
nice strawman. I am not discussing how Grand Juries should or should not be conducted, if at all. I was countering your argument that a Grand Jury would have looked at all the relevant facts before reaching their conclusion. First, that isn't the job of the Grand Jury as the Supreme Court has already established. Second, the way grand juries are conducted are a clear indication your assertion isn't true. Third, there is no way for you to know this since the proceedings are secret and the records sealed. I am sure you agree with the findings. But trying to give your opinion additional validity because the Grand Jury must have looked at all relevant facts is asinine. -
That's not what he said or implied. But then, facts and you tend to not get along very well.

The "Militarization" argument explained.......
SkyDekker replied to skycop's topic in Speakers Corner
This includes "evidence" illegally obtained. The grand jury is set up to be one sided and under direction of the prosecutor. And you are conveniently leaving out the "defendant" has absolutely no right to present his side of the case. You haven't found that it is highly unusual for the prosecutor not to get what he wants from a Grand Jury? And since the proceedings are secret and the records are sealed, you can only be speaking for those cases you have been involved with as a police officer. Since it is most likely that you and the prosecutor were on the "same team" during those proceedings and the prosecutor most likely got what he wanted, your opinion is likely biased. -
yes. Are you sure you want to take that position? Because that policy would mean that anytime violence results from someone's display of something, then that display could be banned. And people would use that position to start violence just as an excuse to prohibit things they don't like. the next thing you know, everything is forbidden, and no one is allowed to express anything. There goes the 1st Amendment. The way it should work is this: Free Speech guarantees that people are going to say and do things which offend you. Get over it. Be tolerant and respectful of others, because you'll want the same for yourself. Ah hell, that'll never work... No, because this was specific to a school setting. Violence should still be punished. This was a decision for that specific day afaik.

That's a lot of hatred and vitriol for something you can easily avoid. Don't like religion, don't go to church and don't vote Republican. Lastly, how do you reconcile this with the foreign policy of your own country? I see no difference between what you are railing aganist religion does, and the stance of the US on most if not all US foreign policies. The US tends to think their form of government and market is the best and should be replicated around the world. It has been more than willing to use force, in some cases extreme force, to do so.

The "Militarization" argument explained.......
SkyDekker replied to skycop's topic in Speakers Corner
Uhmm no. The grand jury looks at only what the prosecutor allows them to see. It is led by the prosecutor, no judge is present and the defendant has no right to present his/her case. Stating that a grand jury looks at the totality of facts and therefor made an appropriate decision indicates a total lack of understanding. -
yes. Though, and some one correct me if I am wrong, I don't think the flag was outright banned from the school. It was just for the duration of that event, considering the potential for violence......in a high school. Maybe violence is a problem that should be addressed in the US? I know, you should have a War on Violence!

Monsanto Lobbyist wishes he hadn't claimed weedkiller is safe to drink
SkyDekker replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Better yet, a glass of what looked like the chemical, and when the spokesman refused, drank it for him and did a death scene. And there we have the difference between American Journalism and the rest of the world. -
I'll be the opposing view. As many of us lament that parents don't supervise their children anymore, that families aren't what they used to be, etc. I think this rush to 24 hour availability of everything is partly to blame for that.

Chicago again . . . We absolutely need more regulations
SkyDekker replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
They can. Heated driveways for ramps into parking garages are pretty common here. Residential applications are not overly common. Mostly just too expensive to operate. Cheaper to hire somebody to do it for you. -
What a load of crap. Little bit of respect goes a long way. And describing people who believe as dumbasses and stupid says more about you than those who believe. But surely you respect his right to believe whatever he wants - including that people who believe are dumbasses and stupid. Sure. He can believe whatever he wants.

College-Educated Republicans Most Skeptical of Global Warming

I am not sure you are right. -
Little bending of the truth and facts there. I think the Roman Catholic church has done a pisspoor job throughout this process. I have some faith that at this point they realize that. I also think our respective justice systems have done a pisspoor job punishing those responsible. I don't think it is fair to state the acts were sponsored by religion though.

The press is reportig that according to the Air Line Pilots Association every airline in the United States has a plan in place to guarantee there is always more than one person in the cockpit. Sounds like the plans and procedures aren't being followed. My guess is that starting yesterday they all off a sudden became rule followers.
