  1. Please. You guys ain't Chuck Norris.
  2. Self defense. So that's a good thing for Americans. We can invade Canada any time we want and pillage their vast resources of moose.
  3. 6:45 too long for anyone who has a life on a Tuesday.

    Mmmm Sushi

Depends on how you finish the sentence.
  5. A thought: Does any part of your trip fall prior to the date of your 40th birthday? If you're aged 39 years 364 days, you're still under 40, so presumably the extra requirement wouldn't apply.
  6. And doctors capably treat unconsious human patients all the time. But the labels on the meds, the notes on the charts, the instructions to the staff and techs, and the consultation with the owners are generally not written or conducted in conversational WoofMeow.
  7. Really? If so, sorry. Great minds think alike, I guess.
  8. Moderators, feel free to move to General Skydiving if you feel appropriate. Maybe even Safety. http://www.nbcnews.com/travel/travelkit/let-your-flatulence-fly-scientists-urge-passengers-1C8431651
  9. (We will now have 5 more posts debating the parsing of the restaurant analogy.)
  10. Depends on the times, and the issues. I lived thru & recall the 1960s. There isn't nearly the mass anger in the US now over the issues of the day as there was in the 60s over civil rights, Vietnam and the draft.

    Time

Nope. The slowest time in the universe is the time it takes for spring to arrive in Wisconsin after buying a Porsche in January. Highest snow accumulation in several years. And it's just sitting in storage. May I offer a "mother in law story" as competition?
  12. So you'd euthanize the poor lady to after all she's done for the family? I don't get some people.
  13. You forgot the rest of the formula: billvon offers a skydiving analogy Andy makes a smartass 1-liner TK says something Communist Wendy says something "Ann Landers" and we all join hands and eat cookies
  14. After 200 jumps, has anyone suggested to you to punch out the container with your elbows on a stuck bag like that? Back before throw-outs, that was SOP for some guys after every pull.
  15. So on a first date you'd like the guy to get straight to the point, so long as its in a pleasant manner. Like "PLEASE may I screw you"? No, he has to shell out for a damn good steak first.
  16. Yes, that's exactly what he said. Oh, wait, no it isn't. Argue against what people actually say. If you need to put words in their mouths, you're already losing.
  17. Everything you just said is covered by (all of) my post #39.
  18. How about knowing what you're talking about instead of just making it up or repeating commonly held misconceptions? Any lawyer with 30 years criminal justice experience in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country, such as myself (and not just as a lawyer), knows that that kind of "problem leniency" in criminal courts is very politically unpopular, and, as such, it is very rare - so rare that, aside from the occasional "newsworthy" outrage, it statistically is practically insignificant. The "problem" of lenient criminal-court judges is much like the "problem" of flag-burning: for the most part, it really isn't a problem.
  19. So faster recovery after a workout at the gym. I gotta tell ya, this all seems like a win-win.
  20. ...which every educated consumer should have on his bookshelf at home.

  22. With all due respect (seriously), I'd need some more convincing that there's much down-side, compared to plenty of up-side, to a hybrid program of, say: - 1 tandem to get past the oh-shit/sensory overload of the first jump, uncluttered by any other tasks; then - a couple IAD/SL + 1 hop & pop to learn the basics of saving one's own life on a parachute jump, uncluttered by either first-jump brain-lock or any freefall tasks; then - with those minimal basics dealt with, however many structured AFF jumps it takes to learn the basics of safe freefall. Done right, with planned structure, I don't see that there's anything necessarily unclear about the path or ambiguous about the decision process. It's not program-to-program; it's a single program, with planned, structured phases. But I invite being educated by the experts, which I am not.
