As long as you're sure that she really understands and is cool that she can die doing it, I don't see the problem. Personally I'd probably only let a family member that's grown up or been around DZs awhile already jump at a really young age.

Need to know if im getting a good deal...... PLEASE!
MarkM replied to craig00025's topic in Gear and Rigging
Sounds a little too pricey. Go to the classifieds on this site and price out different mains, reserves, containers and used AADs. That should give you an idea of the market value of the components. -
There are many ways people measure success in life. Money, fame, power... but I've always felt that the best measurement on whether your life was a success or not is if the world was a better place for you having been in it. Not that you cured cancer, ended wars or created world peace. But did you influence just one person's life in a positive direction. Where you there for them when they needed it. In the end it's really all that matters and it sounds like Mike had that in spades. Blue skies on a life well lived.

Lake Wales and Collegiate Nationals
MarkM replied to katseyes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Lakes Wales recently went through a total staff restructuring, so the chaos may have been a result of that. -
I think that's changed to where a D licensed jumper can jump with non-A's now. But when I graduated AFF I jumped at a DZ that pretty much just ignored the stupid coach requirements anyway. And really, I don't know of many DZs that enforced it. If you were jumping with someone good enough, no one really cared.

I speak Jive.

What they can do depends entirely how they got in. 1> I hack Sang's admin account and can screw with dz.com's access and posts. 2> I hack the DZ.com software and can screw with the website directly on a code level. 3> I hack the box itself and gain root access. I can format the HD if I want.

This would screw over planes that don't have doors which aren't being used in skydiving operations.

Wrong mix of it Besides, I don't know if Rhapsody or most other services like it give you the song in mp3 format, which is what I need. They have too much DRM crap mixed into them to be worthwhile. May just have to buy the album used off Amazon.

Napster doesn't have it(I checked), it's going to be a fairly rare track. And I'm not about to install itunes on my PC.

Anyone have a mp3 of the song Venice Dawn? I think it was done by Hiratzka & Kazell, but I know for sure it features Shirli McAllen.

Didn't Fonzi do this already?
-
Yes. I didn't know whether to be turned on or inspired. I'm so confused right now
-
Yes, but it's provided on the condition you don't post the video.

You only say that because you're jelous that the PHI has scallops and you're no longer able to buy them. Now I shall return to standing in front of the mirror going "I'm batman".

Is there any advantage to the hand glove being part of the suit? Won't it make sizing the suit that much harder and wouldn't it wear out faster than just a simple loop?

That was the most compelling argument I've seen in the thread.

I'm wondering if being belly to earth is what may have stopped the spin for you. Whenever I get into a spin anymore I pretty much twist opposite of the spin and flip over to belly to recover. Has anyone ever been in a sustained flat spin, belly to earth? Every bad spin I've seen has been back to earth and I'm curious if there's a reason why.

That works for you, wouldn't for me and a lot of other people.

I think the bigger cause of fatalies is lack of calm clear thinking with rapid decision making, not that the person made a decsion that's a small percent worse than another choice. So while everyone may not agree with the choice being made, the fact that it was a calm reasoned choice made with an awareness of the circustances at the time makes the though process "correct".

While my family knows I skydive I never had any sort of "talk" about it. It's sort of pointless, they know it's dangerous. My sister works with show horses... my brother rides a motorcycle all the time... my uncle was a Sheriff... my family pretty much just accepts that life in general is dangerous. And when one member of the family dies, we mourn and move on.

Love the site. With the babes down there, I probably wouldn't ever come back
