So is a heatwave that lingered for the whole of july weather or is it climate? If it is weather then your title should be "unexpected consequences of heatwaves". But it wasn't, so I guess you believe the heatwave was actually a long term temperature rise, which would then be climate change. Not quite. The occurrence of prolonged heat in Siberia is weather. However the steady prolonged increase of global temperatures is climate. As the climate continues to steadily increase temperatures the length and severity of these weather phenomenon will increase as well.

Punishable by the same injury, or death resulting from the unsafe storage. If multiple deaths, immediate family members should be included. -
You seem to be the rather annoyed one. Maybe grab that Trump doll and cuddle for a while!

He is only charged because there is video. If there isn't video, there would be no charge. We have seen enough cases of cops planting evidence when they thought they weren't on video. None of this behaviour is new. What is new is the ease at which it is getting taped. It will take some time until cops devise new strategies. It has already started to some degree. Tape getting magically erased. Whole systems getting confiscated etc etc. And please don't give me the whole few bad apples routine. Seen enough cases of supposed good cops standing around and doing absolutely nothing when some of those bad apples act. And you were indeed correct. A little push back and cops threw toddler temper tantrums and refused to do their jobs. It all reeks of: leave us alone or we won't do anything and people will die.

What a lot of garbage. Encouraging people to vote in an election is the same as believing people are drones that must comply. Nuts. No wonder you guys have Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as nominees.

Trumps genuine concerns about our country.

Way to take personal responsibility America!! Blame it on Allies. Blame it on Illegals. Blame it on anything but your own decisions. Certainly don't blame it on constantly lowering taxes when you need more revenue. As a society you spend like drunken sailors, but never want to pay for it. Always want somebody else to pay for it. Couldn't be that is a problem? Trump may be concerned, but he doesn't come up with any viable plans. Useless. -

I'm going to go out on a tiny limb and suggest that Hillary and Bill are fairly aligned on policy. The Clinton Administration leaned on S&W. Cuomo represented the Clinton Adminstration (HUD) at the time. And I can't think of any time that she deviated from the New York contingent (Schumer, Spitzer) during her time as a carpetbagger. H Clinton has been one of the most pandering, even by politician standards, Pretty much since that cookies remarks in 1991. And what exactly does that have to do with her personally wanting to ban all guns? Just cause you don't like her, doesn't mean you can ascribe all your silly fears to her. The fact so many Americans think that walking around with some object has anything to do with freedom is stupid enough. -

for non Americans, civil rights aren't a given, or even common. For many developed nations, there are still people alive that predate having them. So their appreciation for the importance is notably lacking. Tying being allowed to walk around with guns to civil rights is idiotic. Maybe try finding way to provide healthcare without bankrupting people first. Much more of an important civil right in my ever so humble opinion. But you are right, we are extremely oppressed here in Canada. -
Thank god there are lots of guns.

I suspect you are wrong. There is a real benefit to them to get Trump elected.

there's little point to trying to deny the obvious. These sort of statements have been on record for decades now. Unfortunately for them (and you), it results in terrible losses at the polls (see 2000, 1994). I have no doubt it's what she wants to do, and just as little concern that she actually can. To a non-American it is pretty idiotic that whether you get to walk around with an object is such an important item in an election and has been for decades and decades. -
Unless Trump isn't really a wild card for them....

That's funny. Great speech by Michelle Obama last night. What a difference in tone compared to the speakers at the RNC.

Better go buy, buy, buy, Obama.......ehhh, Clinton is going to take all your guns away. Easy business when your customers keep falling for the same stupidity. -
can a business executive ever be a successful president?
SkyDekker replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Speakers Corner
True, though board members still are best served by the success of the company as a whole. More and more now, the opposition wants total failure in politics. -

SkyDekker replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Speakers Corner
I disagree with the concept that running a business is significantly similar to running a country. As such, there really is no option for me to vote. Do I think that a successful CEO could be a great President. Sure, but not solely because he was a successful CEO. -

Because the thought panders to idiots. -
None of them can do that, nor can an armed populace. Well, other than the internet Rambos who will do it all by themselves.

Dead people voting isn't dishonest, it is impossible. Unless you meant impersonating a person who is actually dead, which would be a little beyond dishonest and into the criminal sphere. -

When it comes to dis-honest voting I am sure IL and Chicago lead the pack. What is dis-honest voting? Is that when you vote for the candidate Rush doesn't like? -
Sanders is an Independent. He is not a Dem, he just caucuses with them. According to Wikipedia, since 2015 he's been D . . . When Cooper asked him at a townhall, "In your heart are you a democrat?", and Bernies said "Sure." Soooo - Wether you like it or not he has declared democrat. Interesting that you fear the Saudi Arabian donations to the Clinton Foundation will garner favour, but that large business dealings with Russia would not be an issue.

You do usually. Reality is a little too difficult for you apparently.

Why would weapons just be made available to well regulated militias? Isn't the original intent of the 2nd amendment was for the citizens to own arms so that they could be recruited into a "well regulated militia" if necessary? Derek V If that is the intent, then why have it at anymore? Between your armed forces, including the National guard, how many more well regulated militias do you need?

Hasn't happened in any other civilized society. You seem pretty uptight about women in the military.

I see it as highlighting how idiotic we (the US) have become. The "Anti GMO" movement, the "Anti Vaccination" movement, a host of others, have all used the "lie, instill fear and denigrate opponents" tactic. The "anti intellectual" bandwagon is getting pretty full. Even in Europe. Look at the Brexit vote. The idea that the voters should not listen to the experts was a key point that the "leave" group touted. The simple fact that extremists are the ones who make up the largest voting group in the primaries is a side effect that resulted in Trump being the nominee. Fully agreed.
