Because trickle down was the sales pitch, not the actual purpose.
-
Correction, most billionaires are republican, but didn't like Trump.
-
True. But that doesn't take away form the fact I would prefer Americans not mass murdering each other so frequently.
-
So it bans a type of gun and not all guns. And you are proving my point. Should also note that in recent history that one measure, the banning of assault weapons and high capacity magazines is the only measure that has curbed mass shootings. making my point again, conservatives will never support anything that will make a difference.
-
Trickle down economics is like a social program right? Giving tax breaks to billionaires has to help a single mother somewhere <shrug>
-
That is a rather stupid statement. Social-economical status is a rather large indicator for infant mortality and miscarriage. Thinking you have no control other than proper prenatal care is ludicrous.
-
The US military isn't that good at caring for babies. If the US really cared about children, the infant mortality rate wouldn't be among the worst of the western world. Infant mortality is at its worst in red states. It is that bad because Republicans really don't care that much about people, they care about control and the votes delivered by appealing to faithful.
-
lol, ok. So you feel it is in the government's purview to force every unwanted child to be born, but not in the government's purview to provide any care for said unwanted child. You believe this to be a great system, cause you care about children so much?
-
There is no real strategy that will work though. Conservatives will do two things: Label any proposed change a "ban" Blame Liberals for not proposing anything that isn't a ban.
-
And those some conservative congresscritters have indicated over and over again that they will resist anything and everything related to gun-control. What gun-control effort has been broadly supported by conservative congresscritters? What suggestions have they made to curb gun-violence? What willingness have they shown to change?
-
It is almost as if the point is wilfully being missed. Very few are calling for complete bans. It is nothing more that a right wing talking point, to drum up fear. The liberals are going to take everything away from you, rise! Your current system was described by BIGUN as "winning" for the right wing, implying that they do not want to see anything changed. The current system produces an ungodly amount of mass shootings. Winning, indeed.
-
You can't really tell by the examples you give. But you can tell by the fact that once the children are born, the GOP doesn't really give a shit anymore. Universal healthcare: nope Subsidized daycare: nope Education: only decent if you can pay for it Food security: don't be so damn lazy etc. etc. They claim to care about children, but they really stop caring once a child is born. That is how you know this is really only about controlling women. The American Right is no different from any of the Muslim extremist regimes: control through religion.
-
For a Canadian it is hard to see how mass shooting after mass shooting is 'winning".
-
I think in general one is able to make an inherently racist comment without being a racist.
-
I am fully white and raised in a white neighbourhood by white parents. Not sure why that would preclude me from protesting against racism in your opinion. It is honestly a pretty racist thing to say.
-
I can agree with this. What I don't agree with is that respect has to be given by virtue of a uniform.
-
What freedom were you asked to sacrifice? Do you mean the stay at home or mask mandates? If so, would you be open to a system where survivors of those who died form COVID are able to sue people they were in contact with prior to getting COVID who did not wear masks or did not socially distance for instance?
-
Or just discard them because their brother's friend's cousin knows a doctor who said something else.
-
I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.
-
Except last year all off a sudden 10,000 to 20,000 more Americans started dying each and every week. Ever wonder how that happened? Do you think that is a trend that should have been allowed to continue?
-
In Canada serious adverse side effects have been reported in 0.006% of doses administered. (0.024% non-serious adverse side effects)
-
Worldwide the date is here. As of June 1, 2021, 1 in 48 confirmed cases of COVID dies. This link also shows that Excess Mortality in the US was significantly higher in 2020 and early 2021. Frequently in 2020, 10,000 to 20,000 more people died per week than the 2015 - 2019 average. You can argue about whether somebody who passed out from COVID exhaustion and getting into a car wreck died from COVID or from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, but you cannot argue many more Americans died during COVID than during the previous 5 year average.
-
They weren't my numbers. And the ratios are not likely to mean against all Americans, but all those in the group.
-
You ask for "proof" and then follow it up with this nugget of gold....Did you also know that people have died because they were not able to get treatement, or were too scared to ask for treatment due to COVID's impact on the healthcare system.

That Trump will be re-instated in August and will pardon them all, or some other nonsense. They have already shown common sense isn't very common for them.
