Yes it does. And just because gun ownership is increasing even furtehr in the US and gun crime isn't going up doesn't negate that.
-
There is a process in place to amend your constitution, which I believe completely negates this slippery slope idea. It is extremely hard to accomplish. Thank you for serving your country.
-
And is still orders of magnitude higher than other 1st world countries. So you admit to no link then? BTW You keep moving the goal posts I believe there is a link between the very high gun crime rates and the easy availability of guns in the US. I don't believe that the reduction in crime rates over the last years has anything to do with increased gun ownership.

THIS is a very telling sentence you posted It will be interesting to see how you back this one up what level of stoop it that? The easy availability of guns increases gun violence. Americans aren't inherently more violent than Canadians, it is just significantly easier to be very violent in the US. You don't really care, as long as you get to keep your gun, THAT is the single most important part. Hence, this significantly higher number of innocent people getting killed is the price american society pays for the right to walk around with a gun.
-
Let people arms themselves Perfect solution? No People will still die You said it yourself and seem ok with some price In the case of people being armed, I think fewer may have died To a large extent that is already the case. Compare the US to Canada. One country allows their citizens to arm themselves pretty freely. The other allows arms, but far more restricted. When you compare those two, I don't understand how the conclusion is that more guns would reduce the number of innocent people dying.
-
Not that hard in the UK, hunting is still pretty big there.
-
I guess I have to stoop to your level.... Interesting how you are fine with the price these students paid so you can have your gun. Hope you donate some money to the families. The downfall of America will be because of the mindset you display. Me, Me, Me and fuck everybody else.
-
Uhm no, they use words like "allegedly" and "it is alleged that".
-
Seriously, what a load of crap. I am not willing to pay with anybody's life. Innocent people will continue to die unfortunately. The question is how we can reduce the number of innocent people dying. The logic in your last sentence is so incredibly faulty, that I don't think discussing any of that with you is in any way worth it.
-
My condolences to you and your family freethefly. I cannot fathom the grief all of you must be going through.
-
That's why I stated earlier that the positive effects of a very strict gun control would take decades, if not generations.
-
What would make you think kallend is happy about abortions? I support the right for women to have abortions, however a woman having an abortion doesn't make me happy. But, stating you are perfectly happy to kill someone is well.....not sure I have words for it.

Planned Parenthood and the term "slippery slope" .

It seems to me at least one agency has staked their reputation to say that the videos presented in their entirety were unedited. I believe that was indeed reported, through an anti abortion group. Has anybody seen the actual report? -
No, nor is that a realistic expectation. Generally you would look for ways to reduce, not prevent gun crime.
-
You'll have to explain the logic a bit more. The idea that the 2nd Amendment prevented Hitler from succeeding appears to be rather laughable.
-
Then in your eyes what is the argument?
-
So some scientists are crooks...what's your point? So far the story is of the dog bites man variant.
-
They do, but generally they have less total homocides as well (per capita). Reducing the availability of the most effective tool in a process generally leads to reduced effectiveness of the process. I don't want to take away any of your rights. Your country will have to decide if they are willing to give up an individual right for the greater good of society as a whole. So far that answer has generally been no.
-
Not following your logic here. Because people don't remember the names of the perpetrators you believe people aren't blamed for killing? Not at all. The positive effects of banning guns in the US would likely take decades (if not generations) to take effect. In practice I don't think banning guns in the US is feasible. In my opinion, your founding fathers fucked up on that part of the constitution, resulting in a very violent society.
-
I know, changing an opinion is a major sign of weakness and should be avoided at all costs! Why is it that first world countries with strict gun laws have far less homocides with guns?
-
I think it is a fair statement, even if you think it is funny. I will explain why: I am fine with police and criminals being the only people walking around with guns. I understand that some innocent people will die, where the easy availability of guns could have prevented their death. I am willing to "pay that price", because I believe that fewer murders take place when less guns are easily available. I believe that society as a whole is better off that way. You appear to be willing to pay the price of more murders in your society, as long as you get to keep your guns.

Keep'em coming http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/jobs-up-only-for-immigrants-14000-down-262000-for-native-borns/article/2573290 ***Over the past three months, the job numbers for native-born have dropped by nearly 1 million, exactly the number of jobs President Obama promised to add when he ran for reelection in 2012. During that period, jobs for immigrants grew 218,000. Legal immigrants are less important than "native-borns"?

I think the Nazis used that argument too. It was struck down as invalid in that case as well.
-
Oregan State Law is semantics? Why would I want to tell you that? Never made that argument, not making it now. Considering he shot them, obviously guns do have something to do with this. If they were truly like me, they would be hoping these shootings simply didn't take place. In the end our view points are different. You believe that more guns is the answer to reduce gun violence. I believe less guns is the answer to reduce gun violence.
