You don't remember it, because that is not how it works.

Far less pressure than having them here as either illegal immigrants or not having them here at all and having most programming jobs outsourced to India. As I said it is just a matter of degree. Wages are still suppressed. I'm not sure you realize it, but you are pretty much agreeing with me. The statement was that making illegal immigrants legal would have an upward effect on wages. Even here you are agreeing with me that the legal immigrant is getting a higher wage than the illegal immigrant. Not sure why you disagreed with the statement in the first place, considering all you have done is agree with it since then.

Now Obama has even made the mountain shorter. Thanks Obama! http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2015/09/03/After-name-change-Denali-also-gets-a-little-shorter/5031441278665/

I heard that too. I also heard that statement came from the police "investigating" their own and is based on a video not released. Anybody know if it will be released?

These incidents show again and again why police need to lose access to hard ammo as the primary load in their sidearm. Gee, that should make things interesting when an officer finds himself in a gunfight !!! Since they seem to be using the sidearms to kill unarmed people or pump cars full of holes, I see no reason why they should not start with a magazine of rubber or plastic rounds. They are policing a civilian population. They are NOT USMC Force Recon door kickers. OMG... you mean you would not let them have all the cool black shit so they can be all "tactical"... I mean so many of them seem to really dig that.... Well, some of the stuff is actually functional. As someone pointed out, the TAC vest is much better fro the officers since they don't have 20 pounds of gear hanging on their hips swinging around. My issue is with the increasing attitude and training that everyone is an enemy and the 'shoot first' doctrine applies. Rubber rounds, especially at close range, will effectively incapacitate pretty much anybody and pose far less risk to bystanders and suspects. If they need a second mag at that point load with the hard ammo. Interesting concept, bullets with airbags: https://youtu.be/-X5vUXdwABs

No, simply not true. As has already been posted, all labour is not equal.

Indeed. If you limit the supply of people who have little choice but to acceot extremely low wages, wages will go up. This is what Bill said. Your comment to that doesn't dispute that. Illegal immigration does suppress wages. Providing a clear and easier path to legal immigration will reduce the amount of illegal immigrants and put less downward pressure on wages. Not sure you realized you were pretty much agreeing with Bill.

To stay on topic, Greece is doing well with FAR fewer nut job with gun murders than the US and they're doing it with less gun ownership per capita than the US by far as well. Then, by Jove, let's emulate Greece. Make the well off pay taxes for a change. Good idea. But let's skip the sex with goats. Well In the US the top 10% wage earners pay 68% of federal taxes Do want them to pay more? Of course he does. A democrat will give the shirt off another's back in a heart beat. Taxes were a lot higher when Eisenhower (R) was president. Taxes were a lot higher when Nixon (R) was president. The government was a lot smaller too. So you are saying those Republican administrations needed higher taxes to run a much smaller government? -
Torontonians thought that of Ford.....then he got elected.

Obviously you're not a climber either. It is tradition for the first climber to name the route, not the peak. Spoilsport. I was waiting to see if he'd figure that out for himself No wonder nobody invites me to parties....

Really? How are guns safer now than they were 25 years ago? The concept of safety in a device designed to kill and maim is absurd. Hence, I would think "safety" would be based on the tool not being able to kill and maim what it isn't supposed to. Ie. only being able to be used by the designated person and only being able to kill what it is intending to kill.
-
That's not a reason not to have it for sale though. Accidental gun deaths, killings with illegal guns are seen as an acceptable price to pay for the 2nd amendment. However, this technology has to be 100% before it is allowed? That doesn't make sense. So what it a gun owner dies every once in a while because the technology didn't work as it was supposed to. Why can that not be an acceptable loss?

This hatred for people based purely on ideology.....are we not fighting against this concept now? Don't we think Muslims are insane for hating westerners purely based on ideology? Don't we say those Muslims have been indoctrinated by their "leaders"?

Really? How are guns safer now than they were 25 years ago? There are various smart technologies that would allow a gun to only be shot by a designated person. This technology is actively being blocked by the gun lobby, to the point of death threats to stores announcing they would cary such product in their inventory. lol

In this case he texted a friend soon after the shooting, saying he had done a bad thing. So, sounds like he knew what he was going to do was bad but was unable to stop the impulse. -
Oh oh. Hillary Campaign has more problems coming?

Awesome, Trump for President!! -
Not a side step, just the other side of the coin. The odds of being involved in some very violent incident in which a gun is going to help you are very slim, yet many people feel they need to be armed with guns....just in case. Why pay this giant price as a society, just so you can walk around with guns? (Since the original intention of the 2nd amendment is rather outdadted at this point)

Oh really well you crystal ball is broken because i diddn't. As for prevention. Let's get all the details and see who all knew about his mental state first. I am betting his co workers or family knew something was going on but did not act. Yes they did. The company he worked for ordered him to get medical help. But in a larger sense, you don't devise laws and regulations to try and prevent one specific case. So, what do you propose would prevent these types of incidents from occuring? -
And yet people want to make sure they have guns to protect themselves from all the evil in the world while they go get their supersized coke with the tripple Whopper.

And I have. Because your reply will have an example outlinging how the suggestion would not have worked in this scenario. Better health care: Oh well you can't force him to go, so you don't know if it would have helped this guy specifically. No guns: well, you still could get guns on the black market. You are. If you aren't, then provide something that would have prevented this. -

Must have been a guy doing the analysis. Wonder if he had a good friend on the list, like maybe himself. -
Bad shit happens for sure. Guns seem to be one of the few tools with which bad shit sometimes happen, where many are completely unwilling to try and reduce the amount of bad shit happening with it. Most other tools and situations, people are quite fine with looking at strategies and technologies that can reduce the amount of bad shit happening.
