I'd certainly toss that football. Where should we target?

I have it on good authority that it's the first wave of an attack on Earth by THEM, and you're all fools if you don't believe it. In the meantime, I'm prepared.

Yeah. Please see the opening sentence to my post #33. With that, we're done here. -
Violence Against Women Act - Who Voted Against It?

Because I want citizens who care about these issues, and might be swing voters in the states represented by these Republican men (and they're all Republican men), to be aware of these Senators' votes, and flag the issue for further investigation, to decide whether or not it will influence how they (the citizens) might vote when these guys are up for re-election. -

Sigh. I'm not "appealing" to it; I'm identifying it as one of several existing factors. I've made my point. -
Contrary to misconception, the USA has THREE land-borders. Not everything revolves around southern Latino illegal immigration. From the commentary: Well, first of all, he has a spicky name. Bad enough, eh? And, I looked up his photo: http://www.aclu.org/files/emvideo_thumbs/emvideo-youtube-ZAED9s4TsYo.jpg Look at him! He looks like Che Guevara. Lastly, he has a beard. So does Santa Claus, which rhymes with probable cause. Case closed.

Violence Against Women Act - Who Voted Against It?

Ideally, we shouldn't, IMO. I don't think we do, or at least we shouldn't. But at the same time, let's acknowledge, and not ignore, the simple fact of most adult men's greater physical strength than most adult females. The discrepancy is real, and it does make a difference in a fight (absent weapons, etc.); nobody would deny that. Policy-makers are not doing the whole job if they close their eyes to it. -
Violence Against Women Act - Who Voted Against It?

This happens to men all the time, but if you're suggesting this still happens to women I'd request you share whatever it is you're smoking with the rest of us. Look, let's raise the level of discussion here. It's not black-or-white. Oftentimes societal attitudes, laws on the books, and non-statutory policies (such as a police dept's field procedures) all evolve closely in parallel, in both time and substance, constantly cross-influencing each other, and thus often resembling each other. As society began to recognize the problem, some dealt with it via letters to the editor and editorials, some by writing to or lobbying their govt representatives, some legislators drafted bills to mandate change, and some police departments were astute enough to evolve their field procedures on their own initiative. The result is that to some degree, even without new laws, some police departments - some, perhaps many, but not all - have evolved their field procedures to where their officers' handling of these really tough situations has become more even-handed and gender-neutral. But anyone who thinks it doesn't still happen in some locations, or with some officers, is just as wrong as someone who thinks it still happens everywhere. All things in balance, Grasshopper. -
Yes, this is not rocket science. The number 616 is the numerical code for Nero. The 666 is the numerical code for Neron, which is the direct object form of the name in Greek (which is then transliterated and added up in Hebrew). So what's the numerical code for neuron? And does it transliterate equally from Judean to Samarian? Hey, I'm just trying to stay in the game here.

Oh I see - like those canopies you jump. I get it.

Would you recognize a police state if you were living in one? Irrelevant and diversionary. ETA: I'll modify that a tad - it's relevant if you use my wife's standard of "anything within 10 degrees of separation is relevant". Otherwise, it's not.

I have a wonderhog older than that, in great condition...but who wants to jump a round reserve anymore? Chuck Norris jumps a 24' twill flat as a main. And he deliberately retro-fitted it with acid mesh just to make a style statement. Oh yeah? Well MINE has 4-line releases on the back AND front risers, cored the 550 for weight...and has a crown mod made from '68 Plymouth Fury seat-belts...AND it's dyed pink! Norris don't need no stinkin' 4-line release. He just looks, and it obeys.

Care to elaborate on this? In what way is it "open season" on women in "domestic" cases? Usually women are given favoritism over men in these cases under the law. I did, in post #8. -
The term "stripper clip" certainly has evolved.
-
Well, of course it is. And for every crazy moozlim story there's a crazy Bible Belt story. Like this one: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/02/07/tennessee-man-quits-job-after-666-stamped-on-w-2/?intcmp=obnetwork

Would not have. You just have no understanding of 24th Century technology. Anyhooo, I have to laugh that this is Fox "News" and they're calling a magazine a "clip". How many times (before he became a sock puppet) did JohnR correct gun whuffos on this? Oh the irony.

Latest is he's been charged w/homicide. He'd better lawyer-up, or he won't have a leg to stand on. .

I generally agree with you in principle. But as with anything, there's the potential for abuse. Lawrocket, for example, has posted his feelings about this in some detail as I recall. Maybe he'll weigh-in here. -
Don't quit your day job. Translation: "I got nothing." LOL. OK, if you insist. How about "stupid-ass, juvenile slogans do not a cogent argument make, so stop embarrassing your blood-line."
