Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross
SkyDekker replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't. One facilitates the other. By doing nothing and hungering for the way things used to be, provides the breeding grounds for white extremism. It is the same argument as "I am just following orders". It is the, I just want what I want and fuck the rest of the world or the consequences. -
Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross
SkyDekker replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I don’t think these people really care about the constitution. I think they worry more about having a white America than anything else. -
Does the answer somehow lead to which person is directing all these candidates to back out when, according to you, they have a clear chance of winning? And what is the reasoning for this mystical, magical person to want a worse candidate for President against the GOP? Is the DNC directed by the GOP Deep State? The worst President of the United States was defeated by one of the weakest candidates ever. God bless America.

The link is there. I am making a general assumption you are able to count, if you need help, let me know.
-
No he didn't. But the point is true.

What first three contests? Buttegieg won exactly one primary, with a very, very small margin. I think other than that only in New Hampshire did Buttegieg get more votes than Biden. results are here
-
So who? Simple question. You are throwing this theory out there about some powerful person pulling all the strings and directing all this. Who is this mystical, magical creature in the dark? You guys keep blaming "fake news", but when very simple questions regarding grand theories cannot be answered by the person espousing these grand theories, I don't think journalism is the problem.
-
But you are not. The answer to "who" is generally not "they". Which person, name some names. Who do you think is pulling these strings? Who do you think is so powerful to be able to tell all candidates to stand down and put forward Joe Biden as the lone, almost puppet? And either how stupid are all Americans, or conversely how incredibly bad is Trump, that Biden then goes on to get more votes than any other presidential candidate?

Texas GOP is subsequently suggesting states secede from the United States. Apparently they are so patriotic they don't want to be part of the country.
-
That doesn't answer the question. So Republican to point to some magical mystical creature in the shadows.

I always thought that things like apple pie, burgers, big cars, pickup trucks, showbiz where things that were quintessentially American. But today I had to change my opinion. I don't think anything is more quintessentially American than the President's personal lawyer hawking gold on the internet...

And who is it that "told them"?

How come Benghazi and emails aren't on this list?
-
I am surprised the big constitutionalists on here, those who support the 2nd amendment with all their might have not chimed in on this. State rights are pretty important to them normally. Weird they aren't really upset one state is trying to dictate how other states conduct their elections.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Zoomer Urges POS Biden to Forgive Student Debt via Exec Order...

Education shouldn't be looked at purely as an investment from a monetary perspective, but also from a societal perspective. A rich culture should be more than a golden toilet. -

Me neither. Correct. When you followed it with: "A bargain struck should remain so" you implied there should be no amendments to contracts. And again. That isn't what we are talking about regarding student debt help. -

I don't think anecdote trumps data. Student debt overwhelmingly effects the poorer and the minorities among society. -

You are equating having a portion of student debt forgiven with students en masse walking away from their debt obligations and are therefore against it. At least that appears to be the latest version of your argument. Probably will change in your next post. If your argument is based on a flawed premise and that premise keeps changing, yes I am going to argue about that. Specially on a forum which is meant for exactly that. When universities have money to build lazy rivers on their campus, while students from non-rich families have to get into thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of debt, there is likely a problem. -

Which has absolutely no baring on forgiving student-debt. Nobody is suggesting the students walk away from their debt on mass. -

Not true. Moving the goal posts again, as predicted. -

SkyDekker replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
You said you believed in the sanctity of contract law and people sticking to their promises. That would imply no amendments to contracts. Now you are arguing that you don't believe in severe changes/amendments. Where are you going to move the goal posts next? -

Nobody talks about moral hazard when governments promise, or talk about retro-active lowering of taxes. -

I finance or re-finance a few billion worth of real estate on an annual basis, contracts get amended all the time.
